Every breath you take - The Police

Today's song was inspired by the (frankly rather concerning) undertones of the Police classic as ive been FB stalked by algorithms of Dave Ramsey all day long 🤣

Sadly not a NSD as had to order some new trousers for 1 yoof and purchase a father's day present but got a nice tshirt (tbh it was needed) in a shop sale. I did pay for these with cold hard cash - I've put the "emergency " cc safely away as carrying it round was just like a ticking time bomb and I am determined these need to be making headway.

I'm going to hold off cashing in my investment plans for the moment  (sorry Dave) as I've had a recall to rerun some tests by the docs - it would be just my blooming luck to cash in and then get something that the critical illness part would have paid out on 🙄. I'm not feeling too worried - what will be will be and worrying won't change that.

I'm continuing to eeek out this months petrol money - topped up today with £20 which hopefully may see me through til next week (I can but hope! )

I did realise today that whilst I've purchased clothes for the yoofs this calendar year the only thing I've purchased for me is new socks 🤣 Long may it continue although I may push the boat out in a few months time and get some new underwear ........ my mums fave saying was "what if you got run over by a bus!"  Mind you if you were run over by said bus it would be the least of your problems!!

I've just caught up with your diary. You're doing really well with the 4k reduction and savings plus, saving for future expenses.

I hope your test results are positive.

Thanks @Cara_ i'm quite calm about it all as I'm not entirely convinced there's much wrong other than Getting Older but I will happily go through all the check ups and tests (even I'm not that stupid not to hahah) Having a focus on the debt busting is distracting me otherwise I suspect I'd be fretting more.

Back in the game - Airbourne

I feel like I've got my focus back the last few days on lots on things - I'm on top of payments, and everything debt wise has gone out for this month,  I've got a plan (hopefully!) for the car and mot next week, my back pain has improved, I've got back on the healthy eating and tonight I managed some strength training which has given me a real buzz.

Numbers wise I am TANTALISINGLY close to breaking below that £35k mark - I'm exactly £132.91 off £34 999.99 😅 Frustratingly close but with the mot I'm not sure I will scrabble around and find that this month but you never know.

I have spent some money today - £15 on a tshirt for eldest yoof from the clothing pot (Vinted) and a grocery shop. The tshirt i was pleased with - he doesn't go in for hugely expensive named brands but is fussier than when he was little.

I have noticed my food shop has crept up a little but I think this may be because I've been adding some alcohol into this the last few weeks. This might seem a backwards step but it has curbed the Pub Habit substantially so overall spending is most definitely less than before. I'm not a big home drinker these days so this also good health wise.  Although I'm half expecting phone calls a) from the landlord to check I'm still alive and b) the bank due to reduced spending activity at said pub!

I'm glad you are feeling better, and I hope all the tests give you the results you want.
I find I just can't recover from the alcohol like I used to. Even just a couple of glasses makes my sleep crap and I'm tired for days even if I'm not hungover. If 20 year old me ever heard that!!

You jogged my memory. I had an old money tin in a cupboard of 'stuff' from my old house. I had broken into it a few years ago when I needed to top up meters so no pound coins in there, but I've got £15 in silver to pay off a credit card and a few more quid in copper to put in the holiday jar! Thanks for the prompt!

It was such a thing wasn't it to stash the loose change when we used cash more!

I didn't say everything in as youngest yoof needs loose change for his upcoming school residential trip but when I've sorted that out the rest will be going in!

    Daydream Believer   The Monkees

Ooof overtime weekend for me - trying to make the most of it as I have none in July which will be the 1st month since I started on my mission.

August payday and September will be a test of whether my basic budget works 💪

Currently I'm reluctant to spend anything until after mot day tomorrow 🤣 Tbf I've been quite busy so haven't had time to spend. Friday I did go into town for an appointment and did spend £10 in B and M on some bits that I had had in my amazon basket for a week - mainly vanity stuff like mascara and eyebrow tint (I'm too tight to spend £25 on eyebrows)

I was a little miffed that Specasvers have change their lens mail scheme and no longer include free £70 free glasses (its only 50% off designer ones now) As I had no change to my prescription and mine are perfectly fine I politely said No to new specs. If I need some (which currently I do not) i will internet search for something cheap. Designer specs which i only wear round the house are a luxury rhat can wait til I'm debt free.

Speaking of debt free it's become my new favourite daydream - things to put on my saving up for list when I'm 50/debt free (apart from the mortgage). Currently I have:
     foreign city break
     Walk the coast to coast
     new lounge carpet
    New paintwork for my campervan

    Keep on dreaming
