2025 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD - The Joy of Decluttering

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m 
3. Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
4. Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
5. Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed

Saturday is another hot, hot, hot day with not a breath of a breeze 🥵 Not sure if I mentioned that during the previous heatwave the air conditioning in the car wasn’t working & the visiting repair guy was unavailable at our local garage. However DH phoned yesterday & managed to get booked in for 08:00 today. He managed to drop it off early & walked back from the garage & was actually home by 08:10. He got a call about 12:15 & as it was too hot to walk 28°C he caught the bus (although only 3 stops) Back by 12:40 although he was sorely tempted to just drive around with the air conditioning full on as a welcome relief from the stifling heat 😅 Today’s high 29°C & low 18°C humidity only 43% 😉

DH made me a cappuccino using our new coffee maker & very nice it was too 😋 I am being a wilting rose & all I have done is finished off a Sudoku puzzle book (as we now have a new one in the bathroom) DH has phoned his sister. I spent the rest of the afternoon watching The Walking Dead & doing the puzzles in my weekly magazine. DH repaired his office chair with some judicious welding - one of the legs had collapsed. Dinner was salad again. Wudupa.

1202 - 1206 Kitchen recycling, completed Sudoku book, glass bottle, cardboard packaging, drinks cans - recycled 

1207 - 1210 Kitchen & lr detritus, polystyrene & plastic packaging - binned

Excellent work taking down the greenhouse YBR 👏 Love This “………Parenting is all bribery and corruption!” 🤣 especially if it gets the work done………😉

Another box of books and DVDs we’d watched sent off to WoB. As soon as it was lockered up DSis and I finished the books we were reading. I’m sure you can guess that we now have another box starting! Actually we don’t have a box at the moment so they’re being dropped in a basket on the landing. On the plus side the TBR pile is decreasing and I’m trying not to add to it.

I struggled to get to sleep last night, I was still awake when Mr V came home and long after he was asleep. I can't wait for this weather to break.

 Went through the utensil drawer. 4 serving spoons in the charity bag. Iv'e still got enough for an Ambassadorial reception. Also in the charity bag a shirt Mr V put on to go to work in that I made him get changed out of. It didn't sit right on the fuller figured gentleman about town.

 Mrs SD, the Ukranian lady is still local, she works and is settled, her adult daughter who lost her husband is still quite poorly with depression. They would eventually like to go home.
 Mr V's retirement was very short lived. He is outside now moving equipment about and getting ready for work later.

 I have packed another banana box, decorative stuff I had in the kitchen and the contents of 2 drawers in the TV table. Candles, seasonal decorative bits. I am finding it a struggle to find things to oust. I have run out of boxes for now.

 DSS has just phoned and is on his way for an impromptu visit. He's a doer so might suggest doing some jobs for me. I don't like to ask but if he offers, I need to be prepared. It would be amazing to put the packed contents of my shed into the storage shed and dismantle my shed ready to transport.

 I am still doing my getting up every time ads come on the TV to do a bit of packing or washing up etc. Also still doing my sit ups every day. Not lost an ounce but my trousers are looser on the waist. My knee is still not better. It was my bad knee anyway but it's even badder now!

 Gotta crack on Vx

@vulpix very reminiscent on my neighbour’s cat, he commandeered one of our flowerpots to nap in. The tulips never recovered so we left him to it.

I've been decluttering via Vinted - as I had too many clothes I didn't wear. Also books I've read (or fallen out with, looking at you "The Salt Path") or cookbooks I don't use have been chazzered.

I'm another non-sleeper over the last few nights. It was 29° on my landing at 2am this morning 🥵 I think it is due to break for me later today, it's definitely not as warm & more cloudy thank goodness.

I spent some of yesterday evening watching Live Aid, and now have the audio playing on Greatest Hits Radio.

Hello, very little decluttering, apart from food, lollies and cold drinks. Very warm here, hit the 30"s today & yesterday. Hiding downstairs in the house as its a lot cooler. Went to the beach earlier today, despite Factor 50, sunhat and in shade when too hot I have managed to burn tops of my feet and ankles. Hoping the weather will break overnight 🤞.

Hope you all manage to stay cool.

Hi chums basically decluttering lots of cold water and the odd ice cream .Far to hot to do much, I'm another one who struggled to sleep last night

We are supposedly due rain on Tuesday. I think I may stand out in the garden when it does break.
I'm on three tepid showers a day now I swear I'm developing fins.

Just going to watch a mens finals ,I feel for the folk sitting there, at least I am in my sitting room by the window with yet another pint of water.

DD and my son-in-law have gone down to the sea for a swim I was quite happy to stay indoors with the two dogs who look as hot as I feel

 Stanley the greyhound has got a 'cool' coat and the little Westie Ted has a 'cool' neckerchief 
But they both look rather fed up with the heat as even the beach is too hot for them until this evening when my son-in-law may take them down there for a run. They both have 'cool mats to lay on but both being daft lie on the sofa (Stanley) or under the upstairs spare room bed (Ted)

I've been watching Belgravia on ITV X and quite enjoying it as I can watch back to back episodes

Keep as cool as you can chums only a couple more days hopefully then a bit of rain Our water butts are both completely empty all the flowers look so dry and the tomatoes are being concentrated on at the moment One that I bought in B&Q has 19 tomatoes on it Not bad for a little plant that cost less than £2.00
