A pottering day although I did cut lawns. It was really too wet but it had grown whilst I was away - hope we get a couple of dry days so I can do it again before winter. Realised there is a wet patch in hall which may well be the other leak - plumber coming Tuesday. Sox has stayed around me most of the day but he's gone out now. Just eaten what I had in but will get a few bits of shopping tomorrow.
946 Banking done - spent lots last week but I had an unexpected £90 interest on one account
947 Swimming pool put away - store sorted and tidied along with accessories for pool etc
948 Random things gathered up and black bag filled up for bin
949 More shrubs in recycling bin
950 Both lawns cut
951 Three loads of washing done and most dry and put away (I used dryer where I could but it dried quite well outside)
952 Small gift and oddments to DS2
953 A couple of bits painted again in bedroom 2, sockets and light fittings cleaned off, window sill cleaned properly of paint spots, plaster etc
I have a local history trip tomorrow pm and I need to go into town in the morning so will take stuff to recycling centre. Flu and covid jabs on Tuesday pm. I need to go through all my emails and hopefully delete 95% of them. Congrats on new baby @vulpix - eveything crossed for your house move.2025 Decluttering Campaign 953/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

I have several perhaps 4 dinner jacket suits that my ex and my grown up boys have worn. Does anyone have any good suggestions as to where to send them. I can’t imagine there is much call for DJs in our local charity shops. Many thanks.11

Today started really early as I’m not sleeping so I cleaned the house and done all the laundry say by 7.30am.So I sorted out some what I call “bipolar high shopping” honestly I have zero idea why I got half the stuff I did because I’ve not even used it or even wanted it.. when I’m off the high and on a level plain , joys of having bipolar 🙄 so it got donated to charity and my neighbour. Also I re arranged the kitchen so it’s not looking all cluttered, caught up on laundry so I’m happy with that. I’m sure I’ll find something else to do later on.Trying to change my life and will:money:10

Late night for me watching a film on Apple with Matthew McConaughey. Much better than the Bridget Jones film last week. Managed to declutter a whole bottle of Prosecco and some Baileys
Got up late and spent most of the afternoon zombied out on the sofa watch YouTube
I did manage to sort out some bits from underneath my bed (only about 1/4 of the space)- Toy bag
- Spinning top toy
- 7 books
- Candle & Napkin set (?!)
- Electric Razor accessories
- Zipped bag
- Pair of Vans
- Kids mattress protector
- Belt
- 2 x boys trousers
- Pillowcase
- Random bits of paper (recycling)
- Dead pen (bin)
Also found a bunch of clothes, toys, etc that can go on Ebay/Vinted and (hopefully) make some money.
Off to have some dinner now and more telly xx

I haven't done much decluttering the last couple of weeks but on the plus side only a new cardigan has come into the house, I must find a piece of clothing to send to CS as I'm trying to keep to my one in and one out policy. Although that seems to have been forgotten with underwear, I stocked up on new stuff in July when I had 20% off and realised when I did my washing Thais week that the old tatty stuff with the exception of the socks with holes in are still in my drawers. A easy sit down job for next week.
A trip to Dorset last weekend and a weekend of sitting meant my hip complained most of last week, it's 100+ miles of driving each way, it's now stopped aching so no more excuses. A family afternoon tea at my eldest sister grew from five of my siblings and OHs (plus one ex SIL and her husband) to 26 of us and a couple of in-laws picking up nieces who stayed for a hour. 4 generations between 11 months and 85 years even a cousin invited herself 😁 and about twelve different cakes etc which were soon declutterred.
One of my sisters is obsessed by family history, my brother as well to a lot lesser extent so I was pleased to show them you could access Dorset Archives online (my sister demanded to know how I found that out when she didn't know!) I was able to show them a mention from the Kingston Lacey estate records before it was NT about a letter sent by my dad in the early 1950s to the estate manager and then spent ages finding family members for my sister, including a mention of a ancestor several times in 1824 appearing in court and his father a Poole customs house officer acting as surety, it's my mothers side and she would have been horrified 😁 she would have expected it from my fathers side who were 'Dorset peasants' we have a Tollpuddle martyr and someone involved in the Captain Swing Riots, that side were hot tempered as was my dad. I'm considered a failure in family history as I get side tracked by social history and don't really care if it's family or not.
Twenty books taken to Petworth yesterday and only three brought home, can someone tell me how I can remove twenty books from my book shelves and it looks the same? One bottle of gin left the house this morning but will return in three months as sloe gin, my friend went foraging and makes a great sloe gin or vodka. I was eying up the crab apples she picked as she is going to make crabapple and chilli jam, I'm hoping for a small jar 😁

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday was a bright sunny day with a high of 17°C, low of 9°C & a slight but chilly breeze. DH has been busy this afternoon - he trimmed our front hedge, cleared up the cuttings, vacuumed up some of the leaves; fed the worms; chopped up a bit more motorcade tyre. After I weighed out all the ingredients for 2 batches of orange rock cakes, DH made orange rock cakes (we are visiting DH’s niece M on Monday ☺️) Then he did the washing up & I dried & put away. I sorted my flowers - still have half a dozen blooms & all the greenery. Dinner was slow cooked sage & onion pork shoulder joint (which DSis didn’t like but DH & I did 😉) with roast potatoes, parsnips & carrots; cabbage, gravy & Yorkshire puddings. Wudupa.
1911 - 1912 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
1913 - 1914 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
DSis & I finally watched Strictly + the results show straight after. Correct person sent home.
TC77, ah I understand now, shared office space 🙂 Hopefully your cuppa in bed will spark an idea or two of how to sort your bedroom. Good luck with your list 🍀 Please remember to make a note of the tasks etc that you did ‘off list’ 😊 Great decluttering 👏 & I hope your friend takes the fleece 🤞Apologies but no idea about the soap although I am sure there will be a few people who can help 🤞
Liverpool_Anne, hopefully your B12 jab will take effect quickly & you can plough ahead with emptying the kitchen cupboards🤞Good news that your DSis can now get to the bathroom 😊 Shame it was such a short catch up with your ex-colleague & his wife, although after 20 years I imagine there was a lot to catch up on ☺️ This “I never realised there was so much choice in toilets 😂” had me in stitches 🤣 Excellent work getting so much laundry done 👏 I am really enjoying the conversation about recorders & other musical instruments 😊 At this rate we will be able to form our own Declutterati family orchestra 😉
Thanks to Willowtree222, moginstein & Liverpool_Anne for the interesting information about bars of soap 👏
Excellent work TC77 👏 Although you might not have done much off your list, you must be doing well as you have noticed This “Generally feeling abit more space and happier.” 🥹 As to any targets we set ourselves, I agree with you wholeheartedly “….. it helps to have a target for me and I wouldn't have done so much without” 😊
vulpix, so pleased to hear that Baby J is doing so much better even though he is still in SCBU. Hopefully your DiL is recovering well 🙏 Made me smile hearing that toddler is keeping you on your toes 😆
I have fallen behind again but I do need to get to bed earlier so that I won’t fall asleep when visiting M 😉 I am feeling sleepy as I had a bath & am just letting my hair dry before I go to bed. Sleep tight 😴
