I'd say 2k joint emergency fund and 1k personal is more than enough savings. I'd focus on paying the cards down and then just repay your savings as and when you use it. I find seeing my card go down more motivating then my savings going up. But it's about what suits you. Also the more debt you pay off in next 12 months the less to balance transfer then
    *Dad loan - £5300 - £6900
    *Virgin Credit Card - £3552.50 - £0
    *Natwest - £1828.35 -£0

    Barclaycard - £2315.25 - £1000

    *Total debt - £7900/£10680.85*

    Savings
    *Savings Buffer - £1250/£1500
    *Emergency Fund - £1000/£1500

The Long and Winding Road - The Beatles

I'm still loving this glorious weather, not that I've been able to take much advantage of it as today marks the last day of a pretty grueling week of work. I have some annual leave coming up and I must say I am absolutely ready for it - people have started to comment that I'm looking tired and tbh I am feeling it a bit. Last weekend working this weekend for a few weeks - got 1 extra in June but sadly nothing for July as yet.

I'm going to bookmark May as "Messy May" as due to BT shuffling and BT fees and paying for an unexpected health procedure everything is up and in different places to before but next month should be a steadier ship (fingers crossed).  Still all the bank balances are in the black with a week to payday and I'm still hopeful of my little surplus being intact (we shall see!!!)

Those dumbells remain in the online shopping basket .......

I do like being able to see the savings go up - originally I had planned to get to 1.5k but now I'm wondering if 2k would be safer ....... I get all funny about dipping into them which defeats the object of a fund 😂  but I also revel in the debt going down .... I want it both ways hahaha

Might go back through the incomings vs outgoings and see if any more savings are to be had - I doubt it as ive stripped back most unnecessary things but you never know!

    Hurt - Nine Inch Nails

Hells bells. I've NO IDEA what I have done to my back but jeepers creepers the pain!! The inability to bend down! The huffing and puffing!! I'm moving like an old croc as my mum used to say. I sat on a stool to do the ironing today it was that bad 😂

I've pushed through the last few days but just couldn't entertain any idea of exercise today other than a very very gentle walk to get to 12k steps. I did have to nip to the shop to get potatoes as I'd forgotten these in my weekly shop and also came out with 3 plants for a £5. This is why I online shop!! Youngest youth also needed paint for a school project so that was another £6 on tester paint pots.

A week til payday though and hopefully a less chaotic money month. Eldest needs (another) school trip paying and youngest needs the coach money for his trip paying. Never blooming ends 😂 And half term next week. Already. I've no idea where this year is flying to.

Hope your back feels better soon. I really don’t miss those days of school trips and associated costs, I expect they’ve got a lot worse since my two were at school.
