Breaking the girl - Red Hot Chilli Peppers
I don't mind working the weekends but this was a particularly long one and I am so tired. I don't know if it's getting older but I could have gone to bed at 7pm tonight. I know it's fathers day and I did manage to pop and see mine and we did dhs (small) gifts and cards this morning.
I personally have managed not to spend anything this weekend although dh managed to break the garage door, which, as you can imagine, I am least than impressed with. He reckons he can mend it for a cost of about 70 quid. Admittedly its not the end of the world but when you're tired and feel like your breaking your a**e trying to get back on the straight and narrow, it did momentarily.
Mot day tomorrow which is worrying me more than I care to admit. I feel like I'm holding my breath permanently waiting for the next thing to go wrong at the moment - I found a massive hole in the sole of one of my work shoes today (which probably explains the wet sock sensation when it rains). They are atleast 6 years old but I might try and repair them or see if I've got anything else that fits the uniform policy already as im really trying to keep to budget and not spend.
Think I will need some nice classical music to go to sleep with as it's probably not ethical to knock me out with tranquillisers.Nov/Dec 24 £39 564

Hope the MOT went well. I can relate to that about the garage door breaking as well. It often feels like one step forwards two back!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee1

Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley
it is with EXTRAORDINARY RELIEF that I am able to report my car passed!! I cannot put into words how much of a knot my stomach has been in all day 🤣. I could barely eat anything although I'm sure that may have been the heat too. Just the water pump to change now, which is hopefully this week.
Bit of a late disry entry tonight as another side hustle gig completed this evening - it won't be a massive payer but every penny counts. It was beyond warm though and I ended up spending £3 on soft drinks as i sank all my provisions I had taken early on.
I had some more bloods done today (surprisngly I have some left after all the recent check ups!!) but I'm going to whizz over that. I did pick up an interesting looking book from the surgery charity stand for 50p so I just need to find some time to start it!
Busy day tomorrow - more side hustling and prepping for the wedding booking. The warm weather makes me think of beer gardens and for the 1st time in a while I really craved a pint this afternoon in the sunshine- I couldn't succumb as I needed to drive this evening but it caught me off guard! If it comes again tomorrow I may have one from my own personal pub (aka the garage) in the garden as there is no room for a beer fund until.payday aftee Junes Car Maintenance Massacre 😅Nov/Dec 24 £39 564

I have read through your Debt free diary and i just want to say you are doing fab!
I am so pleased your car passed the M.O.T, these little wins really do help. I have similar level of debts as yourself and its a real slog huh..
But we push on and having read many many diaries here, it apparently does get easier!

Hey! So glad your car passed it's MOT. My moto with cars when there is something wrong with them, is turn the radio up! Much to DH's disgust!3

Ah thanks everyone! I do keep trying to think postiive thoughts as much as possible.
The Power of Love - Huey Lewis and the news
After last months Great Card Shuffling my MSE scores aren't showing 1 of the cc balances and it's like looking at the future with lower balances and very high scores. I know it's not real but it's really quite motivating to see what they can eventually look like. Seemed apt to choose the Back to the Future theme for tonight's song choice.
I've plodded on today - the week before payday is always the longest isn't it. I had to get some fuel.today but I'm hoping I may squeeze this out until payday if possible. There was more side hustling today so another £20 in the pot and should get 40 for the gigs. On their own it never seems very much 🤣 although I do it for enjoyment really but the money is quite nice and does add up over time. Normally I try not to spend it but I might need it as my buffer money has all gone on tyres this month. If I can I'd like to start ear marking this money for overpayments either as and when or save up a nice chunk for helping clear balances when 0% deals finish rather than just transferring them.
Youngest yoof is away on his residential, and I am missing him more than I care to admit. I have allowed myself to feel a small sense of achievement that I managed to pay for the trip all by myself and by budgeting and saving. Eldest yoofs end of year trip however has been cancelled which has caused some disappointment so with the refund we may arrange for a similar theme park trip outside of school for them.
Despite the heat I did a home workout (2/ 2 days this week) - I've not had time to miss the gym recently with everything that's going on. I shall add gym though onto my DF wishlist.
