- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday: Back again 😉 Pleased to say I did do something 😉 As a prelude to sorting out my wardrobe, I decided to practise with DH’s wardrobe 😅 I made a good start by emptying the five shelves one at a time & sorting into piles on our bed. Checked with DH as I went along. Sorted into 4 piles - 1. motorcycle clothing 2. jumpers & cardigans 3. respectable day to day/smart clothing and 4. stained clothing for gardening/dirty jobs (to be worn to destruction & binned) Then emptied & sorted the shelf above the hanging rails. This shelf now contains the motorcycle clothing & the jumpers/cardigans plus our expensive Panama hats & spare belts. The top shelf of 5 contains the stained clothing, next shelf down contains good jeans & trousers, the bottom shelf contains armoured motorcycle jeans which DH will try on although he doesn’t think the legs are wide enough to fit comfortably 😞 so will probably be donated to CS. The other 2 shelves are currently empty but will be utilised for smart tops & overflow t-shirts from the CoD - which is my next job. Only 2 items decluttered - old base layer motorcycle trousers binned 1840 + a hoodie (1841) that DH wore once having bought it just after he had his accident - 14 years ago 😉 It has the immortal words “IS MY BIKE OKAY?” on the front but written upside down 😂 DH also brought down a couple more bits from his office - the old knackered computer & another cable which have been added to the Tip pile (1842 & 1843) Dinner was fried chicken pieces with boiled potatoes & peas. Wudupa
1844 - 1846 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, newspaper - recycled
1847 - 1848 Kitchen & lr detritus - binned
GrannyKate, what a busy day with some excellent decluttering & completion of frogs & jobs 👏 Fingers crossed that you have finished your packing & that the plasterer turned up & has finished the job 🤞 Please, please take it easy on Thursday especially as you are already sore & stiff 🙏 As to This “When my sister lands in Scotland tomorrow it will 60 years to the day since she left to work as a nanny in US - she was 18.” just 🤩 Now I am curious as to whether or not your sister has an American accent 😉 Yikes to having to buy a new tyre but as you say better safe than sorry. Hope you have a wonderful time in Scotland & that the weather is kind 🙏 What a gorgeous photo although Mr Sox looks very serious 🧐
florianatwobob, sounds like you had a lovely time in Yorkshire 😊 Loved This “Whilst in York DSis and I visited a Masonic lodge. That was an interesting experience….. and they wanted me as a new recruit. I didn’t realise women could be free masons but apparently they can! Not for me though.” I am definitely curious as to why they wanted to recruit you 🤔 🙊
TC77, DD1’s flat sounds wonderful ☺️ & it sounds like you are inspired & have a renewed passion for decluttering 🥹
Lovely post Deni_debt-free_dreamer ☺️ Sorry to hear that you are ill 😞 Sending healing vibes & many cwtches 🤗
Excellent & eclectic decluttering suzeesu2000 👏 Sorry to hear that you had a bad night & weren’t too good today 😞 Healing vibes & cwtches 🤗 also coming your way. This “……. we’ve been together 35 and married for 10. Had to test him out first!” had me in stitches 🤣 I only waited 4 years before getting married 😉 thought I should snap him up quickly before anyone else did 🥹
purplevamp, the following is an explanation of what a Frog is (kindly supplied by daisy_1571 some time ago 👏)
“A FROG 🐸 comes from the idea that if you get up in the morning and one of your tasks for the day is to eat a frog, you gotta just get on and do it and thats the worst thing you'll do that day out the way. So when we have tasks we have shelved for a while we refer to them as frogs. If we know they are small tasks that can turn into frog for us i.e. post piles up on a flat surface, if you deal with that day's post it can be referred to as a tadpole i.e. it would have grown into a frog if not done. Sometimes we leave frogs for so long they turn into cane toads. I think they are a large amphibian. Often members of the declutterati find that when they finally get round to doing a frog it was actually only a tadpole. Thats a win. A frog that grows arms and legs and turns into a couple of cane toads, well that's NOT a good day !” Therefore ‘Frog Tickling’ is starting the work needed to complete any task that you have delayed but needs doing.
All caught up 🥳 Sleep tight everyone 😴

I suspect MrsSD that member numbers are falling due to age (judging by the members we met). Whilst we were in Ripon we saw another lodge with a banner outside saying ‘You don’t need to know a mason to become one’.Anyway I was asking questions because I was curious (and the opportunity presented itself after all) and they became very keen about making sure I had their contact details.✒️ Declutter 2025 🏅👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Hi all, a reasonable day yesterday 😁. A union thing landed so a start made on that and should be finished today 😁. A pair of sunday socks put in the rag bag, meds collected and different meds ordered, 1 LDFPA, the kitchen recycling and lr bin emptied and a broken slat on one of the garden chairs was replaced. The garden chairs need replacing really as they are over 20 years old and honestly haven't been maintained as well as they should have been so while the metal bits are fine having been painted with that special paint the wooden bits are slowly rotting away having had only about 2 coats of varnish in all that time and are left out in all weathers but they are still useable so will wait 😁.
Quick update on Dsis, she managed to get out of bed into a chair yesterday and sent me a photo of herself sitting in it 😁. Her bp is still a bit of an issue but seems to be sorting itself out, the antibiotics seem to be working and the pneumonia is improving and she sounds much more positive, phew 😁. I will try to speak to her today. Dnephew has had to go back to work today but Dniece is there. I think I will have to send her a bottle of gin to help her survive coping with her ddad 😂. I could fill a book with her rants about him and now Dnephew has gone she will need something to help her get through it 😂.
Today I have to go to the Drs to collect a blood test form for next week's appointment, pop in to a sports shop to get a pair of trainers OH wants for Christmas as they are in the sale atm and I have had a text to say I need to book a phone appointment with the pharmacist for a meds review 🙄. This is a new one on me, normally my meds reviews are with the practice nurse but we shall see how it goes 😁. I also have another load of washing swishing so that can go on the line when it's done 😁.
@Mrs SD lovely flowers and belated congratulations 😁. Sounds like you had a lovely day 😁. I like the way you have organised Mr SD's wardrobe. I also have a section for clothes suitable only for gardening etc and are to be worn to death 😁. The problem with that is those are the t shirts that seem to live forever while my presentable t shirts continue to get stained etc and add to the gardening pile 😂.
@Vulpix hope the eye hospital goes well, hugs
Right the washing has finished so better get weaving.

Good afternoon, just. My brain just doesn't want to cooperate today and I've just managed to lose my post.
So, Thank you for the messages about my uncle, and congratulations to all that should have them (birthday, married, anniversary) im so sorry, I can't remember who they were for.
I couldn't believe the scan on a Sunday either Mrs SD but there was already people coming out when I arrived at 8.45. And then they've made my doctor appointment for next week at 7am! I didn't know they did them that early either, I don't mind, its done and out of the way for the day then.
Monday was a quick clean of the bathroom. Tuesday i tackled my tops, trousers and jumper drawers. I have a bag of clothes for the charity shop. Some of it over 20 years old and waiting in case I suddenly fit in them, now looking old and discoloured straight in the rag bag.
Yesterday was kitchen and nothing actually decluttered.
Today should be dining room but all I've managed so far is to get DS2 off to college, load washer and dishwasher and then decluttered a nap. DD2 woke me up and now I feel shocking but must go put the washing out.
Washing machine has just finished so going to put it out.LBM in April 17 - Starting card debt £33554

Got up really late this (just!) morning. Sorted whites on airer and folded what had dried.
This afternoon, all apart from 2 pairs DHs shorts were dry so folded and did the ironing.
Loaded dark wash onto airer, I’m trying very hard not to use the tumble dryer.
Decluttered a new, still in original packaging throw to Christmas box.
Dinner all freezer and pantry shelves for us both.
Finally tackled the sideboard. I used to make cards and have a load of them waiting to be used. Well, now there are less of them.Found some packs of Christmas cards I didn’t know I had so they’ve gone in the Christmas box too. Organised all the candles with
a box of matches to shelf where it’s easy to get to in the dark. I used to burn a candle all the time but Frankie is such an inquisitive
little chap, I don’t think it would be safe, so they are just for emergency use now. He was loving the cupboards on the sideboard being
open and thoughtfully tidied himself onto a shelf while I was working, wish I’d managed to get a photo.
Wont need to buy envelopes until the next millennium either. Found some photo frames that I had lost. The drawers were not touched
as they were okay.
Also Decluttered some empty battery boxes; why does DH put an empty box back in the drawer? That’s me for the day. Doesn’t sound much but I seem to have been “doing” all day.
Have a good night all, sleep tight xxSaving 1 animal wont change the world - but it will change the world for that 1 animal
