Wow @Chocolatedrinker amazing 👏
Been out for another Xmas meal and one friend gave us all homegrown and made jam and gin ( miniature bottle) which will be consumed.
Had 2 address books so now one out and some addressed and people decluttered from my life (and me from theirs), some unsubscribing and paper but need to rethink how i organise kitchen/ hall dining room so doesn't get chaotic so quickly.
Mixture of reducing quantity, giving things a home and then putting them there!!!12 -
Epic, chocolate drinker. You have got to feel better for that!
Happy Fluffy Christmas.

Good morning chums ,
well DGS Henry and G/F Jade arrived on Friday evening, and what a lovely lass she is.
I heartily approve of her ,she seems to adore our Henry as he does her.
He always said to his Mum he would only bring a g/f home if he was very sure of her, and she felt the same They have been courting (now theres an old fashioned word
),for 6 months .
She's very pretty but also very down to earth and friendly, and is like Henry and is familiy oriented. We went out to dinner at Goddards Brewery which is really nice and very interesting, and had a lovely meal.
My DD and son-in-law had a pre booked dinner to go to, which had been booked several months ago so it was just Henry ,Jade and I, but we had a really lovely meal, and when we came home we sat and nattered and played cards.
I said you two should go out and have some fun, and she said no we like to chill out and just relax and neither of them are bothered about noisy places full of people
I chatted to her while Henry went to get some drinks and asked her if her parents liked him and she said I think my Mum wants to adopt him, she said they both love Henry and his quiet steadiness and how polite he is.
She's a nursery teacher and really loves her job and by the look of things feels the same about our Henry.
A sensible down to earth lass who loves the bones of him and even her Mum keeps sending him extra meals when she cooks as she said he needs looking after
He is 6'2"tall and slim and bless him has hollow legs
I think her Mum likes to spoil him.:) I can see good things ahead for them both. So three of my DDs sons are all courting nice lasses
Just need our gentle Jack to find the right girl now. he's had a few, but none seem to last very long Somewhere out there is a girl who will fit the bill I'm sure. He too is a kind caring young man and sadly has had a couple of girlfrinds who are not keen on a nice lad ,they seem to like it for awhile, then leave for a bad lad.
I guess it doesn't help that where he works is deep in the Kent countryside and he lives on site at the boarding school where he teaches, so is often on call, and his social life is a bit limited. Its around two miles to the nearest village even.
DD and my son-in-law also likes Henry's girlfriend and says its nice that he's taken his time to find a person similar to him in outlook and ways.
I'm so pleased to see how her four lads have all grown up to be hard working decent young men. I think the media tend to forget there are millions of young men just like them yet they portray a lot of millenials as workshy or troublesome The good guys never get a mention. But I suppose its the bad ones that sell the papers
Jade is also interested in waste not want not, and has similar ideas about making use of stuff as we do. We were talking about how much is wasted in the world today, and I was telling her about decluttering and how landfill is the last option .
I like to find a good home for unneeded stuff before actually going to the tip, and we both agree that far too much stuff is binned.
She likes what she's seen so far of the Island, and says its so nice to be away from the bustle of Kent and all the traffic and noise.
I said she must definitely return especially in the spring, to see how beautiful it is but to bring her wellies as if its been raining it can get quite muddy on walks.
She like to get out of the town as does Henry and they go for long country walks at weekends.
I'd give her a 10/10 and I had a short chat with him on his own, and said she's a nice lass and I definitely approve
He just grinned and said 'I knew you would Nan, as she has similar ideas as you have '
Bless him I know him so well, as I helped bring him and his siblings up for 15 years when his Mum had to go back to work when his youngest brother was 2.
After all five children under 11, and four of them boys, meant their shoe bill alone was eye watering
Sadly this afternoon they are off back to the medway on the 3.00 pm ferry but I feel sure they will be back again .We will probably take them and the dogs for a walk along the beach this morning to blow the cobwebs away its due to be dry today at least.
Tomorrow afternoon I have my U3A Christmas social at Arreton which will be nice as everyone that can come will do from all parts of the island, so you get to meet more folk as well as having a Christmas quiz and some nibbles.
Decluttering renews on Tuesday as there is paperwork to be sorted and shredded
Onwards and upwards chums

Morning all. Moved things around to accomodate Christmas tree and think I now have two tables/desks which I will not put back. May see if DIL can sell them. I'll get a picture and some dimensions. Yesterday started with a literal cat and mouse game as Sox came in with his first mouse. Pretty little thing and seemed unharmed although probably terrified. After a bit of a chase I caught it in a teatowel and released it away from the house. I hope it survived. Sox was very unhappy and spents hours searching for it. Seems to have forgotten about it this morning.
DGS4 here yesterday and overnight and spent hours playing football outside on his own - he is quite self sufficient. Then we baked some cakes - I had to hunt for where I had put baking things and realised I have no colouring and very few decorations. There was a pot of red things with tiny gingerbread men so we used those. I just broke off to make him a cooked breakfast with a bowl of fresh fruit as he was starving. His dad is doing roast lamb this afternoon so we will take cakes for pudding. DGD4 came and hoovered through and washed kitchen floor yesterday morning for which she gets some pocket money. I need to get on with a few small jobs like emptying dishwasher and washing machine and tidying up. There are things to go away which have a home to be in. Microwave needs a clean as well. Debating whether to hang washing out or not. I may just hang things which can't go in dryer and be lazy with the rest.
1197 Last of Christmas cards posted
1198 More presents wrapped and sorted
1199 Small Christmas tree for DGS4's windowsill. He decorated it and I found some battery lights.
1200 Small item ordered from MrA for DGS4
1201 Free standing dressing table mirror bought for DGD4's room here - hoping DS2 is putting the dressingtable together today. Packaging out.
Hoping to finish last off shopping on Tuesday with DIL after work. I need a cup of tea then I will get on with things.
