Payday is such a lovely day isn't it to know we've got the ability to get a bit closer to our end goals and seeing the numbers ticking down (except when the go up, thanks car)

Chosen this tune tonight as it accurately mirrors my day - in and out of bed although no shaking about! And I've also had things in and out online shopping baskets and we all now know (me included) that this is my weak point when it comes to budgeting.
I did purchase some things for our holiday however these were all cosmetic consumable type things and nothing was purchased that would be considered frivolous (teenagers need deodorant 😂 as do I) and nothing that we wouldn't actually use at home normally. I did find myself searching for linen short style dungarees and had more of these in and out of baskets than anything (I had a neeeeed) but none were purchased as actually I have plenty of clothes and hopefully as covid has robbed me of my appetite I may stand a chance of some of these actually fitting!!
Right best take some more meds as my temperature is rising again 😖 I am a terrible patient

Losing my mind - Liza Minnellli
Gosh I am getting cabin fever from myself but I am improving little by little.
At Christmas I often get what is commonly called "the twitch" which is where you go Off List and panic buy things right at the last minute (despite having planned and budgeted for the list). Today I "twitched" and panic bought for the yoofs for the upcoming holiday only to remember many hours later that I had replaced said items this time last year. My brain really isn't firing on all cylinders at all.
Still in that limbo time where I've been paid but before things start moving out the main "bills" account. I'll wait and see what this month brings and hopefully have some extra to chuck towards that tantalising £33k number .......LBM Oct 24

I am, as Pearly Jam sing, still here! Pretty much recovered from the lurgy and then went on holiday. As I was trying to encourage the yoofs to engage in conversation and have less screen timewhilst away I felt it was only right I did the same 😂. I did try and pop on to read but didn't get a chance to post. Did manage to still do my thrice daily bank check though and no spending outside of the budget was done.
So what's new. Not a massive amount although everything has nicely gone downwards balance wise and WOOHOO hello new low balance total! It now stands at £33,875.62 tantalising close to the 6k debt paid marker. I may have some money left over this month to chuck a little more towards it but I know there'll be no overtime in this months pay packet so I'm waiting to see how much it is before I commit myself

Edit to add - the reason I'm not sure what Aug pay will look like is our pay rise comes into effect and although I think I've worked out what my new "baseline" income will be I don't always find the online calculators accurate (especially as I get 2 pay checks from 2 different jobs with 2 tax codes and 2 different pension contribution percentages).
Still the back pay is earmarked for the Christmas pot although I am determined to mirror last year and not to ridiculously spend this year - more on that nearer the time as it is ONLY AUGUST!
Note to self though - credit cards come down so much quicker when YOU DONT BLOOMING USE THEM. Obvious but my CC balance is at its lowest it's been since I started this diary and I can't wait to say goodbye to them forever.LBM Oct 24
