Round, I do hope that you haven't come out in bruises from your fall, and that Kevin's repair does not empty your bank account xx
Lots of excellent decluttering happening on the thread- well done, everyone. I was completely washed out yesterday and did nothing. Today started off in similar vein, but things have improved as the day has gone on.
This afternoon I have done some determined sorting of photos of DS1 up to just before his sister's birth - so nearly 3 years' worth. Album no.1 of 25 has been completely emptied and binned; I've thrown out 20 or so blurred/unflattering pictures; and I've set aside lots of duplicates and other prints that are OK but not wanted for the "official" family archive (DS1 can keep them if he wants them, or give them to DGD1+2). There are also lots of photos of my eldest godson, which will eventually go into a separate folder. I don't intend this to be the final cull, but will try to reduce the number of prints even more as I slip them into the looseleaf archive pages. I'm hoping to be left with 12 - 16 photos per year maximum, having started off with at least 100 in each.
The last of the Christmas decorations and cards will be taken down tomorrow. Last January I put the boxes of indoor light strings in one box with the light bridges, and all the baubles off the big tree (the one which went to the CS in October) and other decorations such as candles and the carved Nativity into a separate, larger storage container. This year I shall put the boxes of lights that we use downstairs into one of the cupboards in the utility, where all the outdoor ones are stored. That, and keeping back only the small baubles that are perfect for our new 3-foot tree, will mean that I shall only have the one larger container and the tree to put away in their designated spaces in the loft, together with a large donation box ready to go to the CS in October. Talk about forward planning....!
DH has just come home from his Sunday afternoon war games club. This morning's snow meant that he did not go to a planned sale elsewhere, where he was hoping to make a little money, but because the snow had nearly all melted by midday, he started to get withdrawal symptomsso off he went. I'd better go and cook tea.
Will see you all over on the new thread xxx5 -
Natty beat me to it by posting the link to the new thread just before my post went up - so you will need to go back a page to find the link for the thread dated 6th January.
