Thanks for the medal Mrs SD I hope the bruise isn't too sore.
My hip is still dictating what I can or can't do but I have put a bag with ten items in the car which I'll take to the CS when I volunteer in town on Friday. My hall chair and mahjong set have gone to be restored, he is a one man company so it will take four or five weeks when he fits them around bigger jobs, I need to drop off some fabric and braid with him but he's only a five minute drive away. Both items are being repaired for sentimental reasons.
I managed to jam my cutlery drawer tonight I got it open just enough to pull some big knives out and then fit in the pallet knife blade and after some swearing clear the issue, so that is on my to do list for tomorrow . My sister will be happy she hates it being so disorganised. I may do the other drawers when I'm in there.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin13 -
Hi, no news other than it's a septic tank issue!
I bought a clock at the chazzer today. The woman at the till said, I don't have clocks in my house, I don't believe in time. I am STILL pondering that one.
I have finished another lap blanket.
Going to Nottingham tomorrow, DD2's Birthday.
Love to everyone Vx:14 -

Me again 😉 I set myself a 20 minute time limit to weed the front path with my trusty battery operated weeder. Managed to do the whole path in 18 minutes 🥳 Of course I am knackered now 😪 but at least I have been outside & got some exercise 😉 DH, DSis & T got back just before 18:00 - I put away the shopping. DSis & T hadn’t managed to have anything to eat (café closed at 16:00) so I heated up some pea & bacon linguine for T & DSis made herself a bacon sandwich. Delayed cooking dinner until 19:45 - dry fried sliced mushrooms, roasted some tomatoes at the same time as cooking oven chips & peas. DH cooked the steaks whilst I laid the table. 20:30 we sat down to dinner which was delicious 😋 DH had cooked everyone’s steak to perfection. Stayed at the table for a while chatting. Then settled down to watch TV - Antiques Road Trip & Vera. T went to bed about 00:30 as DSis decided he would be more comfortable in her bed & she will sleep on the sofa. Wudupa.

TC77, surprisingly the bruise doesn’t hurt 😮💨 That is a pretty steep price increase 😥 & the decorators should have been keeping you apprised of the situation as they were working 😞 Hopefully the situation can be sorted out amicably 🤞
Floss, lovely post with practical advice 😊
Soontobeoap, I can’t say I blame you for cancelling the fire surround 🙁 Pleased to hear that they refunded you immediately 😊 but still annoying 😖 However This “Carpenter who has fitted hearth is going to make one for me. No delivery charge needed at all and I know that he will do a good job. He wasn't keen in the first place but having seen what we are going through with it all he has come to the rescue.” is great news 🥳 When I read This “2nd coat of blue finished on one wall today. Removed masking tape between the 2 different colours and it bought the paint with it!! I am not going to lie. I actually cried!” I almost cried as well 😢 Hopefully it isn’t too difficult to repair the damage 🙏 By the way Not pathetic at all especially after you had been so careful 😔 I will join daisy in sending a few more hugs 🤗 🤗 🤗
Lovely post daisy_1571 😊 full of useful decorating tips 😊
TC77, re This “Making a silk purse out of a pig's ear comes to mind. I used to sign off work on listed buildings many decades ago and maybe have too high expectations and getting above myself 🙂” nothing wrong with expecting someone to do good job - after all they are the professionals. I hope you joined vulpix in the TLC Carriage 😉
DSis is nodding off & wants to go to bed or should that be sofa 😉 so I will post now & go to bed. Will finish the cheerleading tomorrow. Sleep tight everyone 😴 Hopefully tomorrow will bring better news all round 🙏

Morning all!
Work yesterday was absolutely chaos. We have people off sick, people off who just can't be bothered to turn up to work, a branch manager who no longer helps with anything as its not her job apparently 🙄 so myself and someone else had to run shop and do the warehouse it was mentally and physically draining!
I came home and did absolutely nothing, I was so tired. Ive woken up this morning feeling the exact same. I cant wait for the weekend.
When i come home from work today I have to unload dishwasher, reload too. Take washing off the line and re tackle the washing that has built up in the three days I haven't done any 😩 my OH is self employed and usually works from home as he has two jobs, but his other job which is more manual has been his focus in the last week so hes not been home to do the washing either.

Morning all. Hugs seem to be needed all round. DGC's have been poorly but back at school. DIL seems to have got it worse and has been off sick all week for the first time in years. I have a slight sore throat and a sniffle but ignoring it. Dentist today to replace filling.
Plumber came yesterday - leak was under bedroom 2 floor as expected. Looked like a screw that wasn't straight had nicked side of pipe and when work was ongoing last week a small hole became a big problem. Probably been leaking slightly for ages. Yet another bill will be heading my way but I had a hot shower last night and heating has come on at 6.30 today. First coat of thinned paint on walls and ceiling and undercoat on skirting board. I'll order carpet and bed next week to come when I get back from Scotland next month. I have curtains, rods and new bedding already although DGD4, who normally sleeps in there, wants to choose a duvet cover and accessories. My youngest DGS who is 10 visited 'the big school' this week. Time has flown - hard to believe it is 20 years since DGS1 was born. He is starting this term at uni with 2 weeks in Athens and is surprised at how warm it is. DS1 is in New Zealand for work where I guess it's spring now.
Right time to get dressed and collect them for school. Dentist at 11.30 but 25 miles (I am hanging on to my NHS dentist near where I used to work although he must be near retirement).
905 Various frogs done and dusted
906 Committee papers sent out ready for next week.
907 First coat of paint in Bedroom 2
908 Heating repairs done
909 Swimming pool half emptied - I'll let that drain away then empty the rest. I can clean it ready to take down.
I had lovely selection of bulbs for my birthday and a garden gift card. I need to get some compost then they are going in the planters which are round my sitting area in the back garden. The only bit that's done. I got some Christmas 'Bags of Joy' tags from Dunelm. A pet one for DGS4 and local youth club items (Coffee, deodorants etc) for DGD4. I've picked up several items already when I'm out shopping.
Hope everyone has a good day.2025 Decluttering Campaign 941/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Good morning. Had DGD overnight Tuesday until yesterday afternoon as DD1 is now back on nights so she was napping with DGS. Once she went home I cleared the kitchen sides, threw some packaging that just seems to have collected in a corner.
Then when DH took DD2 to dance class I decided to tackle one of my drawers. I wanted to do my bra drawer as I couldn't open in. 21 bras tried on and 14 didn't fit and went in the charity bag. Still had time so tackled pjs as that was overflowing too. 7 odd or threadbare items gone in the bag. There are still more of both in other drawers to sort but at least they fit in now. I did send the bag with DH last night to put in the recycling bin but there was about 60 bags already in front of it so the bag is still in the car at the minute.
Just waiting for DS2 taxi and will make a fresh tea and tackle some of the dining room today.

Thursday: I woke up just before 09:00 needing a bathroom visit but remembered that I needed to do urine test for doctor - forgot yesterday apologies for tmi. Will deliver later.
It is another fine autumn day although no sun forecast until about noon. High of 18°C, low 9°C with a chilly breeze. I will do a bit of cheerleading before I get up properly & then get bus (I believe I have to pay before 09:30) to surgery to drop off sample.
suzeesu2000, thanks for This “I’m sending everyone a BIG group hug as I think we all need one. Poor Vulpix with her move, MrsSD with her bruise, Soontobeoap with her paint (think I would have cried too) and all the other gremlins scurrying about making a nuisance of themselves, little stinkers.” 🤗You have had a busy couple of days 👏 Well done on getting all the washing done & great work cleaning the grill & decluttering the top 👏 Good luck with both the compost removal & the ‘Project Loft’ 🍀
Soontobeoap re This “Little update : - have just contacted decorator friend ……(he is also a sign writer so has a steady hand) I will sand down tomorrow and try again. He has said that he will come around and paint me a straight line if I can't manage it bless him.” 😇
florianatwobob, This “While DSis was having her pre treatment scans one of the people prepping her managed to collapse one of her veins! DSis’s veins, like mine, also like to hide.” puts my little bruise into perspective 😥 I do hope your DSis was OK 🙏
Brambling, please take care with your hip 🙏 & please don’t overdo any activity 🙏 Nothing wrong with This “My hall chair and mahjong set have gone to be restored, ……. Both items are being repaired for sentimental reasons.” 🥹 Good luck sorting out the cutlery drawer 🍀 although please do be careful not to cut yourself if the drawer jams again 🙏 Perhaps your sister could help 😉
vulpix, I do hope This “Hi, no news other than it's a septic tank issue!” can be sorted quickly 🤞🤞 I see that you are keeping busy & using up your yarn stash. As to This “ I bought a clock at the chazzer today. The woman at the till said, I don't have clocks in my house, I don't believe in time. I am STILL pondering that one.” how cryptic 🤨 Happy Birthday to DD2 🎉 🎂🥳
It is 10:00 now, so have got dressed & will head off. I will reward myself with a mug of tea when I get back 😉 Hope everyone has as good a day as possible 😊

Apologies for being absent again.
My plans for decluttering haven't been going very well, although I have finally decluttered the last slow cooker, whiteboards plus salad spinner through church Sunday last week.
I've also managed to take 3 bags of assorted bits to a charity shop this week, cut the grass plus took a bag of soft plastics to a supermarket recycling point.
My lawnmower decided to go wrong, I thought it was going to shake itself apart it was vibrating so badly in the end.
I tightened up where the blade was once I'd finished, but was too wary to use it again.
I put it out the front with the intention of paying the council to take it, to find someone had taken it. Saved me a job plus some money.
I'm hoping someone I know is good to their word, as they (someone I know from church) has offered me a lawnmower they no longer need.
I've a book someone lent me going back to them tomorrow, plus 2 hoodies going out, and hopefully some jeans of they are any good for a family member.
If not I'll hang onto the jeans, as I'm still trying to lose weight and will save me replacing them and mean buying lessDecluttering campaign 2023
