Hi all, quick update on Dsis. The surgeon came to see her yesterday and said they had decided to do a full knee replacement as in her case it would be less complicated and she had that done yesterday. She sent a text to say all went well but feeling sore and very tired. Only to be expected. I have tried to phone her this morning but have not yet got an answer.
Yesterday was quite productive. Medical thing sorted then had a hair cut. Kitchen bin and kitchen recycling filled and emptied, sweep around upstairs and bedroom bin emptied. Pair of garden trainers binned as they were starting to split. I have others to wear 😁. I chose to clean the patio furniture so 2 rags from the rag bag binned 😁.
@Soontobeoap how very annoying that the fire surround people have cancelled the order. You will be getting a full refund I assume, not that that is the point. I am wondering if there is anyone on the island who could make one for you which should remove the delivery complications. Sometimes people who make other things will do things like this. I had a friend who wanted a marble fire place and her local cemetery headstone maker did a great job for her 😁. Depending on what you want it might be worth asking around, good luck. Nice photo, I like the colour 😁
@Mrs SD I have similar problems with people ignoring my instructions to use the landline. I have problems getting a signal on my mobile in the house and have often missed calls on my mobile. I have told the Drs several times but it doesn't seem to get me anywhere. If I am at home I will answer the land line and if I am out I don't want to be discussing medical things in a public place. Text messages I don't mind so much as I can deal with them when I get home.
@weenancyinAmerica I don't know how you keep so calm. I would be having a serious rant about some of the things you have to deal with, big hugs
@TC77 yes mattresses can be difficult to pass on. Last time I had a new one I chopped up the old one and put it in the bin / recycling over several weeks 😁. The only way to choose a mattress is to go to the bed shops and try them unless you know someone who will let you try theirs and knows where they got theirs from. Nothing worse than an uncomfortable mattress 😁. Next time you trip over something just deal with that if you don't know what to do next. Easier said than done I know but it will help 😁
@GrannyKate my childhood dog always found things to roll in but he was my constant companion when I was young, in the days when children went out to play, and we wandered far and wide 😂. I am not sure who was the grubbiest when we got home, we both ended up having to have a bath often 😂.
Right the sun is out and I have a load of washing just finished so will get that on the line and I think I will spend some time in the garden before I head out to the footy this evening 😁
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Tuesday continued: I left at 11:00 & bumped into neighbour J at the bus stop. He was going to visit his mum. We chatted about the difficulty of arranging appointments etc if you don’t have a mobile phone 😖 - he has a friend who, like me, doesn’t have a mobile. I got to the surgery in plenty of time for my appointment & when checking in at reception I requested that DH’s mobile no. was removed from my records. Fingers crossed that DH stops getting messages now🤞The nurse practitioner was very nice. I did explain about my ‘white coat syndrome’ but agreed to have BP taken. Pleasantly surprised that although still high 152/105 this was a huge improvement as previously it would shoot up to 200/120. She did offer online courses for both weight loss & stop smoking programmes - but apart from googling, using notes & calendar & posting on MSE I am stuck in my ways & will only do face to face 😉 Sadly the NHS don’t have the best track record of keeping personal data safe 😞 She also weighed me & again a pleasant surprise as I was 1kg lighter than home scales 🙂 Back to reception to book the blood test & get a sample pot. Lucky enough to get an appointment this afternoon for the blood test 🥳 Home by 12:05. Made myself a hot drink, set reminder & then decided to clean the bathroom ✔️ DH has just phoned (13:20) & has had a very successful week - lost 1.7kg 🥳 He is considering signing up again as he likes the discipline of turning up every week 🙂 Now I think I should do some cheerleading 😉
TC77 😠 to losing your post a couple of times. Excellent decluttering especially impressed with This “Wanted to post yesterday that I was proud of myself, took photos of posh trousers and skirt to then list and decided to just put in CS bag, and used the time to make dinner.”👏 You should be very proud 🥹 & just to confirm this I am awarding you a medal🏅 I enjoyed reading This “Enjoying the 'micro spaces of calm' which appear.” 😊 Although not sure DD2 has quite grasped the concept of decluttering & keeping the created space 🙊 Fingers crossed that the job situation is resolved quickly 🤞 so that you can plan a trip to Oz. I still have no duvet but have added a fleecy bedspread on top of the winter duvet cover 😉 You are doing so well with the decluttering 👏 keep up the good work ☺️
charlies_tribe, good luck with laying the floor & decorating the bedroom 🍀 Hopefully it won’t take too long as you are working in an empty room 🤞Sounds like you had a lovely time on Sunday ☺️ just a real pain about the puncture & having to buy a new tyre ☹️ An expense you could have done without 😞
Brambling, excellent work 👏 Not only is it lovely to have a friend to help you declutter but it is also very impressive that you accepted her offer 🥹 I am awarding you each a medal🏅🏅 P.S. The hallway looks great 😊
StickyTheStickInsect, so very sorry to hear about your Mum 😔 Such a shame that your DD didn’t get Head Girl 😞 Great news that the shed is now in place & that half of it is completely sorted 👏 It must such a relief to have your front room back 😊 Hopefully you will find time to drop bags off at the CS so you will have even more space 🤞
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Having time to crochet shows just how far along you are with your packing 🥳 Relieved to hear that your toe is getting better 😮💨 although I am putting in a request that you try to avoid any further injuries before your move 🙏
DH has just got home 14:18 & is about to have soup for lunch. I will have mine after my blood test 😉 However as I have managed to finish the cheerleading for Sunday’s posts I will post this & come back later. DSis has just put a load of towels in the wm.

@Liverpool_Anne wishing your sister a speedy recovery. Trying hard to deal with things straight away, but then laptop charger connects to the right and not the left where it wouldn't be a trip hazard that's work one but personal one is fine. Will set up work station in extension with underfloor heating and that should be fine as cable will be where dd2 bike is and not moving
Mrs SD thank you for my medal..
3 a level items picked up, have late work thing but trying to tidy kitchen each evening.
Impressed by all work being done..decorators nearly finished but some things need snagging which I always find difficult. Message to self not to move where too much needs doing!11 -

Soon to be oap, your room will be stunning.
Well done Mr SD. Once again I fear to have found the weight you have lost.
Your sister seems to be very laid back Liverpool Anne, wishing her a speedy recovery.
I confess to buying a chest from FB. I have spent the evening scraping off the old varnish with a vegetable knife. I need to occupy myself. There is a massive problem with the house move. The person at the top of the chain has lost their mortgage offer. We are all in limbo.
Had a nice time at craft club today. I seem to be making a lovely new friend. A lady who joined a couple of months ago. Gave someone at craft club a ball of green wool for her to knit holly leaves. Also passed on a bag of blister packs for the WI collection.

Back again 😉 The blood test was very quick - I left home 15:15 & was back by 16:00. Very proficient phlebotomist as I was watching so saw the needle go in but didn’t feel it 👏 Everyone is fending for themselves tonight - DH is having a stir fry with the last of the pork (which I shredded), DSis is having paté on toast & I am having hm soup with the last bit of rye bread. Just thought I’d mention that now DH is completely happy with his new computer, we have broken up the boxes & put them in the recycling wheelie bin & binned the last of the polystyrene packaging. Thelma soup was delicious 😋 Wudupa

Back to the cheerleading:
BlueJ94, crikey that was cold 🥶 Fingers crossed that the jeans in the CS were still available 🤞
Liverpool_Anne, what a busy Sunday with some great decluttering 👏 Hope that both the ‘medical thing’ & the haircut went well 🙏
TC77, hopefully your mojo for both swimming & aqua aerobics will return 🤞Yah boo to This “Decorators back and found a crack small pane of glass but cost of replacement is ouch!” 😣 Good luck with the frogs 🍀
Lovely post daisy_1571 ☺️ Really enjoyed This “I'm procrastinating instead of getting on. Only a short while till tea time so hardly worth getting started ??? Lol, the things we tell ourselves!” 🙊 you could be writing this about me 🤣
A very busy Sunday BlueJ94 👏 Yippee to the jeans still being available 🥳 It would have been rude not to buy them at £1 each 😅 I saw your photos & immediately felt hungry 😋 Well done sorting out the balance transfer 👏 & good luck with clearing the debt 🍀
Brie, interesting question about the dog handles 🤔 Yuck to This “Reminds me of cat sitting for a friend who lived by a lake and in the middle of the night the cat would leave rotting fish she'd found on the direct route between the bedroom I was staying in and the bathroom. Bleugh! I learned to turn on the lights....” 🤢 “Leeches” is a good word for CC companies as well as other financial institutions 😉 Good luck with This “Decluttering will start again tomorrow when I try to figure out how to jam the holiday souvenirs in to what ever space we have left anywhere.” 🍀
charlies_tribe, so pleased to hear that DGD ‘loved’ her bus trip 😊 I do love the wonderment in a child’s face when they first do something 🥹 I still remember when we took my nephew on the Tube for the first time ☺️ As to This “We got to where the appointment was to find it actually wasn't. The man on reception said 'well it might say here but it’s at one of our sister sites' and im to know that how!?!” you obviously lost your ability to read minds 🙊 sorry…….. Great work by DH - finishing the floor & getting ready to decorate 👏 Has DD2 chosen her own colour scheme or is it down to mum & dad 😉 Good grief is that how much a car tyre costs 😧
BlueJ94, very interesting information about the dog harnesses with handles 🙂
Soontobeoap, what a busy Monday 🤩 What a great job you have made of painting the windows & skirting 👏 Love the paint colour 😊 As to This “Mid morning I received another email from fire surround company saying they had no alternative than to cancel the order and try to sell it to someone else. I was so angry that I wrote them and email right back telling them what I thought. Checked it with DH before I sent it and he asked me if I would like him to edit it.( I was getting ready for craft group and really didn't have the time) As I was ready to leave DH read me his newly written email which said all of the things that I had wanted to convey but in a much more professional manner. We await further correspondence from them!!!!!!!!” it beggars belief 😖 I will keep everything crossed that this can be sorted out to your satisfaction 🤞
weenancy, I read This “I think I am going to have to get myself a load of sand and pretend I am on vacation somewhere. It is supposed to be 29C tomorrow - and for the rest of the week above 26C. We have no air conditioning here - just a couple of fans.” & immediately thought that a bucket & spade wouldn’t go amiss as well as a waiter/waitress serving you cold drinks on request 😊 Sorry to hear that all your roommates are ill ☹️ Hopefully you can avoid getting ill 🙏 otherwise the cats will have to fend for themselves 😉
BlueJ94, good luck in your search for new mugs 🍀
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 just a shame that CS that you normally use were closed ☹️ Good luck in your hunt for a double mattress 🍀 Hopefully work will advise when they are going to let their employees know what is happening & you will be able to book your holiday 🤞
Excellent decluttering GrannyKate 👏 especially decluttering your blood sugar level to normal & dealing with frogs 🥳 Yuck to the smelly fish & then having to spend the night in a caravan with the dog 🤢
Excellent decluttering Happy_Kitties 👏 & a great start on your Bags of Joy 👏
Lovely chatty post Liverpool_Anne 😊 Hopefully having had a less complicated surgery, your DSis’s recovery will be a lot quicker 🙏 Great decluttering 👏 Hope the footy went well 🤞
TC77, great work keeping the kitchen tidy 👏 Pleased to hear that the decorators have almost finished 😊 Good luck with both the snagging & remembering your “Message to self not to move where too much needs doing!” 🍀
BlueJ94, fingers crossed that the balance update to your old CC has now updated 🤞Good luck using your soup maker 🍀
Great decluttering TC77 👏
vulpix, This “Had a nice time at craft club today. I seem to be making a lovely new friend. A lady who joined a couple of months ago. Gave someone at craft club a ball of green wool for her to knit holly leaves…...” is wonderful 🥹 Re This “There is a massive problem with the house move. The person at the top of the chain has lost their mortgage offer. We are all in limbo.” Oh for goodness sake, what a nightmare 😰 & just as you were seeing a light at the end of the tunnel 😢 The whole situation defies belief 😖
All caught up 🙂 Sleep tight 😴

Hi all, quick post, yesterday 1 LDFPA, 2 bags of garden chopping into the green bin, random plastic things found in the garden into the hard plastic bin bag to go to the tip and the lr bin emptied after a sweep around 😁. Footy last night was a bit stressful but we won 😂. I managed a long phone call to my Dsis who was a bit down when I first spoke to her but was much better by the time we finished our chat 😁. She had had a visit from the physios who had got her out of bed and standing for a short time but her bp had dropped so they put her back in bed rather than the chair. She had lost a lot of blood during the op, had a blood transfusion and extra fluids and was waiting for an iron infusion. Told her I was coming to stay after Dniece has returned to Bequia and she was very pleased about that, said she was grateful and does appreciate it. When I told OH what she said OH said "WOW just WOW" 😂. I think my Dsis is finally beginning to appreciate my finer qualities 😂 only taken her 70 years to get over the sudden arrival of a screaming baby at the age of 12 😂. Dniece and I will co ordinate depending on when she returns to Bequia so not sure when I'll be going but it is what it is 😁.
Today as the sun is out again I am back in the garden, just too nice to stay indoors but I have another medical thing later and I have to order some flowers for a birthday present so I better get weaving pronto or nothing will be done 😁
@Vulpix words fail me, I would be tearing my hair out. Big hugs.
Hugs to everyone who would like one
