2025 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD - The Joy of Decluttering

Good evening chums , excellent day today this morning went for coffee at a new knit and natter group in Ryde and really enjoyed it. then after lunch DGS Mikey and I did the tip run with a car full of stuff
DD had been ruthless in the linen cupboard and bagged lots of stuff up and it went to the tip to the recycling fabric bin
Plus lots of stuff of Mikey's that he had brought home from Uni and said he no longer needed
Lovely chap at the tip helped me cart the bags of textiles to the big blue bin where they go Only being a 5'3''person with one arm that goes above my should its often difficult to juggle things but this lovely chap said' I'll give you a hand bless him
Mikey was decluttering the heavy bits and pieces. its so satisfying when you come away and know you will never see the junk again
Got back home and sat in the garden in the sun with DD and a cuppa and we just watched the birds for awhile
She's feeling slightly better today, but we now have to wait 10 days for the results and I want to keep her occupied.
Tomorrow afternoon I'm off to the hairdresser for a decent cut and blow dry My hair grows so quickly and because of my right arm being a bit restricted I tend to keep it fairly short.
Tomorrow night my son-in-law has booked us a nice meal out in Shanklin as Mikey was at Uni in Essex when it was his 21st birthday. So although he had presents we decided to treat him to a nice meal out just the four of us.
DGS Ben is arriving at the weekend with his new young lady Imogen, and fingers crossed for them both I think he's quite keen to settle down, he has met both of her parents and grandparents and they seem to be quite serious about each other
He said she is nervous meeting us, and I said tell her not to be daft we won't eat herI was talking to him last night on Facetime and said
'Is she kind ?', and her said 'very',
then I said 'does she make you laugh'? and her said 'often'.
She is also a teacher, so they have quite a bit in common. He said 'Nan, I think she's the one'
bless him he's had a couple of break ups with several girls, and he was thinking that it was him, one cheated on him, and the other one basically decided he wasn't rich enoughboth were from his Uni in Norwich and the second break up real knocked his confidence.
But he is a nice kind hearted young man who doesn't play the field and is a strong believer in family. Poor chap I remember when he split up from the last one who decided he would not be rich enough for her (mind you her family were definitely minted )
He was quite heart broken and said 'Whats the matter nan is it me, I can't seem to find a girl that likes me just as I am '
Lasses don't seem to be that keen on decent young men at all they seem to like the rotters. But I said'
Ben don't worry son there is a good one out there you just haven't met her yet'
These two were friends first for about 6 months before realising it was something a bit more so I have my fingers crossed for this one .
We will do our best to make her feel welcome and at home and I've warned DGS Mikey not to wind his older brother up. He is a bit of a tease at times, but he has promised to behave as its her first visit .:)
Oh well, time to do the spuds for dinner tonight I think its lamb chops and veg which is a favourite, I'm sure we will soon declutter them
Onwards and upwards

Today I was volunteering for set-up of a big event in Derby, which involved a lot of walking up and down the site - 16K steps decluttered before Lunch. By 2pm I'd done all that was needed and came home, with sore feet and hips.I gently got on with bits and bobs - the shed is now cleared of stuff that is moving so it can be used to stack some stuff that is not. Little else achieved, but it brought me up to 26K steps. My typicals for weekdays are 6-7k so no wonder my feet feel ill used!WFH tomorrow so I can rest my legs before more days at the event Friday-Sunday.Decluttering awards 2025: 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️, DH: 🏅🏅⭐️, DD1: 🏅 and one for Mum: 🏅14

In the middle of major frog and pdf'ing an email and noticed it also said at top 1,856 unread emails!! Not very professional so copying and pasting excluding that bit. Off to finish this stage of the frog - abit of a shock though12

Hi all, quick post as I have to be up and at em early to get to the dentist tomorrow morning, rush hour traffic and all that 😁 I usually try to avoid it but it can't be helped. 2 LDFPA, the porch was cleaned, plants moved out for the summer, dead leaves and rubble binned, doormat beaten to within an inch of its life, spiders chased and webs removed. It needs painting but it will have to wait 😁. Moved into the hallway, 3 bags of "things" emptied and put away where they live, more spiders chased and webs removed. I think I probably have a spider sanctuary going on here. I wouldn't mind the webs so much if they caught anything except dust 😂. Haven't finished the hoovering yet as I had to empty the hoover and then got distracted by something OH was wittering about. Lots of bits of carp binned and the kitchen bin emptied. Session of ironing fitted in and a couple of important text messages before we headed out for tea. Lovely meal in my favourite restaurant where we were offered free drinks at the end of the meal. Unfortunately I was driving so had to refuse but better safe than sorry 😁.
Right off to bed, hugs to anybody who would like one
1042 & 1043 LDFPA
1044 porch cleared and cleaned
1045 - 1047 bags emptied
1048 kitchen bin
1049 ironing
Take care everyone

Evening all@ Liverpool_Anne - "the cake decoration is still lounging in it's tin but it will have to go to the bin as I couldn't take the sugar hit by eating it." Stick it on a digestive biscuit, scone, or cupcake and give it to a neighbour@ vulpix - Whilst some people find knitting relaxing, I LOVE oven cleaning as like cooking, I find it relaxingAs for the house being clean , it may sound it but you should see by the end of the day
Between animal hospital, packing up sold decluttered items, and general living including decluttering, I have to do a kitchen, bin & bathroom clean before I go to bed just so that I can wake up sane before life errupts
This evening I've managed to finally get a shower, much to the pleasure of babyface who did fruitlops around the houseI've stripped the bed & remade complete with yet more clean doggie blankets which Missy inspected & rolled all over once I'd done it
All that has now been washed and ready to put out in the morning as I've already done a wash load this evening and that's taken up all the lines outside overnight. It's a very organised house but you'd never believe it
Oo it's getting late & I need some sleep - Take care all & ta-ta for now xxxxx

Sorry I've missed some of what people are going through both good and bad, so sending healing vibes and hugs and also we'll done for decluttering mess, stress, weight as appropriate and also for getting through daily life which can be tough enough. X

Yes TC , you are right. Sometimes getting through the day is enough.
Fab result MR SD.
Weight is such a topic isn't it. We are just bombarded with opinions which are really not helpful at all. comfort is the aim of the game.
Floss, my motto is easy come, easy go.xx
Dizzycap, I would like my house to be clinically clean ideally. I enjoy the results of cleaning but not the process! Still ignoring the oven.
Have a lovely weekend London 1.
Bon voyage Willow tree.
Aims for the day, pack a couple of boxes and more furniture painting. Better get on with it then.
