Good morning chums , yesterday was a good decluttering day .
My DD whom I live with had to phone the hospital about her referral for a gynae problem. She had a scan last week and they aren't happy with it and the service here is so good they said if she's not had an appointment by 28th to ring up. So she did after there was nothing in the post, and got a cancelled appointment for lunchtime today., the referral was market urgent so maybe thats why she got it so quickly
So to keep her mind focused and occupied (mine as well )we decluttered the big linen cupboard on the landing and she ruthlessly went through it.I've just made an appointment for tomorrow for a tip run and I think I have a car full of stuff. We sorted out some bags for the CS but the rest was just junk.So this afternoon I will get mr Muscles AKA my grandson Mikey to stack it all in my car and he can come with me tomorrow to de-stack it at the tip
I found a good home for our spare food mixer (DGS Jack who took it back with him when he went on Sunday) and also a good home for the spare toaster ,my eldest DDs sis -in-law will have it for her holiday caravan as they don't have one down in Deal where their van is sited.
I have a stash of picture frames to go to the CS and a pile of read books as well
We are concentrating to positive things to keep our minds off her Gynae appointment. Fingers crossed for 1.30 this afternoon that its only cysts
Onwards and upwards chums

Morning,
@vulpix impressed you only have one box of a4 folders.
Realisation with frog that reentered after I thought sorted 18 months that it could go on for another 18 months. So with many variables; dds situations will change over next couple of years, large frogs ongoing, my dad's house still to be sold and final sorting, work will change over this time ( reduce/ cease) so just concentrating on using up stuff and gentle decluttering.
As well as endowing my stuff with extra value I have keeping things 'for best ' heavily ingrained!
Caught myself wanting to put least nice sticky note on one important pile of papers and changed to put brightest and easiest to see ( best) as important and easier for frog munching.
Also wearing new ( really new ) trousers bought before covid as part of this use it or lose it journey. With covid they didn't fit and as one of 2 pairs started wearing the other ones 2 months ago and now these.
I think paper and electronic decluttering and organising will be focus for rest of 2025. Had to ring bank about payments from 2012 and they don't keep records and having thought frog sorted don't have either and paper folders with key documents not in order!
Long ramble but I think helpful for my overstretched mind
Another pen used up!11 -
@London_1 - great decluttering of the airing cupboard and other items. I hope that all goes well for your DD’s appointment.@TC77 - one person can only do so much so it is wise to restrict what you can expect of yourself. I do understand the dragging on of things though having spent years and years of probates and properties etc. the rest of life doesn’t go away in the meantime either.Bags to CS and to clothing bank. The leather boots are going to go to the clothing bank I have decided. A pair of degraded wellies into the bin. I already have another CS bag on the go. Trying to eat or freeze my way through all the vegetables coming at us. It is a nice problem to have though on the scale of things.Mrs SD I have also been thinking of nannywindow10

Mrs_Salad_Dodger thanks for medal xxLondon_1 best wishes to your daughter. Had to have hysterectomy etc in 2021 as I had cancer. Was treated at St. Marys and they were superb and very speedy. Please tell your daughter she is in very good hands. Mr Green, although a trifle brusque (!) is very good. xx

Hells teeth, just lost a post.
Fingers crossed for your daughter London 1.xx
TC, that is a big shift for you to be using "best" things. There's using things up and saving things till they disintegrate, a fine line to negotiate . Also, you are tenacious and we know you will boss those frogs in the end. I don't think you give yourself enough credit for all the plate spinning you do.
I like to think the people we miss are on holiday or in the garden or doing other fabulous things. It's great if this thread helped for a time.
I on the other hand need the thread to keep me accountable. Left to my own devices I would sit all day and craft. I am embarrassed that my neighbour walks past my window several times a day, going for a run, going to the gym and I am ALWAYS just sat there knitting!
My tried and tested bread belly diet is to only have one slice of toast for breakfast ( can't give it up completely) No spread, very tiny amount of olive oil for cooking and no added sugar to cooking. If I am hungry between meals I eat fruit or have home made soup. I also cut down on hot drinks as I have oat milk but it is calorific. If all is going well I will have a take away occasionally. I know I can't target fat loss but I hope cutting down and moving about more will do something. I get up at every add break and have a bit of a walk round the house. If I am waiting for the kettle to boil or running water in the sink ,I walk about or do press ups on the kitchen counter. I can't walk distances because of my knee and back, though I do push myself when we go out.I also do 15 sit ups a day. Just easy things to incorporate that don't feel too harsh.
I aim to look like the models on the Cunard TV ads by the time we go in November.I would have to grow about a foot for a kick off. In actual fact if I was a foot taller I would be the perfect weight right now!
Craft club today where I will offload 2 magazines and 2 bags of blister packs.

@vulpix I'm another that needs to grow a foot to fit my size! Apparently my "ideal" BMI is almost 3 stone lighter than I am 😳2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I ordered a new set of fitted sheets so I went through the airing cupboard and took all the old ones out and they will go into the council bag for textile recycling. My donation bag for the charity shop is ready to be dropped off tomorrow. Two dresses, a cushion, a top, a shirt and 3 nail varnishes.
I just had my 16th class of the year today so I'm hopefully going to hit my target of 25 classes in 2025.12 -
Afternoon all@ Liverpool_Anne - nice to see another fab post from you & super going with all your fabulous decluttering! I hope you decluttered the cake decoration you made & that it tasted fab!@ YBR - I find the remembering what I've actually done also alludes me most of the time
I thought I was developing a memory issue and then realised that I've been so busy that I'm too tired to care to remember what I've been doing, but I've been doing it and that's what matters!
What's been happening?I had an energy burst this morning and ripped the kitrchen apart cleaning everying inside & out. I went through it like a whirlwind and cleaned the floor and washed all the mats before you knew it! I also finished the last corner of the room I've been painting leaving only the ceiling to paint which I'll probably do this eveningI can then put the step ladder back in the shed and it can stay there for a while!
I've listed more decluttering sale items and have posted a few off that have already sold. Done the usual HH basic cleaning and bin decluttering. I'm still waiting for my green wheelie to be emptied from Friday which is still out on the drive - I've now put in a request by phone 3 times & by council website twice with assurance that it will be decluttered within 2 working days and here we are at 3 working days!
3 loads of washing done and pegged out along with one of babyfaces beds being washed & now drying away. Babyface over did it a little lot yesterday and has really burnt herself out. She's had a very slow short walk for me to check her back legs before we returned and she wanted another bath & swim - The school holiday are definately in full swing with Missy!
She's still on antibiotics, inflamation & pain medication and I think another 2 days should do it. She's in a total grump, as expected, because I've reduced her food intake as she's more than made up for not eating for 5 days!
She's also cautiously used the back garden ramps this morning and was thrilled to get down onto the mooring and have a wonder around the back garden for a while. She's presently in sleepy land while I get all the washing in and put away ready to fill the washing machine this evening - this time it's my washing that I'm doing
Having done that lot, I'm now dead on my legs & it's time to get my PJ's on and have a mug of coffee before all hell lets loose again!
I hope everyone is having a fabulous decluttering day - Take care all & ta-ta for now xxxxxx

Another bag of Wood chip as we had a big day on it on Sunday and DH finished the ceiling today. Only behind the Tele to do now! Waiting for plasterer to come back off holiday and tell us when he can fit us in. He is so good that we are happy to wait. Having a nightmare choosing sofas as I can't work out which ones will come through our front door and fit down our narrow hallway. NO ROOM TO PIVOT!!! Also need to have them bought over to island after they have been delivered to Southampton so logistics are difficult. Still nice problems to have.🙂.
