These Days - Bon Jovi
a mixed bag of days recently, the old back seems to be very variable day to day with some days being much better than others although yesterday was blooming horrendous. I may have to admit defeat and seek a proper opinion on it if this carries on much longer. I did manage my day out Friday which was a lot of fun (and in budget) but obviously paid for it massively yesterday.
Just order a new water pump for the car which hopefully should be the last new bit for it (fingers, toes and everything crossable crossed) - £60 but funded through the car pot.
2 days to payday huzzah. So quiet BH weekend I think for us. I'd like to attempt a walk and a bit if gardening today as the sun is shining- will recruit the yoofs to assist or rescue me if I get stuck on the ground weeding !!!3 -
ah no! I was hoping the back was getting better. Be careful with the gardening. I'm glad you still got to have a fun day out though.

hope your poor "old" back is improving.
The beeb have another showing of Kelly's Heroes today - my dad has been looking forward to watching it since yesterday. I'd love to know how many times he's watched it.

Boo to the back still giving you gip 😞 I love how you refer to your lads as yoofs 😆 A friend of mine’s dad calls her OH yoof despite him being well into his 50s🤣I get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Thanks everyone - it's easy to forget how debilitating pain can be and it's really made me feel utter pants.
I'm struggling a bit emotionally and even though I've made some big strides money wise it all feels like I'm whispering in the wind. I have however been paid and got a bit extra for my April overtime which will no doubt be swallowed up really fast as I went through the yoofs wardrobes this weekend and now have a list of stuff that needs replacing (mainly socks. So many holey socks!)
Must start June with a more postive mind set2 -
Affirmation - Savage Garden
So after this mornings Pity Party for 1 and an unsettling anxiety attack, I decided that this really is so unlike me and I was not going to accept or entertain this new unwelcome version any longer. Quite frankly She can Naff Right Off.
So I pulled on my Positive Pants and set to work - I am very good at giving out advice but rubbish at listening to myself. I wrote a list of positive things I have achieved and a list of things that are within my power to achieve moving forwards.
1st and foremost I think ive worked out what's going on with my back and most importantly how to fix it.
2nd I've decided I need a few weeks off the pints - I should probably do longer but I shall be realistic in the 1st instance and see how we go. This will help my mental state as well as my finances so winner all round.
3rdly no more wallowing. I will get there by hook or by crook and this month everything WILL go down.
Today was not a NSD but essentials were purchased for the yoofs - all holey socks are now binned. Thank you Primarni!2 -
Well done, I'm glad you're feeling better about things.
There'll be no criticism from me for the occasional wallow though, you do whatever you need to do here.Debts 04/01/25 02/06/25

I stopped drinking beer a few months ago now, I loved my after work beer! A friend suggested I try 0% and so I did…honestly they’ve come a long way since the first time I tried one way back when.
Anyhow one thing I have noticed is my anxiety levels have dropped considerably, everyone has noticed. I haven’t ever said I would not drink but honestly seeing the difference in my mentality and emotions have been a real eye opener.Save £12k in 2025 #32Make £2025 in 2025 #28

Yesterday was a NSD which is a decent start to the new pay month.
Today I'm going to drag the kids to a local nature park- partly because I think the fresh air will do us all good and I have this immortal fear that ive wasted the precious days off I have with them and away from work. Hopefully a low spend day if we take food and snacks so car parking and an ice cream only!
I will today book my car MOT for a few weeks time and some other routine stuff/life admin bits that need doing.
