Morning all - it's a bit brrr here today! I love it! Freezes all the water to give us a short respite and allows our deep well pumps to make a real impact on the standing water.
DH and the boys have gone off to footie - Tiny plays at District level at the Aston Villa training ground, which is an amazing space. I got to stay here and wait for 2 Shih Tzus to be collected. They were supposed to have been groomed by me during their stay but I've not been able to run water, so that hasn't happened which will annoy their owner, but...
2025 is the year of change for me - I've got a few difficult conversations to have with people who I feel have been coasting along at my expense or using me to their advantage without consideration for how it affects me and it's time I addressed this. Hubby has already had his talk before Christmas when I told him I'd been to see a solicitor about a possible divorce. Things have to change and my situation has to improve, so watch this space.
Anyway - I have my first Saturday off in three months (and it's likely to be my only one for a few more) so got lots of decluttering and sorting/cleaning planned. The wetroom is first after water came up through the floors when the floods were at their peak. I'll be taking a notebook in with me to write down all the niggly little jobs that need sorting in there. Then it's on to the dining room...
Hugs all round - flinging spoons, so catch them as needed!

2025 is my year of balance. DS1 is a teenager this year and I’ve not got long left with them both before they get to big and want to go off and explore the world, friendships etc.
So with that in mind, I do want to be productive BUT not at the expense of family time. So my list went by the by because we were playing board games.Soooo today I need to get back on it (mixed with more family time.Todays list:1. Fold and put away laundry. ✅2. Tidy the kitchen. ✅3. Put the big shop away (when delivery comes). ✅4. Finish tidying boys room.5. Put at least 4 items on Vinted to hit my overall aim of 10 . ✅6. Take the kids to the hairdressers. ✅7. Hoover upstairs.8. Research dehumidifier - want one for upstairs. ORDERED. ✅
9. Get the boxes for Christmas decorations out of the loft. ✅10Take down Christmas decorations. ✅.11. Put Christmas decorations back in the loft.
12. Wash and dry school coats ready for Monday. ✅Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
% of house owned/% of mortgage paid off. July 25 - 38.82%/31.66%

Morning all, It's a rather chilly start to the day here.
My list for today
Dismantle the spare bed in the office.
Spend an hour in the office decluttering/decorating
Fold laundry that has been in the TD overnight.
Have some family time before everyone gets busy again (decided to head to the cinema to watch Moana2)
Look into listing items on Vinted (never used it before so any tips/advice welcome)
Update Mr T order as delivery is tomorrow
Take the dog for a long walk
Defrost the freezer
I think that is everything I need to do today, hope everyone has a lovely Saturday.

Morning all. Wow, everyone is busy.
DH has done the top up shop for the week, so that's all been put away, and we've taken down the last of the Christmas decorations and put them in the loft (except for the one ornament I missed!). While up in the loft I insisted that one item got decluttered so that is a broken lamp, and we also brought down one of the high chairs as DGD3 will need it soon. That now needs to go in cupboard of doom so I'll sort that shortly too.
Right I'd better wash the breakfast dishes, get dressed and walk Poppet. Wordle in four.
Have a great day everyone with plenty of family time.Spend less now, work less later.8 -
I hope your conversations are productive Dizzy.Strands with no hints, two lines on Connections and Wordle in 4.I don't think of what I'm doing as a New Year's Resolution, I'm tackling it as a job that I've been itching to get to for weeks, if not months, when my time and energy were focussed on other things that were more urgent. I know exactly what I want to achieve but it's hard physically, and it takes a lot of mental energy making masses of decisions.Today I'm feeling very tired indeed, but I can still declutter a few things at some point. I realised this morning for no apparent reason that I can now let a set of Shakespeares go of my mother's. They were on her desk bookcase for 45 years, she bought them for her father I think, who also had them on the same desk bookshelf but to my knowledge no-one has ever actually read them, and nor will I. I got through two Shakespeare modules for my degree without using them because I needed to write all over the texts and they're far too special for that. They're the kind of thing I think I keep out of guilt and fear of missing them but I don't think of them at all, so why would I miss them? There's a bookseller around the corner who might want them - I have a pile of cookery books for him so I'll take them round at the same time. I don't need money for them but if he can make something out of them we'd both be happy.Belovéd's birthday tomorrow, so we're gearing up for that. Happily, today, he wants sausage rolls for breakfast today and I just happen to have some in the fridge. Yum.Better is good enough.7

Morning all,
Happy 90th birthday, Pops 🎂.
Yesterday saw a lot of random wood, shelves, general stuff being saved for Justin come out of the loft and move into the garage. Now that the garage finally has a decent roof - and a good door, although Justin is welcome to come in and take the lot. I will even unlock the door and load the van up for him! I also got a couple of small boxes of my mum’s treasures down to sort out. They can’t stay there forever, so decision time this year. I’m not going to overload my lists though, as I know that is my fast route to overwhelm. And this year is the year of putting family first, after so many years of work taking priority to the detriment of everyone around me. That’s the sort of plan anyway.I am trying out my 3 list approach - Project / Toots list, Random Thoughts list (anything and everything, no joking!), and the day’s 5 jobs. This last comes off the other lists and the Flylady lists and is to give me a sense of achievement. But they are totally moveable. Hmmm, now that I have written that down, it sounds over complicated. I might rethink…
First job ticked off - change DD’s bedding now that I know that she is staying in the uni city for the weekend.Stay warm all - I have just looked up and it has started slowly sleeting here x8 -

Who put 'fall' on my to do list?
Fall ✅
Path perfectly OK at the back and side of the house so it didn't occur to me that the 'wet' path at the front was actually black ice. Until I stood on it. And my feet went from under me! Nothing broken. Just a bit bruised and battered. I managed to get up. But the public footpath was also like glass so I very carefully turned round, tottered home, and drove round to Pops' house instead. The roads are gritted.
