2025 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD - The Joy of Decluttering

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m 
3. Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed

Monday is another crisp autumn day - blue skies, sunshine & a high of 16°C, low of 8°C with no rain forecast 🙂 I have my first cuppa, timer is on & I am starting the cheerleading with posts dated the 20th (Saturday)

charlies_tribe, excellent work in the dining room 👏 Hopefully you can get through the 2nd phase of decluttering quite quickly 🤞 Fingers crossed the bus journey with your DGD to & from the doctor wasn’t too stressful 🙂 & that the doctor’s appointment went well 🙏

Soontobeoap, yippee to dry plaster 🥳 although 5 weeks does sound like rather a long time 😬 Good luck with the painting 🍀 As to the extra delivery charge 😖 talk about taking liberties 😤 Is there any chance of negotiating a lower price especially as you have already paid a delivery fee & they are late with delivery 🤔 Keeping everything crossed that it all goes well & that the final renovations will be completed soon 🤞🙏  Please remember to take time out from all the hard work to enjoy the weather 🙏

Hmm, I definitely couldn't lie on a pillow wet hair.  Surely the pillow insides get wet ?  Must be very tricky to get it properly dry inside and not go mouldy? 

I'm procrastinating instead of getting on.  Only a short while till tea time so hardly worth getting started ???  Lol, the things we tell ourselves! 

Oh, tc77 did you see the video link I put on a day or so ago?  Vulpix hope everything still going smoothly.   Love the pic of the hallway brambling.  New fresh hugs in the basket in the tlc carriage, help yourselves

Afternoon all, 

I did quite a lot yesterday 

Wet and dry hoovered the bedroom 
3 loads of washing 
3 loads of drying 
Fixed an ornament 
Made work lunch
Walked the dogs 

Today I've 

Picked two pairs of jeans from charity shop for £1 
Picked up dog food 
Picked up a too good to go bag, all this for £3.49




Now to do my last loads of washing, make food for tonight and walk the dogs.

Also just sorted my balance transfer out on my CC so can close my other CC!

Question:  Do you use the handles on the dog harnesses to pick them up?  I see those on harnesses for large dogs where they would be too heavy to pick up but obviously if the dog was a Yorkie or other tiddler it would be possible.  Or is it just to hold them back if they are over excited?  (sorry - cat person since the late 80s)

Reminds me of cat sitting for a friend who lived by a lake and in the middle of the night the cat would leave rotting fish she'd found on the direct route between the bedroom I was staying in and the bathroom.  Bleugh!  I learned to turn on the lights....

It's crazy isn't it! I need to sit down and work out my debt in loans, I think its about 4k off the top of my head but focusing on CC debts first.

It's like they want people to struggle who are already in debt! 

It's like they figure they can make money from people paying over the odds on interest.  Leeches!!  (and yes I did use to work for banks so I know what I'm talking about!)

Sorry for the multiple posts but I've been away and had loads to catch up on.  Sped read through lots so likely missed lots too.  Decluttering will start again tomorrow when I try to figure out how to jam the holiday souvenirs in to what ever space we have left anywhere.

Good evening.  
Mrs SD, DGD loved the bus. We got to where the appointment was to find it actually wasn't. The man on reception said 'well it might say here but its at one of our sister sites' and im to know that how!?! Luckily it was only at the local hospital a 5-10 minute walk away. Lovely doctor, urgent scan ordered and back out in minutes. We were just walking back so the car and DGCs dad was putting tge shopping in the car, so he dropped us home. DGD did get quite worried he might take her home though 😂

Vulpix, I'll wave regularly over the next few weeks as doing contact there for the time being. I think it might suggest the cave next time.

Not a great deal done today. DH has finished the floor in DD2s room and I've swept and mopped it. Ive wiped down the bathroom quickly too. Nothing decluttered today though.

ETA  £150 decluttered for a new tyre. Lovely man that came out straight away. Next time we'll avoid the hill near chatsworth and stick to more main roads.
