Sleet turned to nothing. Ouch, Round x
En suite cleaned. Not quite a deep clean, maybe a S&S Plus.
HHI done.
Crossword of 3 days finally finished. The setter was having a laugh at my expense. One cookery book into cs bag. Oohh decluttering efforts have just taken an upturn as DSis has snapped up 3 of mum’s crystal bits. Ferrrrling.Old spice rack to be repurposed into a thread reel holder. I can put all the colours into rainbow order - that pleases me very much for reasons that I don’t want to even think about.7 -
A load of packing materials will be heading to the Scrapstore next time I'm passing and it's open. Belovéd has agreed to two more cotton shopping bags that were in the wash when we did the bag sort are to be put in the CS box. I'm shattered and not carrying on today but I've made progress, and smoked mackerel paté, tidied up, shuffled laundry and instigated a new idea for saving every month. Chuffed with what I've achieved, frustrated by wanting to do more but unable to today. Tomorrow is another day.
Better is good enough.7 -
Well my best laid plans went to vermin poop today as I got called in to cook at the rehab unit due to staff sickness. This was supposed to be my first Saturday off in 3 months. Just in now and sitting down with a cuppa, totally shattered.
Sorry to hear about your fall Round - it's been really cold a frosty here all day and I gingerly walked the drive to shut the gates when I got home as I am like Bambi on ice and very likely to fall down too.
I'll be required to cook dinner shortly, so may fly briefly after then. Hugs to all xxx7 -
Twinklie my DS1 is also turning 13 this year and completely get the wanting to spend time with them before they're too big. Today is DH's birthday, and I'd intended to take him out for coffee. Then DS1 was speaking online to a friend, and the friend asked if we could all meet up at Costa (I took DS1 there on the last day of term with his 2 friends), so we all went along there, and then went to the park afterwards. It was freezing cold, and DH and I were counting down until it was time to go home and warm up. I was touched though that DS1 allowed me to push him on the swings - the first time I rememeber doing that since he was small, so that was nice. His friend is a really sweet boy and came along with sweets he'd bought to share again. He even let DS2 have a whole pack of them as he couldn't have milk due to his dairy allergy, so couldn't have the chocolate bar. Thank you also for the reminder to measure the children's feet. DS2 was saying that the trainers he was trying on in his current size were too small (he has a habit of wearing them out before outgrowing them), but his feet do still measure what I thought they did (just on the cusp of the next size, which may be why). This afternoon, I've spent some nice quiet time putting all of the dates into my new Family Life diary (it's a 16 month one, so I've even looked up the term dates for the Autumn Term 2025). My diary comes with little stickers, so I enjoy putting those in as well. I've also found the new winter bedding that I bought in anticipation of putting it on our new mattress (still not heard about when that will be delivered yet), so have washed that and it is currently in the tumble dryer. As it's so chilly, I think I may put it on our current mattress tonight, as even though I'm a hot bod, I've had to close the windows today (I leave them on the crack usually). I don't think we'll get snow here as we rarely do.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20178

Ouch Round, glad you are OK after your tumble, and Happy Birthday Pops.
Well done Dizzy. Those sorts of conversations take some courage, I hope it works out for you. Hope you stay dry too with all the snow and rain xx
2025 has two goals for me, the first is getting the debts down so I am not stuck doing a hugely stressful job for ever, the second is about prioritising my needs and wellbeing as much as I can, and being true to myself (i.e not just trying to please others or fit in). Neither of these will be easy.
So in the spirit of these two things I have joined the Ramblers, drove up to the moors in the fog and ice (very scary) and spent the day walking with complete strangers. It was fantastic.
This adventure was followed by a home cooked tea and a hot bath and my library book in front of the fire. Oh and some Christmas chocolate.
I have done an airer shuffle to keep on top of the laundry and emptied and refilled the DW. That's it for today.9 -
Thank you for your kind words.
Pops' surprise party went really well. He said he's had the best birthday ever. Bless him.
And to end the day I reversed into my uncle's car in the pub car park. Yep. I pranged Kevin. My uncle is going to check for damage in daylight but we couldn't see any tonight. Not so Kevin. He has a cracked rear end 😳.
I'm going to bed. I'm not safe to be let out!!

Sorry to hear about your fall and prang Roundtuit, hope not too much damage done.
A frosty morning so of course I went swimming.....but if it's zero degrees air temperature and 4.2 in the lake, that's got to be the warmest place to be, right? Enjoyed breakfast with swim buddy afterwards.
Burnt some of the paperwork I'd sorted out yesterday - it may be more environmentally friendly to shred and compost it, but I would need an industrial shredder to get through it all.
Continued culling emails.
wudupa
made a chilli for tonight and tomorrow's dinner.
And now it is snowing!! Not forecast until Wednesday here.........Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.7 -
Morning all.Ooh Round, let's hope today is uneventful for you. YSL, sounds like you had the perfect day.
Wordle in six. I had the last three letters on line two but there were too many options.
No real plans today and it is snowing here and settling so that's probably just as well. It's supposed to be changing to rain later so I'm assuming DGD2 will still arrive for her sleepover later. Plans for tomorrow have changed though as there's a bad lurgy in DS's house so they are isolating for now.I will try to report back later with any flying.
Have a great day everyone.
Strands with no hints.Spend less now, work less later.5 -
Morning all xx
I was in WAC so completed the puzzles just after 3 am. I completed Strands with no hints required, Wordle in three, and Connections with one life lost. I looked out and it was snowing, so no surprise to find a white world this morning- and still snowing. Thankfully I don't need to go anywhere today. Mammogram appointment tomorrow at 13.12 .... that's the first time I need to be anywhere.
I'm up, made my bed, taken my meds, turned over the calendars, and supped my first brew.
To Do Today List
Brew 2
Get dressed
Feed the birds
Put out the recycling
Bring down the laundry hamper
Sort washing into loads
Set first load swishing
WUDUPA
Text Uncle to see if there's any damage to his car* 🤦♀️
Text Pops to see if he's hanging
*All I had to drink was a Diet Coke so no alcohol involved in my idiot prang. Just to clarify.

Thanks for the clarification Round!
Dailies are done, WUDUPA, shined kitchen sink, house ready for DGD2 arriving later and I've walked Poppet in the snow. A very short walk as she really doesn't like snow. So we haven't completed any quests on biscuit app today. Never mind, even with Poppets short walks we still get about £70 in free vouchers each year.
