We recently got shot of the family christening gown to mr d's brother as he has kids so they will have the next generation to get into it for the obligatory photo, no point us continuing to store it. We think its been in the family over 100 years.
My oldest personal things are a red leather motorbike jacket with fringes, a couple of square Indian scarves (again with fringing), black lace fingerless (think madonna like-a-virgin-style) gloves and a bracelet bought for my 16th birthday when mum and I did a daytrip to London, so all from early 80s s about 43 years but I think my earliest is my christening bracelet at 59 and a half-years if I'm allowed to count it. The jacket no longer meets to zip up but I still were it occasionally. The scarves, gloves and bracelets still fit properly 😆

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday is a very overcast day & feels cooler than of late - high 22°C, low 15°C, humidity 57% Brightened up late afternoon & even had some sunshine. DSis had a diabetes check up, bloods taken & now has a nasty bruise on her hand 😣 One LDFPA. DH filled the bird feeders & fed the worms. Ndn has a new car so won’t be able to use his drive anymore 😉 Dinner was sausages, mash, baked beans & plum tomatoes. DH went for a walk after dinner.

Steady decluttering CRANKY40 👏 Hopefully the kitten will get used to the vacuum 🤞 Not sure you would recognise Lewisham now 😉
Excellent work decluttering the ottoman Willowtree222 👏 Good luck tackling both the cupboard of doom & the spare room 🍀
TC77, your mum’s 1950’s golfing jacket sounds wonderful & how great that DD2 still wears it 🥳 Excellent work finding time to declutter a section of your kitchen despite work being so busy 👏 This “Had lots of watchers for things but no sales:( a sale motivates me to give more to cs so in a quandry whether to try and sell other things or give away..have a cs bag full already.” was very interesting 🤔 Just wondering if you have decided to take the bag to CS or not? Keeping everything crossed that the outside of the house painting will get done quickly so that the scaffolding can come down sooner rather than later 🤞 My DSis buys lots of clothing online & keeps trying to persuade me to follow suit but I am with you re This “I find online so difficult as often v different in real life with textures, colours and shape” - I like to touch clothing & see the actual colours etc 😉 Good luck with your weekend blitz 🍀
Lovely post vulpix 😊 Now that you have teased us with mention of the 1977 shawl, I am hoping that you will post a picture once it has been unpacked in your new home 🙏 More excellent decluttering 👏 Hope you had a lovely afternoon with your picnic & visiting Shetland ponies ☺️
I would have continued with the cheerleading & posted this but @ 04:05 I had an error message “503 Service Unavailable - No Server is available to handle this request”
05:13 now available so will post.
Sleep tight everyone 😴

Hi all, good day yesterday, got into town and managed to get what I wanted quite quickly so home again and all wrapped up using a box, wrapping paper and card all from stash and it will be posted off today. 2 pairs of shoes dropped off at the cs and a new cs bag started, 8 things in it so far 😁. Lr bin emptied again, kitchen recycling again, 3 LDFPA, 1 pair of Sunday knickers into the rag bag. OH had ordered a new frying pan using a gift card and that arrived so we will sort that today and if it's ok the old one will be binned. OH was out for tea so I had salad using up all the bits in the fridge and watched some things from the planner. Felt quite tired so headed to bed quite early for me and now awake early 😁. Chiropodist today and I have ordered a too good to go bag from morries. They have put the price up so I will assess if they are worth getting going forward 😁.
Re oldest clothes I have quite a lot of old clothes. I have my wedding dress from 1979 but it wouldn't fit me now 😂. I think the oldest thing I have that I still wear is an aran cardigan that my dmum made for me in about 1985. Still looks like new 😁. I also have a couple of dresses from about the same time made in Italy and bought when I was living in Kuwait. I don't wear dresses very often but they are there if I need them 😂. I do think some older clothes were made better than a lot of clothes in the shops today. Until recently I even had some socks that I used to wear to school but they were cotton rich and didn't actually wear out but they got hard with the wearing and washing so were binned 😁.
Right off to get another cuppa and see what's what 😁
Hugs to everyone who would like one

Shed declutter continued yesterday and OH has car packed to take things to recycling centre and CS this morning. Some of winter firewood now stacked properly in shed with more to do in the next few days. Still a bit more to go through in shed - the paint shelf and a shelf of my things (mainly outdoor toys for visiting kids) which may not get done just yet as some admin frogs are becoming urgent.
OH was slightly embarrassed at being outed for his shed organisation strategy and has admitted that it’s just laziness. I wonder if he will change his ways? Probably not, lol.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅4 -
Oooo, I remember those cotton socks which were crispy when they had been through the wash. I also remember having some white cotton knee socks in the 60's. They had big bubbles in the pattern. I loved them. They wouldn't stay up so I had garters made from elastic. Gosh, remember them? I am nostalgic recently arn't I, not like me at all.
A lovely day yesterday with family and Shetland pony visiting. One of the ponies is 30 years old,the other one 24. DGS, loved seeing them take their hats and coats off and putting their jammies on and giving them their dinner in their bedrooms. He was awed by the other horses in the yard, some were huge. He was also very impressed by the yard tractor. After they had gone, I packed a banana box with the plastic animals, cars and kids books.
Not many more things to pack now. To date I estimate about 30 packed boxes which I don't think is actually that many for a 2 person household. Still no moving date.
Mr V has gone to man shed and taken 8 new heavy duty masks for when they are sanding. Every little thing out is a win.
Mrs SD, the shawl is a cream crochet type thing with tassels. My Pre Raphaelite phase!
