2025 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD - The Joy of Decluttering

Quite a lot in, my husband went to visit his daughter and baby and came back with three drawers of baby/maternity clothes. Fortunately with a bit of shuffling we managed to make space in existing drawers. Made me smile to count the baby grows. I stopped counting at 50. I think they will try for another baby pretty soon so it makes sense to keep the clothes. In clearing the drawers to make space I found 6 work shirts from when my husband worked so they went to the charity shop with a suit and curious print from step son’s move.Speaking to my uncle yesterday he said he wanted a duvet. He is in his 70s and its his first duvet. So after asking what he wanted I realised we have exactly the right one. I have parcelled it up and sent it to him. I ordered a duvet set to go with it. If he doesn’t like it we can have it back. Its a feather one with the stitching in squares so the feathers don’t end up at the bottom which i much prefer.I was in the garage looking for a spare cat bed. We have a couple of wardrobes in the garage. One for cat stuff and one for camper van stuff. Anyway I really struggled to get to the cat stuff wardrobe. Made me realise the garage needs another sort out. Its a double double garage and its totally full of clutter so it is a work in progress.13

Have only decluttered cardboard today & general recycling as there’s been quite a lot coming in due to me celebrating another turn round the sun 🥳Deliberately slow day.. reading, chatting and drinking of tea ☕️ has been the main goal, other than enjoying my wonderful hubster & DS1& 2’s company 🥰
DS1 bought me a compact treadmill so I can walk everyday even when the weather is rough.. I am looking forward to getting into a proper routine with it.. 🏃♀️
Feel better soon @BlueJ94 be kind to yourself & take it a day at a time.. 🤒"There's a little witch in all of us"🔮🪬🧿DEBT FREE 06/2018Mrs SD’s Decluttering 2025 ⭐️ 🥇🥇🥇🥇14 -
I don't know what's got into me. Another day like yesterday only this time washing down ceiling and walls in front bedroom. Another bin bag of bits and bobs cleared from there and bathroom. I blame my Mum really. We always had to tidy our bedroom at this time of year ready for father Christmas coming. I think I still do it and we aren't even spending Christmas at home so the big man won't see any of it. I do love coming home to a nice clean tidy house though so it is a Christmas present to me.craft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £35.96 spent, 144 made and 5 mended,

🌞Happy Birthday @MadamMim2013 🎉🥳🎂🎁
Just popping in to say that I am still on the train and decluttering odd bits and pieces as I come across them - every little bit helps. Today I am shredding a 9” pile of financial paperwork, some dating back to 2002, which relates to a small charity that closed down about ten years ago. I had kept it all well beyond the recommended time period just in case the lovely* tax people needed answers to any questions. They have obviously decided that my odd pennies are not worth chasing after
(* That’s not meant tongue-in-cheek. I always found the HMRC Charities section extremely knowledgeable, helpful and efficient 💐)
DH and I have been out today to one of our local NT properties which has 1970-80s themed Christmas decorations - bringing back lots of memories of when my children were little. We had a nice light lunch there and I walked Rosie across the parkland in glorious wintry sunshine. Since returning home I have finished off some cat keyrings, made from oddments of wool. Tonight I intend to start writing cards. Gifts for my children and grandchildren are mostly ordered and on their way, but I need to make another batch of marmalade to cover all their requests!I hope that everyone who is presently suffering from the flu will recover in good time to enjoy the festive season xxx10 -
Well people….the Christmas cake is done. And I hate it. It didn’t turn out how I wanted in my mind but I ploughed on as it was far too expensive to just bin. I’ll be seeing mum Saturday and will deliver it then.
im not giving up as I’ve found a recipe that uses small baked bean tins (empty and cleaned) so I think next time mini cakes will be the way forward.⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

on holiday so missing a lot of comments. have taken with me a book I picked up in Crete which is somewhat dire and intend to leave it somewhere with a critique in it. Basically - if you are desperate for anything to read, then read this. If you like literature, find something else. La Plante's The Red Dahlia. really quite bad.....but I've got 30 pages to go so maybe it will improve??????I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. If you're on the last 30 pages, and it's not improved yet, I doubt that it will! 😂😂Brie said:on holiday so missing a lot of comments. have taken with me a book I picked up in Crete which is somewhat dire and intend to leave it somewhere with a critique in it. Brie life's too short to read books you don't like unless there are no other books to read! After a week stay I declutterred my sister back home on Monday, she's my sister and I love her but she's hard work! I was driven to wine and chocolate so haven't declutterred any lbs.
i did park a financial / tax frog when she was here and when I had time to track down paperwork missing from my pension file when sorting folders and drawers (only took a hour 🙄) I realised it was just a tadpole as I had forgot I worked until the end of May 2024. So no need to call the tax office 😮💨 I did find a big pile of stuff which I shredded and binned so not a complete waste of time.
Today I was helping an elderly friend sort some stuff out and brought back a big bag of shredding from when i tidied her carrier bags in June, I overrode her argument that she could do it, her neighbour and I are trying to persuade her things have to change in her flat if she wants to avoid anymore falls and it's been sitting under the table for months. I've promised to help get rid of hundreds of cds and vinyls, homework required to see if I can find someone to rehome the vinyls.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin9
