Big shout out to @vulpix and mum who made the most wonderful lap blankets that will go to the hub and go out to Ukraine.
I’ve been away for a long weekend and only arrived home this evening, wonderful surprise to see that the cat sitter had popped the parcel in the kitchen for me, it was lovely to open and the blankets will bring a lot of joy to those in desperate need.
I hope baby J is doing better

Dropped another CS bag, counted everything in it apart from added another pair of trousers, RM picked up a return parcel so packaging went out and 2 ood food. New fridge freezer arriving Thursday so trying to get through all the food. Have to turn it off the night before so could use cooler bag for some things but frozen veg will go, although managed to eat lots today.
Hope to be up early to do tidying before work tomorrow.
Neighbour going to be in checking on cats at the weekend so needs to be ok and for her not to think I've been burgled!16 -

Nothing much today, just 2 ebay sales, packed and ready to drop off at PO tomorrow before work. Dinner was left over chicken casserole, made with a sachet my dad gave me last month (he gave me about 5!!) Hung up an Ikea wardrobe organiser that is too big for my main wardrobe, so had to put it in the junk wardrobe, not too sure about it but it does make it easier to find things.
Also made 2 banana & ginger cakes - 1 for home and 1 for work.
Going to try and get an early night tonight as I've been waking up really late and feeling tired all day. I read that you get more and more tired the nearer to de@th you are, so that's cheery!! xx

Monday continued: we finally left at 12:05 & after a good run with no delays, we arrived at 13:20. I was dropped off at M’s place. She was waiting outside - lives in a flat in a retirement housing complex with a communal area, laundry room, resident management staff & a Care alarm system. A bit of a maze so M took me inside whilst DH & DSis drove round to the multi-storey car park (pre-booked & pre-paid) & walked back. That took long enough to give M time to show me around her flat. It has 2 large bedrooms (both with built in wardrobes, a living/dining room, compact kitchen & bathroom both of which M had put in new + 3 large built-in floor to ceiling cupboards. M has a lot of ‘stuff’ (and I do mean a lot - knickknacks on all flat surfaces apart from her dining table & seating, clothing, photos on all walls, & she does love her crafting including crochet, diamond art & even tatting 😉) but as opposed to her old flat everywhere is neat & tidy including the cupboards & far easier to dust. Just as we finished the tour, the buzzer went & M went to let DH & DSis in & gave them the tour. DH gave M her very belated60th birthday cards. We spent a happy 4 hours chatting & drinking coffee - M is another fan of DH’s orange rock cakes 😋 We left about 17:40 accompanied by M - walked to the multi storey car park & M continued on to her local takeaway. We had a fairly good run back & arrived home 19:15 having stopped at the chippy for DSis. DH had a stir fry (an 800 kcal day) whilst I had an individual shop bought steak pie.
I have fallen behind with the cheerleading……. again but did notice the new ‘interesting’ option in between ‘quote’ & ‘thanks’
Hope everyone had a good day 😊 Sleep tight 😴

Batteries to recycling
Pennies from the penny jar to the bank
Then headed off to the garden centre for some violas where we found some in the poorly plant section (just need some TLC) for £2!We also had coffee and Black Forest gateau at the garden centre. We ran into my beautician who was also having lunch with her husband (and escaping work for an hour).Bag of charity leaving the building today too.✒️ Declutter 2025 🏅👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

I keep falling behind! Nothing dramatic, just busy and rather tired.@Mrs_Salad_Dodger - it sounds like M is nicely settled in and I am glad you all had a lovely visit.@vulpix - hopefully baby J is getting stronger and will soon be ready for coming home to the family. It’s lovely that you were able to help with your grandson, although tiring for you I expect. I have lost track about the move but hope that it is imminent!
@Liverpool_Anne - I am pleased to hear that your DSis is recovering steadily.14 -
Floss, we are moving to the other side of town, a mile or so from where we are just now. A bigger house. I so hope I haven't made a mistake. The move has been stressful. I wouldn't do it again in a hurry. Showed my son pictures of the new house. He said they looked like crime scene photo's!
Thank you Happy Kitties and Moorviews. Mum and baby are still in hospital. Baby has got the idea now and voraciously feeding. He needs more tests and they will possibly let them home if they are ok.
I am very achy today, I don't think it's playing with a toddler, I think it's my son's mattress!
I haven't gone to the funeral in Nottingham. I need a bit of down time. Selfish but sadly needed. It has been very stressful recently, but tbh when isn't life stressful!
I have an urgent scan and appointment at hospital tomorrow for 9am. I will have to set off at 7am to have any chance at all of being there for that time. It's not that far, just very congested at that time of day.
Gave my son some things of his whilst I was there.
soft plastics recycled.
Nothing else to report.

I want a trumpet fanfare!!!
Told him that we'd be tidying up the glassware today and he charged at it like a good one!! All glasses removed from 2 areas - his parent's glassware cupboard in the dining room that is taking up space and I hoped to get rid of. And the shelves in the middle room in a big Ikea unit that used to be the place to store everything in our previous home.
Everything just fit on the dining room table. And I'd like to remind you we are a household of 2, just 2. He neatly divided everything up into what he thought we should keep and what we should dump. I shifted a couple of items (my Georg Jensen blown shot glasses acquired in Copenhagen on my first trip to Europe in 1975). (not sure why I'm keeping them as I never use them.....oh well.....I guess they bring me joy.....)
Then things started to go a bit wrong as he proceeded to put all the things that are to be kept into his parent's glassware cupboard rather than back into the Ikea unit. Instead he has territorially placed his boxed set of Edith Piaf LPs in one of the Ikea cubes. Which means he has lots more room to fill and will need to buy lots more LPs. Sigh. Maybe I can forget and start returning some glasses to the Ikea unit. Or would that be naughty?
Meanwhile - behold the vanquished!!! All now boxed up and ready to be taken to the charity shop. I hope they think there's a market for sherry glasses!!
(having some failure to launch issues.....)
