@Soontobeoap thank you, I'll look forward to seeing
Just decluttered large sum at vet for big and little cat vaccination and flea treatment etc. Seems very much higher than before !11 -
Thought about doing a bit of ironing but soon came to my senses. Put a linen shirt from the ironing pile into the chazzer bag. Also included a new 3 pack of socks that Mr V will never use.
I forgot to say I have a bathroom suite in DSD's garage. It was only £90 and even if we don't use the bath, the sink and loo are nice.
Thank you for kind words about the shoe bench. The cushions haven't photographed well, but they use up some fabric left over from a wicker chair I upcycled , kept a bit and sold about 5 years ago! The bench was orange pine and had a table for your telephone which put up a surprisingly good fight to remove it. I like the finished item but it will probably not be a permanent resident.
Very elegant cake decorations Liverpool Anne. I can feel the heat radiating off you after your fun packed day!
soontobeoap, I will be interested to see your photo of Christmas decorations. Our craft club has a Christmas fair in November too. I find it more trouble than it's worth. People just don't want to pay the well deserved prices for hand made items. I usually make very quick and cheap things to donate. Some of the ladies spend hours on intricate little things that people want for 50p.
I am going outside to see how I fare with shed packing. Wish me luck.

Big bag of clothes dropped off and OH will take the books later.
Need to sort out the bathroom cupboard this weekend as it’s a bit messy.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅12 -

- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Friday: it is hot, hot, hot 🥵 Already 27°C at 11:30 & set to rise to 31°C (low was 17°C at 04:00) I have written a flexible menu plan for the next few days + a shopping list for DH & DSis. Forgot to mention that DSis has been watering the garden so I am awarding her a medal 🏅 Straight into cheerleading:
Liverpool_Anne, a very busy couple of days 👏 Pleased to hear that the dentist visit went well & that you are now pain free 😊 Grr to the energy company 😡 The technician sounds great - shame about the rest of the staff 😞 Very impressed with This “When I had regained some control over my mouth I did contact them, well a lady in India……….” as I would probably have had to wait a week before I could make the call 😉 I do hope you are talking to OH now despite his ‘faux pas’ with the whites 😂 At last, something worth learning to make in cake decorating class 😉 I agree with TC77 & daisy what an ‘amazing cake decoration’ 🤩
TC77, DH’s 8 buses was his choice as he is trying to tick off All London bus numbers 🙄 There are over 200 I believe 😧 Although he has decided that he will no longer be doing it on hot days 🤣 Fingers crossed that your hay fever abates & you can enjoy the next couple of days with DD2 🤞🙏
daisy_1571, your post did make me grin 😁
Soontobeoap, good luck making your Christmas tree elf decorations 🍀
Great work in the garden CRANKY40 👏 I do hope you are wearing a hat & keeping hydrated 🙏 This “I am trying to remove little "hot spots" here and there as I find them apart from the downstairs bookcase that I just keep shutting the doors and drawers of 🙄” sounds very familiar 😂
GrannyKate, sounds like you had a lovely time in Portugal 😊 Great news that the tiling has been done 👏 & that all there is left to do is a bit of painting & to buy some new blinds 😊 Hopefully you can find a shady spot & can keep cool whilst catching up on the 138 posts 🤞
Willowtree222 🥳 Fingers crossed that your listings will fly out the door 🤞
TC77, ouch that vet’s bill sounds very expensive 😣
Lovely cheerleading vulpix ☺️ As to the shoe bench, I think once you decide to release it to a new owner there will be several of our Declutterati family fighting or maybe begging for the chance to purchase it 🤣 Good luck with the shed packing 🍀
Excellent decluttering oceanspirit & well done OH 👏 Good luck with the bathroom cupboard 🍀
I hope everyone is staying safe in the heat & keeping well hydrated.

It's a good job I don't live nearby, otherwise I would take all the furniture vulpix hasThis morning I sorted out the big drawer of paperwork, including filing all paperwork I could find lying around the house and dealing with any of it that needed something doing with it. Cue a lot of shredding and finally using all those paper mailing bags I had been saving up (we have to contain shredding for it to be recycled by the council, so I save any paper mail bags I receive for that purpose).I then did a sort out of the en suite including taking everything out, cleaning the under sink drawer, popping the bath mat in the wash and basically doing all those things that are done irregularly. I looked through my stuff for any decluttering, but just threw DH's stuff back in there (although I did have a quick nosey given he currently is occupying half of the drawer, the whole of the drawer in the bathroom and a whole shelf of stuff in the cupboard... I just have half a drawer and a tiny bit in the cupboard that will ultimately disappear).I am now considering my next move, but will probably stay with the upstairs decluttering/sorting for today. Hoping to rope DS and DD in later for any of their stuff! Might tackle the bedroom as it could do with a dust and tidy anyway.Digital:

Oooo no to dill pickles in a pie. I imagined a sheperdess pie to be veggie with lentils which tbh sounds good to me.
Just the one shed done cos it's too hot outside. If it can go in a box it is now in a box. I find myself with 3 banana boxes going spare. So I have packed up most of the kitchen drawers that had boxes of "best" crockery and cake stand etc. I have packed the "good" tea towels down the sides and just left us with 4 scruffy tea towels to be going on with.
I will offer my neighbour one of those fly curtains with magnetic fasteners. We don't use it as according to the cats it is made of kryptonite. Her dog isn't so fussy. Said neighbour has asked me to make some knitted dungarees for a due grandchild from a crochet pattern given to her by the other neighbour with the deceased Mother. Are you keeping up? I'll have a go but I doubt the child will ever wear them! The pattern is so 70's, the dungarees are bell bottomed
You are all so kind about my furniture hobby. I just like making the most of stuff that most people don't want. People give away or ask next to nothing for good quality stuff. Furniture restoration and upcycling is so easy and cheap!

Knitted dungarees! I made lots of crocheted things for my nieces and nephews. I'm sure the only time that got worn was for the obligatory "say thank you to your aunt" photo.
As for upcycling - I grew up with it!! Mom was an antique dealer and would be offered the "garbage" cousins were storing in their barns. She'd happily take it away, sand, refinish and put a nice price tag on it. The farm house still has a lot of big chunky pine cupboards she resurrected. I was conscripted labour for a lot of it and have sanded more wood then is healthy for someone who was 9 or 10!!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
