2025 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD - The Joy of Decluttering

Hi all, as predicted very little decluttering done yesterday, in fact nothing I could count 😂 but I enjoyed the footy 😁.
I am so far behind my target now unless a tornado hits and emptied the house I don't think I'll make it this year but I will keep going 😂, I might surprise myself 😂.
@Vulpix as usual you are like a whirlwind, you have done so much 😁.
Cute picture, I am also loving the christmas crochet blanket, looks very festive 😁
@Pennypincin you have achieved my dream, a clear counter top in the kitchen 😁
@Muddy_Walker was it the mincemeat cake you made, I know you mentioned another recipe you had found. If it was the mincemeat one glad it worked out ok. I always enjoyed making them as they were so easy. I also used to make mincemeat muffins with the kids, basic muffin mix, put a dollop of muffin mix in the paper case then a couple of spoonfuls of mincemeat then top up with the muffin mix and bake as usual. We used this a lot to make gluten free Christmas treats as I never got on very well trying to make gf pastry but cakes I could do ok so the kids that needed gf still got to take things home they could eat 😁
@suzeesu2000 yes I am trying to make space in the freezer for the cheaply veg next week as well 😂
@Chocolatedrinker an amazing list, well done 😁
@TC77, I have a new address book but I haven't moved over yet, job for a lazy day 😂, but my old one is so full of crossing outs where people have moved it's a proper mess 😂
@London_1 so glad you like Jade and had a nice time, you might be looking for a hat soon by the sounds of it 😁
@GrannyKate well done on decluttering the mouse 😁
Well time for another cuppa and then sort out the washing. It's lashing down here so I will put away the last loads from the maiden and refill it 😁. That's a start anyway 😂. As @London_1 says onwards and upwards 😁
Hugs to everyone who would like one
Take care everyone
Still 1687/2025 🙄

A very slow whirlwind LiverpoolAnne.
I have made some progress with clearing the dining table. A Christmas tree is up in the dining room. I spent a long time putting that sticky draft excluder tape round the outer walls in the sitting room. £2.50 well spent, it's made a massive difference. 3 loads of washing done and on the drying rack in the dining room. Soup made. Candles found and other stuff put away. Painted the bottom of the butler's tray. I also seemed to prioritise time for knitting the cream and grey blanket.
To do today. sitting room tree, put dining room curtains up, paint the other side of the butler's tray, mackle some type of way of making the kitchen Christmas tree fit in the base container that I want to use.
DD1 has just rung, she is coming to see her Grandma so will come here for lunch. She doesn't know it yet but she will help with the big tree. We always love doing the tree together whilst playing Carols. We haven't done this for a while as she has been living away, looking forward to it.
The gardener comes tomorrow to clear the front garden. The shrubs are up to and over the windows, can't wait for them to be gone.

Liverpool-Anne is was a Delia Smith recipe I used. Whilst I was at mums I mentioned the mincemeat as we were trying to work out what my aunt had used once and mum turned her nose up at that. I said I was going to try it anyway. Seems she’s only happy when moaning or getting angry about something. But she has always been like that and won’t change now!Dad just leaves her to it……⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

@Muddy_Walker my mother in law is exactly the same - happiest with a good whinge. I find it very exhausting.
Sold 3 more things on Vinted - 2 bundles of Beano mags (so technically that's 20 things), a book and a wooden xylophone). Will be able to post on Tuesday and also have a bag of clothes to take to the baby clothes bank at big Asda.
Binned a kids top with a hole in it, and 2 little rat toys from an old party bag.
Roast dinner for tea and G11 is making the Yorkshire puddings.

@vulpix - lovely picture of your cat. Would it be possible to have a clearer picture of the crocheted blanket? I am always looking for new patterns.11

@Green_hopeful I love those sweet jars, what a great idea.@chocolatedrinker - wow, that is one epic list!Sadly I've been ill most the week with loads of migranes and so I've been avoiding screens most the week where possible. Not going to spend long now - just catching up with this thread and back to do something non screen based. Still managed to collate a big list of items decluttered/used up for this week and I completely rearranged the big freezer in the garage ready for the influx of food for December:Digital:

Hello everybody
I've managed to make good progress decluttering items from the pantry, fridge and freezer in anticipation of my sm xmas delivery which arrived last night.
Surprisingly I've got through a lot more of the old newspaper supplement articles and do hope to finish them by the end of the year.
Unfortunately I did get temporarily distracted from it by reading a library book online (first time I've done this). It's called "Die with Zero", not a reference to decluttering but an attempt to manage your money during life and hopefully die with no money left apart from that that you wish to leave to your fave people/charities. It's very interesting.
I have bought some clothing to part replace the items I decluttered on holiday. Also history has been made as I have finally uud a can of hair mousse - hooray - first of this year.
I've been thinking about my aims for next year and I want to be quite ruthless. I only want to record things leaving the home as I want to see actual space, clear floors, neater shelves, make proper decisions on items instead of just putting it in a drawer either because the drawer has room for it or because of Justin.
So things like disposing of soft plastics and darning won't be counted anymore and maybe that will give me the wake up call I need.
My numbers for November are:
papers x 30 (counting as 3)
15 x slightly out of date foods from pantry - mostly rice cakes, soups and snacks
broken clothes peg
door draught excluder
uud hair mousse
clear nail polish
pencil case
Ins: pack of 5 t-shirts
pack of 3 tops
animal hot water bottle
free calendar from a travel company. It's quite a small one so will put it on my pantry noticeboard. I brought back a bigger cat one from Japan so that is already hanging up in the kitchen.
