Forgot to post this last night - Wednesday continued: 17:30 the sun finally managed to put in an appearance 😊 just as I started dinner 😅 Slow roast beef joint with roasted potatoes, parsnips & carrots, frozen cauliflower & broccoli, Yorkshire pudding & hm gravy. DH went out for his walk at 18:35 & got back 19:45 - with half an hour to spare as he was on gravy making duties 😅 Dinner was delicious 😋 Wudupa.

We dropped off the donation bag yesterday at the chazzer before going into London to see Oasis. They were really good and there was such a great atmosphere. I just saw online that some of the Lionesses were there.

Hi Chums just about to go to the hairdressers and declutter some hair to Nicola my hairdresser, and a chunk of cash ,but I don't mind as the hairdresser is lovely and their coffee even nicer.
Then out tonight for a nice meal with DD ,son-in-law and DGS Mikey for a belated 21st meal as he was still up at his Uni when it was his birthday
Not going to have even a couple of ginger nuts with my cuppa to save myself for tonight
We were due a storm and heavy rain but so far its dry, although it did rain a bit during the night Eldest DD in kent said it was tipping down there this morning so maybe its missed Ryde

Well im not doing very well at posting am I. I haven't really done a great deal. I made DC5 bring down some of their school things the other day and 60cm of books and paper work went into the bin, I think i counted at least 30 school books in there and there is still more. All revision stuff listed but no interest yet.
Ive had a very silly thought and have plans to separate the living room so really need to get back on the decluttering.
Well we have someone calling later so need to at least hide some of the rubbish in the living room.

Thanks TC77 for your friendly help about shoes. I have checked the vintage ones and a new pair in boxes and they are fine. So I’m going to fill socks with cat litter, use some gel sachets on the outside and put them in a high up place and keep an eye on them. Today , as I was hunting books to declutter DH said you know, we’re not going to read some of these so why don’t we give them away to the bookseller who buys fiction from me.Run of the mill books will still go to the CS. Today into the CS bag for Saturday went
6 books
1 children’s game unopened,( too young for DGC)
2 blouses
2 packets of bin bags-I keep buying the wrong sort.
1 wooden bowl
Total =343+12=355/365
Thanks Vulpix, for you fingers crossed for tomorrow for Mr RiF. .
Queen Jess -I have taken on your using up strategy and I have 3 lipsticks almost done , so it’s lipstick on every day and it is a great pickup thank you Mrs SD for the medal for keeping out of CS and I’m glad my post reminded you of happy days at your parents’ house in France. The hot weather is helping to keep me out of them as none of them have air-conditioning and some of them are fiery hot in summer.
I echo TC77 about how just getting through the day is a triumph and we need to be mindful of that.Hugs for all and look after yourselves.6 -
I did do painting. The bedside tables are done and can have their drawer pulls put back on next time. The bed head might need a 3rd coat and the chest of drawers have had their first coat. Mr V is now sanding a set of pine drawers which I will wax. Next in the queue is the ebonised dressing table top.
I have packed a couple of boxes, one my gift and wrapping drawer. 6 gift bags given to my neighbour.
I have had an email from the solicitor to say move will be about 6 weeks. I am having massive anxiety about the new house today. I do hope it turns out to be a good choice.
It was our wedding anniversary today (Thursday) we both forgot.
Tomorrow I am out for lunch with my friend who lost her husband recently. She wants to go to a garden centre with a mill fabric shop across the road. Get thee behind me Satan. Friday is also the start of my cutting back, to be comfy in my red evening dress.

Thursday raining 06:00 & looked set for to rain for a while as I headed off to bed 😉 Woke up at 10:30 desperate for the bathroom but had to throw on a dressing gown & go downstairs as DH was having a bath. There must have been more rain as the ground is still wet. Forecast for the day is a high of 23°C, low 17°C & humidity 81% with more rain forecast for 13:00 Good news though - the recycling wheelie bin had been emptied on time 🥳 DH headed off 12:10 - he is having a 24hr BP monitor fitted then having something to eat followed by meeting up with old school friends for a drink. He is taking the opportunity to tick off a few more bus routes 😉 Slightly better news about my nephew’s dad (P) as although he had been scheduled for an operation after his stroke due to brain swelling, the doctors put him into an induced coma for transport to the main hospital in Bordeaux & this led to a reduction in the swelling. On arrival he was woken up to check on his condition & then put back into a coma state to continue the healing. Only my nephew & his 2 half sisters have been visiting him in hospital. His wife, my ex sister-in-law, has not bothered to visit him as ‘she doesn’t want to ‘remember’ him looking ill’ - almost as if she has written him off 🤔 Even though P’s sister has never had a passport, she applied for & has received one & will be flying over to see him in the next couple of days 🥹 DSis & I had beef in gravy, mash & peas for dinner 😋 DH got home 22:00 having had a good time as a dozen of his old school mates turned up. Wudupa

London_1, what a great start to the day - knit & natter then time spent with DGS Mikey - even if it was only a Tip run 😊 Fingers crossed that you can keep DD occupied so that the wait for results doesn’t seem so long 🤞A meal out, what a lovely belated birthday treat for Mikey 😊 I will echo daisy_1571 “Ben & Imogen sound like a lovely couple” ☺️ Hopefully she will love not only your family but also the IoW 😊
YBR, very impressive - 26,000 steps in a day 🤩 I hope that your feet will have recovered for Friday & Saturday 🤞
TC77, great work making progress on a huge frog 👏 Hopefully you can start to make inroads on the outstanding unread emails a few at a time 🙏
What a very busy Wednesday Liverpool_Anne 👏 Excellent work ousting both the spiders & their webs 🥳 Sounds like you had a lovely evening 😊
Dizzycap, I will pass the “big gold star’ onto DH who was very pleased 😌 although he did say that he might have to return it next week 🙊 I will have to hire you to clean my ovens 😂 Yet another busy day 👏 Babyface definitely rules the roost with her inspections of bed linen 😂
Absolutely counts Willowtree222 😉 Hope you have a wonderful time in Spain ☺️
TC77, hopefully you managed to get a couple of cat naps in 🤞
Lovely supportive post vulpix 🥹
Apart from watching a 3 hour film which took me 5 hours to watch (William Tell) I have had a very lazy day 😔 I will try harder tomorrow. Sleep tight 😴

Hi all, dentist was ok yesterday, crown replaced. Called at OH's house to pick up the post and check it was still standing 😂. Met the neighbour A who told me the sad news his wife P had died. She had been ill for quite a few years and in pain with arthritis. We had missed the funeral as they are Muslim so it had happened the day after her death. I then had a chat with one of their sons who arrived, there are 4 boys and 1 girl. The son told me they are all keeping an eye on their dad and he is never alone for more than 2 hours but he is missing her terribly. Such a nice family. Back home and 1 LDFPA and the kitchen recycling emptied. The tidy up for niece's visit continued but I am behind schedule and have loads to still do so that is on the cards today. A pair of worn once boots passed to ln for her to try, or maybe her daughter, if they are no good they will be going to the cs 😁. Had a major win when OH was having a clothes sort out, a pile to go to the cs which I will bag up today, but under the to be sorted clothes I found my electric saw, safely packed in its box but hidden under the heap 😁.
Good luck to everyone trying to lose weight, always a hard thing to do I find though I have lost some weight since I retired which has mainly been down to eating at proper times rather than stress eating snacks through the day 😂 but I am still needing to lose a couple of stone to get into the right place on the bmi charts 😂 but I don't really focus on it, too many other things to think about 😁.
@Vulpix well done on the furniture front. I am sure your new house will be lovely 😁.
Right time for another cuppa and some breakfast 😁 and then on with the tidying up 😁
Hugs to everyone who would like one
