@Green_hopeful most of the pages were covered with confidential information (think Gift Aid correspondence and membership application forms, among other things) so everything bar the printouts of documents such as the bank's Terms and Conditions had to be completely shredded. But I use the same system as you on my day-to-day shredding. I'm not like @Liverpool_Anne - I don't find it an enjoyable way to spend my time, and I'd take any shortcut to get it done faster!
Now there's no room for any more shreddings in the compost bin

Hi, on way home from my team's Xmas meal..lovely food and decluttered ££ youngsters gone on to the pub but I'm meeting friends 11am tomorrow in a pub before another meal !
Love how caring and kind this group is to family and friends and generous with everything and supportive of all fellow declutterai.
Turned wardrobe upside down to find something smart but not work like today so another area to sort rather than declutter too much.
Book and toast rack in cs bag and hope to full over the weekend.
Dd1 will help Xmas eve and will check if any vases etc she wants and any kids stuff to keep. My cousin will come round between Xmas and new year and will think categories she can help with.
Charity picked up bed and few other thing is from my dad but realise as getting things from my dad's that I could have the double mattress as dd2's needs replacing and will help pay for the van cost.
Own up to wombling 2 chairs from outside a neighbours which match 2 I have although mine have upholstery seats rather than fake leather which is original. They need minor repair but definitely had my name on them!
Hugs and healing vibes to those poorly or under the weather x

I don’t give many Christmas presents. Mostly I give my kids money to take the grandkids out for the day. I have some friends from my old work. We meet monthly and they tend to give small presents. So today i went to the refill shop, picked up some jars from the ‘Lonely Jar Club’ and filled them with treats. I popped the lids on and cut fabric rounds with pinking shears and tied them up with ribbon. Then i cut down bottle gift bags to pop them in. Hopefully they will go back and refill their jars with treats. I have made a couple for my son who loves them as well.

Yesterday was an interesting day:
Roommate Di was sick with what seems like the flu, threw up. I ended up helping to cleanup but she did some of it.
Roommate G claimed he was too sick to go see the doctor - but was able to walk down to the liquor store. Turned out it was a phone appointment so the doctor talked to him anyway and then he slept the rest of the day. Was up part of the night playing the guitar.
Roommate J decided that, since he got back pay, it was time to buy a car. Of course, he wouldn't listen about looking for places with guarantees and that sort of thing. Bought the car, drove to a town about ten miles away - and the car wouldn't start. Took the Automobile Club three hours to come and tow the car. This morning they couldn't find out what was wrong with it, so he is out trying it again.
Roommate D had a birthday yesterday. He hasn't been here for several weeks so I called and sang Happy Birthday to him. Haven't heard back yet. May have unnerved him completely.
I did get a call from my best friend who lives in Colorado. We talked for almost two hours on the phone, that was the highlight of the day. I did finish reading a book for the day. I have been trying to read one a day and then taking all of them at the end of the week to the public library for the Friends to sell. Also checking for those I won't read and adding them to the stack, so I have another bag ready to go. Finished the test question part of my Excel exam this morning and still have the worksheet part to do. I really want to finish it if I can today and get it out of the way. But I have a week to do it in. Will be going to the store for the drink part of tomorrow's chime choir event later today. Buying water and drinks - but I will be reimbursed at the Book Sale next week. Temperature still over 25C but is supposed to go down soon.

Hi all, out and about today. Went to 2 sm to pick up different things, Also the card shop for a birthday card for friend's dgs who will be 1 on 30th December then went to 2 post boxes to post Christmas cards but both were sealed and not in use. Luckily the second one was outside the post office and had a sign saying hand letters in to the post office. The queue was out of the door despite 3 people behind the post office counter and someone else on the shop counter bit. When someone queried what was going on with the post box the staff didn't know as they are the post office and the boxes are royal mail 🙄. They think they are being replaced with new types of post boxes that will take parcels etc but not sure and no idea when. They could have picked a better time. Anyway cards handed over and gone 😁.
OH's parcel arrived on time so that was sorted and packaging recycled and then I made a pot of coffee and went in to see ln as I haven't seen her for over a week so big catch up there. Home for tea and after tea tackled some emails while clearing down some programmes from the planner. 600 deleted, I really am going to have to crack on with these as despite deleting so many others I have just filed and not actually looked at and they are growing like topsy 😂 . OH wrapped a few presents and may have used the last of the birthday paper but I will have to check as I might actually have to buy some 🙄.
@Green_hopeful I wish I had a refill shop near me, they look great gifts plus I have a few jars I could add to their lonely jar club 😂.
@weenancyinAmerica WOW a book a day, I wish I could do that, my tbr pile would soon go 😁 but I tend to only read when I go to bed and often fall asleep after a couple of pages 😁
Right time to get to bed, footy tomorrow so probably not much done.
Hugs to everyone who would like one
1680 cards posted
1681 packaging recycled
1682 - 1687 600 emails permanently deleted
Take care everyone

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Friday is a dull overcast day. Rained in the morning & now very dark but no rain forecast - high 12°C (feeling 3° colder) & low 6°C with an 8mph wind gusting to 19mph Having had a flurry of activity yesterday, I have gone completely back to sloth mode 😔 The garage freezer has been wiped down & dried, drawers returned & is now switched on. DH decided to wash the car - he did 2 stages of washing the car & will do the final wash & polish tomorrow. Seems excessive 😉 I remember a soapy wash, rinse & polish 🙂 DH has also used all the now defrosted items I removed from the freezer & has made soup. Dinner was sea bream, boiled potatoes & peas for DH & me, quiche & boiled potatoes for DSis. Wudupa.
2283 - 2286 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, cardboard box, cardboard packaging - recycled
2287 - 2288 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
Apologies for falling behind with the cheerleading……again 😞 I fell asleep on the sofa & have only just woken up soamoff to bed. Sleep tight 😴

Happy belated Birthday MadamMim. It sounds like you have had a lovely time.x
Hahaha, don't worry Daisy, the slippers/ shoes are a reputable make, the fault is me not being able to pick my foot up because of my poorly knee, not the slippers.
It's been all go. Mr V has cut a nice piece of wood which I will varnish at a later date. It is now a radiator shelf in the hall. Standard radiator covers were all too short. It may or may not stay when we decorate the hall which is a long way off. There is now a curtain pole up at the patio doors in the dining room. No curtains up, just a pole! it's on my list.
The window seat in the sitting room is out. Oak panels taken to man shed, pine frame cut up for our fire. Old carpet and underlay taken to the tip. The space took a lot of cleaning then hole filling and I have painted it with 2 jam jars of white emulsion. Used up the tub of filler too. It will have better attention when we eventually decorate in there. The room looks bigger and brighter.
Taken to the charity shop, a gingerbread man cookie jar, 2 ginger bread men soap dispensers, a light up gingerbread house, 2 gingerbread people soft toys and a metal angel with swinging legs! Oh also the garden seat cushion which was on the window seat. As you can tell, I have moved on from my gingerbread phase.
Today's mission is to put up the big artificial tree in the bay window. I have bought fairy lights and spent £6 at the charity shop on 10p baubles. I also need to sand and paint the butlers tray after it's repair. It is destined for the porch with a Christmas tree on. Still not made the tree fit into the "bin " I want it to go in for the kitchen. I have also bought a second hand tree for the dining room. If I achieve any trees up and decorated I will post a pic.
Mr V at work all weekend. I need to crack on and achieve something.

I've managed to clear a worktop in the kitchen this morning.
I had to bin or recycle most of it as I found the flower seeds I had may have been infested with bugs and found out when I moved them.
I've triple bagged the rubbish bag before putting it in my bin cupboard in the communal hall and then put a new bag in the bin and bleached the worktop.
I also re-homed a bag of dog food plus binned a hot water bottle I rarely use.
Now 1 worktop to be decluttered and cleaned, 3 more to tidy.
Edit to add that I've taken the soft plastics and deas batteries to the supermarket to be recycled.Decluttering campaign 2023
