Sox does take supervising the workers and me very seriously. Pretty much set for my trip tomorrow. Lots of work going on next door whilst I am away so Sox will be annoyed. My sister arrived in Edinburgh late this afternoon - I understand journey, especially the last leg from Dublin, was problematic. I'll no doubt hear all about it tomorrow. Mrs SD - yes she does have an American accent. She married an American, went to college when her girls were small and became a lawyer. At college she used to get 'this is the English spelling' written on her work which she countered with 'yes but this is the English language'.
DIL and children came for tea. A few bits done today.

Hi, an eventful day for me. The eye consultant thinks I may have a rare immune issue and has requested an urgent appointment with rheumatology department and another appointment with her next Thursday. How am I not surprised, I just have to be different. Also got cataracts. Not surprised at the immune issue, never realised it could affect your sight. I had immune issues after I had Covid for the first time.
Dil phoned, she was diagnosed with gestational diabetes last week. New baby will be delivered next Thursday as he is too big. It will be the date of my Dad's Birthday.
Mr V has gone away with his son until Monday. I have had a washing frenzy. Washed his duvet and cover, all the towels and mended the giant rip in the bed sheet and washed that, When his duvet is dry, I will use it and wash mine. Also washed pillowcases and pillow protectors.
Haircut tomorrow.
Take care all Vx:17 -

purplevamp, the following is an explanation of what a Frog is (kindly supplied by daisy_1571 some time ago 👏)
“A FROG 🐸 comes from the idea that if you get up in the morning and one of your tasks for the day is to eat a frog, you gotta just get on and do it and thats the worst thing you'll do that day out the way. So when we have tasks we have shelved for a while we refer to them as frogs. If we know they are small tasks that can turn into frog for us i.e. post piles up on a flat surface, if you deal with that day's post it can be referred to as a tadpole i.e. it would have grown into a frog if not done. Sometimes we leave frogs for so long they turn into cane toads. I think they are a large amphibian. Often members of the declutterati find that when they finally get round to doing a frog it was actually only a tadpole. Thats a win. A frog that grows arms and legs and turns into a couple of cane toads, well that's NOT a good day !” Therefore ‘Frog Tickling’ is starting the work needed to complete any task that you have delayed but needs doing.

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday: A slightly brighter day than yesterday with a forecast high of 20°C, low 10°C but with a chilly breeze making it feel a couple of degrees cooler. After no collection last week, the recycling wheelie bin was emptied this morning 🥳 Good job too as it was full to the brim. DH went out early in the car & delivered his motorcycle trousers to the repair shop. He got back 13:45 & then he & DSis left 14:05 to go shopping armed with the list I had just written 😉 When they got back I put most of the shopping away. DH went for a walk & whilst he was out I sorted out 2 drawers in the CoD - t-shirts & tops. The slightly shabby/very old t-shirts are now on a shelf in the wardrobe but there is still one empty shelf 🙂 All that is left to sort of DH’s is the undies drawer & the hanging space in his wardrobe. DH was on an 800kcal day so had a stir fry. DSis & I had individual steak pies, mash & baked beans. Wudupa.

TC77, sorry to hear that you aren’t sleeping well 🙁 Hopefully the decorator’s visit went smoothly & he has completed all the snagging 🤞Just wondering if you were given an acceptable explanation about the higher bill 🤔 Shame that you have been unable to sell your dad’s house ☹️ Hopefully the work to get the house ready for rental won’t be too expensive 🤞
florianatwobob, that is very interesting 🧐 The only ‘information’ I have about Masonic lodges has all come from TV programmes - so I think you can probably guess what sort of information I have 😂
vulpix, hope your eye appointment went well 🙏

Good morning.
Yesterday I started the dining room, moved a few bits about, decided there was too much stuff and went and made a tea. It'll be easier once kids bedrooms are done and their things get moved out of there.
I did decide to tackle a bit of the kids room as everytime i tell the kids, they spend ages and it looks no different. The wash basket is now full from their carpet of socks and clothes (still folded i might add and look like the dog has used them for a bed) loads of rubbish and DC6 sorted through 3 school bags. 2 haven't been used since they moved in with us over a year ago but we're still full. 2 bags binned as the straps were broken and im washing the other for me to use as I usually borrow one of the kids if I need a bag.
Swept what I could see of the new found floor and it already looks a lot better.
Not sure how much will get done today as I think I have the DGC later.

Hi all, busyish day yesterday. 1 LDFPA, 1 pair of Sunday knicks to the rag , after inspecting the load from the line 😁. The blood form collected and while I was at the Drs explained that I had not been able to book the phone call with the pharmacist for the meds review as the link took me to a form to fill in and it said form not available !!!!! The lovely receptionist then sorted it out for me so I have a phone call booked for 14th October 😁. Small sm shop for fruit and when I got home some of the leaves from the front garden were put in the green bin, but I am expecting more to arrive after storm Amy has passed over but the green bin is now full so they will have to be bagged up and taken to the tip.
Then I worked on the union thing until tea but I didn't finish it and I will get it finished today.
Had a phone call to Dsis and she was much brighter and more positive, she had been out of bed with the help of the physio and occy health person so progress but still not on the crutches yet. She is wanting to come home next week but I think she might be optimistic with that. They have also found she has a leaky heart valve, minor and they will monitor it.
@Vulpix immune system issues are very tricky. I have done a small amount of research into this due to OH's health issues and I was amazed at the number of things it can cause. I hope the immunologist can help, big hugs.
Right I need to crack on with the union thing so had better get weaving
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Friday: it has been raining as very damp outside. Today is very overcast & forecast to rain on & off all day with a high of 18°C, low 14°C & a chilly wind. P.S. it has been raining on & off 😞 ERNIE wasn’t very friendly this month, nothing for me but generous to DH £225. Apparently DSis didn’t win anything either 😞 Now settling down with a cuppa & will attempt to catch up with the cheerleading
Liverpool_Anne, a busy Wednesday with some great decluttering 👏 Pleased to hear that your DSis is improving at last - it sounds like that ‘lovely nurse’ is having a positive effect as well as the antibiotics of course ☺️ Perhaps you should write a book just for your Dniece so that she can add notes about any ‘improvements’ her dad makes 🙊 although it sounds like a bottle of gin would be more welcome 🥹 Re the meds review with the pharmacist rather than the practice nurse, the pharmacist will have a better understanding & knowledge of how various meds interact with each other. Also it might be easier to get an appointment with him/her 🤞As to This “……I like the way you have organised Mr SD's wardrobe. I also have a section for clothes suitable only for gardening etc and are to be worn to death 😁. The problem with that is those are the t shirts that seem to live forever while my presentable t shirts continue to get stained etc and add to the gardening pile 😂.” sounds very familiar 🙊 I think it is also an indication of the drop in quality of fabrics used 😞
Sorry to hear about Wednesday’s brain fog charlies_tribe 😔 This “I couldn't believe the scan on a Sunday either Mrs SD but there was already people coming out when I arrived at 8.45. And then they've made my doctor appointment for next week at 7am! I didn't know they did them that early either, I don't mind, it’s done and out of the way for the day then.” is amazing 🤩 Excellent work with the cleaning & decluttering 👏 especially the clothing decluttering on Tuesday - a medal 🏅 is on its way.
Great decluttering Rootle 👏
suzeesu2000, you might have got up late on Thursday but you managed to get a lot done 🥳 Great work finishing off all the laundry including the ironing 👏 & very MSE avoiding using the td 👏 How thoughtful of you to declutter the sideboard cupboards to create a new sleeping space for Frankie 😉 Yippee to finding the ‘lost’ photo frames 🥳 A medal 🏅 is on its way for getting so much done 😊
DH is making soup so I broke off from cheerleading to assist him as it is my job to get the ingredients for him - from fridge & freezer as generally apart from the mirepoix our soups are made from leftovers 😉 Of course now distracted so will post this & come back later. Hope everyone is having as good a day as possible 😊 Sending cwtches to all 🤗

Initial frame sorting done.
A couple of pieces of art (aka my masterpieces!! (LOL)) framed up and a few more unframed and assigned to the storage pit for future reference (aka "what the fluff was I doing in 2025??").
Will reconsider a couple more and then pack the ones not needed into the boot of the car for Thursdays art class and the bag that I know no one will want at art group can go to the charity shop. I won't just dump them there - I'll ask if they want them or if the spare glass will fit any frames them might have that need glass. If they aren't happy with any of it I'll bin things instead. I don't like to dump unusable stuff at the chazzers - they get more than enough junk left on their doorstep.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
