I would pay the balance on the phone. I find that the fewer payments that go out of my account each month, the more in control I feel of how I spend my money. I think you will top up the emergency fund quite quickly.
mind you, most of us are on these boards because we are not fantastically brilliant with money 🤦♀️ so perhaps go with your instincts!2 -
Good on you for biting the bullet and sorting out the car insurance. I paid mine in full for the first time this year and knowing that it is sorted for a cheaper than it would have been and already building up next year's is such a difference.
I am another one is slowly waiting for my ridiculously expensive phone contract to come to an end. It was easily the worst choice i made in my spendy days, 4 months left. I can't wait to be able to go on to a sim only deal2 -
Totally believe you should pay insurance in one go, and pay off that phone!
I have always bought my phones outright with one payment and then gone sim only.
I have probably saved hundreds of pounds that way.Saving To Keep Ahead Of The Game — MoneySavingExpert Forum

Changes - Black Sabbath
I fell at the phone handset hurdle 🤣🤣 No risky decisions Lzzy ...... careful and rational and I know the work overtime is more sporadic than it has been to date over the next few months so I just need to be as canny as I can. I'm VERY Mindful I have a balance transfer of £484 to clear before the end of September when it's 0% runs out and I am determined to clear it rather than Move it (move it - I do like to move balances!) I have not totally discounted the phone idea though.......
Gone with a Sabbath song tonight because I really am starting to see changes in my approach to things. The utter revolt I felt at taking out more credit last night caught me by surprise because I'd normally chose it without a 2nd thought. The eagerness to get things cleared when previously it was "Manara, Manara". Investigating the various policies we have and why we are paying them (oh yes this is the next job on the list!!)
Whatever happens in terms of the potential money changes ahead I want to carry on making sure I have done my best before that point. That I have turned around and taken control and changed how I handled money. I didn't quite realise that along the way I'd change myself internally 😂Nov/Dec 24 £39 564

What a busy few days. I am so ready for the weekend to get here - hopefully not too spendy as we are off camping. Grocery budget was over to accommodate the food and beer for being away but I am so ready for a little break to refresh the batteries. The actual camping fees were £44 for all of us so not too shabby at allm
On the debt busting front that 34.5k marker is well insight for this month .... just £30 to scrabble from somewhere! It also marks £5k PAID OFF since i started my diary which is officially 1/8 of my debt. However I'm now focusing on the next goal of getting down the the next 1000 bracket 🤣
