Grrr left work early for the plumber - saga from good friday when they replaced a tap and caused problem with my washing machine only to be called to be told they're not coming. Had also not accepted plans as told between 5 and 10pm!
@Brie I love the male pattern blindness!
As ever everyone is so inspiring with their resilience, kindness and generosity to others that am hoping that I will go and use the time to declutter and not slump in front of the TV15 -
Brie said:sqwiffy said:Queen Jess, I laughed about your DH being unable to see it in front of his face. Yesterday my DH said he'd had to order a new knife as his favourite one had disappeared. I then opened the drawer and said "what, this one?". Sorry if it offends any guys on here but I call it man-looking!
I love male pattern blindness. Round here the DDs do it too - my Mummy superpower is (apparently) finding things without even looking! Maybe I put it away there, or maybe i just "look with my eyes".Decluttering awards 2025: 🏅🏅⭐️ ⭐️, DH: ⭐️ and one for Mum: 🏅14 -
@sqwiffy - I've still got a lot of stuff (for example over 30 unused or very lightly used notebooks) but everything has a home now, so I've decided that's good enough as long as I don't bring more stuff in (I was eying up yet another notebook at the British Library on Sunday and had to do the Alvin Hall trick of telling myself I'd come back later if I really wanted it - and of course now I'm over it. I mean, it was nice but I don't need to own it).

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday is a brighter day - sunshine & blue skies with a high of 17°C & a low of 9°C. I have written a menu plan for the next 4 days + shopping list for DH & DSis who headed off at 13:50. Straight back to cheerleading:
Liverpool_Anne, a very busy Tuesday with some excellent decluttering 👏 Hope the cake decorating & the visit to the dentist went well 🤞
Dizzycap, you & Liverpool_Anne must have the patience of saints spending time scanning in blister packs 😉 So chuffed that you have finally seen the fox cubs 😆 & that they have had great fun testing out babyface’s ramps 🤣 Not sure what has happened to our fox population as I haven’t seen a single one this year ☹️ Over the past few years we have been lucky enough to have foxes in the back garden, to see fox cubs chasing each other round the cars parked on their drives with mummy telling them off & one year there were 7 cubs roaming around the area 😊 Excellent decluttering of garden work 👏 Good luck with your new listings 🍀
WickedLady4, excellent decluttering by your DH 👏 so I am awarding him a medal 🏅 plus I am awarding you a medal 🏅 for encouraging him to tackle the LPs 😊
TC77, I tend to sleep reasonably well whatever time I go to bed 😉 Please try not to be overwhelmed, remember you have been making steady progress with your decluttering ☺️ Good luck with the digital decluttering 🍀 I think that counting ‘1’ for every 10 minutes is a great idea 👏 Shame that the tap still hasn’t been sorted out properly ☹️ I will keep my fingers crossed that the plumber will sort it out …….finally 🤞Thank you for creating the hug cupboard & making sure it automatically refills ☺️
daisy_1571, lovely post & I totally agree with your sentiments ☺️
Dizzycap, a very busy Wednesday morning 👏 I imagine babyface is enjoying her extra outings now that you are taking your parcels to the delivery office (rather than having them picked up) 😉 Happy to hear that babyface had such a good day - extra walk, a chat with the auto washers, chasing off bully Burty & silencing Charlie with just one sharp bark 🤩
I put away most of the shopping. DH has just headed off on his walk.
Brie, This “Long ago and far away..... McColl magazine. Fashion and home delights for women. One of the regular features was Betsy McColl - she was a card character and each month there would be a couple of outfits that could be cut out for her to wear. Basically an attempt to get your average 10 year old hooked on fashion I guess. Not sure why it back fired with me!!!” made me laugh 😆 Crikey, your trip to Canada is coming around very quickly 😉 I will keep my fingers crossed that you can resist the temptation to buy any sale items APART from something you can wear immediately 🤞 Excellent decluttering 👏 & hopefully the items donated to the CS will be snapped up very quickly 😊
Florenceem, sorry to hear that MrF had another fall 😔 but relieved to hear that there was no traffic 😮💨 Hopefully he doesn’t have too many bruises 🙏 I also hope that the the lady who fell is OK 🙏 Sounds like you are enjoying watching so many old movies ☺️ Having googled all the ones you mentioned I will be keeping an eye out for The Midnight Story as it looks interesting 🙂 Shame that you were short of volunteers again ☹️ hopefully it didn’t take too long to sort the donations 🤞
TC77, well done on the digital decluttering 👏 & very well done on your decision to continue rather than go out 👏 Perhaps you could redirect the unwanted mail to a junk folder or set them to bounce back to the sender? I would say that 1,000 emails equates to 10 to add to your decluttering numbers ☺️
Concentration flagging so will post this & come back later 👋 I hope everyone has had as good a day as possible 😊

@diminua .. well done resisting the note book. I have probably a similar no to yours although maybe a third are my DD2's lightly used exercise books.
Burnt a saucepan yesterday and while its been rescued a no of times it has now retired - has a dodgy bottom, good luck card written for DD2 exams, household item to CS bag and top.16 -
Evening all@ CRANKY40 - Silver fox, lovely
Although grey/silver foxes are usually undernourished which is when I get my super food out
My silver grey male had super mix food for 2 weeks and changed colour to a beautiful brown red. He's much healthier now xxxx
There is fantastic but unexpected exciting news, swan wiseI was pottering in the garden this afternoon and the female was looking a little coy, to say the least. So I went up to the nest and said 'Show me' and she got up and both the King eggs had started to hatch. 2 large King cygnets the length & height of mums cloaca (tail/ rear end) by 5.30pm - picture below of mum with No.1 and dad pacing around like a headless chicken in the background - Typical!
. I've now mixed up seed & oil but had to put a call out for lettuce because Lids & Mr Sains were out
Neighbour dropped off 2 which I shredded and mixed with the oil seed for the Kings who I managed to feed at 7.30pm under the watchful beady eye of dad who was still prancing around!
He seems relaxed now they've both been fed
The issue now is that the Kings are 2 weeks too early, so dad is going to have to manage them while mum stays on the nest. I can't wait to see him take them on the river because he's got his hands full with those 2 curious beauties, but he's a fantastic dad!
Just fed the foxes and I've had to leave out tons of food as they're all hungry & now there's potential live pray! There are 2 garden forks ready for action, if needed, including one in the hallway. The fridge is now full of seed, oil & lettuce mix as I'll no doubt be feeding again early tomorrow morning before dad takes them on the river. Cameras are fully locked and on full sensor mode with motion activated lights locked & loaded - The things I have to do on animal farm! Babyface is taking it all in her stride and dare not even think about being vocal in the slightest but is in prime guarding position at the window as she watches dad do his thing - They have a history! He tolerates babyface giving her opinion until he stretches and then she knows she's reached the limit as next, up go the super huge swan wings for a full stretch - Flying Daxie back into the house as she knows who's King!
Off to declutter a well deserved large mug of fresh coffee as I wait for the foxes to arrive. Wishing everyone a very peaceful evening & a well rested night - Take care all - hug cupboard full & toodle-pipsky-toot for now xxxxxx

Dizzycap - I hope the babies are safe from the foxes.
I took 2 dinners home from SA yesterday - Lamb Hot Pot - there was plenty for seconds. I had my meal yesterday and we had the same dinners today so no cooking for me.
This morning I repaired my friend's daughter's jumper. Then I sewed the last patch on my friend's blouse.
Next I decided to start to tackle the frog - removing a broken zip and sewing in a new one in granddaughter's trousers. The job turned into a tadpole - so much easier with the second pair - I finished them after our midday meal.
We took a trolley full of donations to the charity shop.
Then we walked to Al.. and got some shopping - a long walk home but the buses are not running on the usual route at the moment.
I decided to go out again - walked to my friend's house to return the repaired clothes.
My final exercise was to SA to lock up after drumming.
Done over 10,000 steps today.
I have a small amount of Lamb Hotpot left in the fridge so going to use that tomorrow along with LO dinner from last week so no cooking again.
I have a Dentist's appointment tomorrow morning - just a check up - I hope.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Floss said:@Dizzycap how many eggs are there? I guess it won't be too long before the cygnets are joined by their siblings. At the last count there were 9: 2 Kings & 7 Standard eggs with mum having a bit of a job covering them all, so some divine intervention with thermal wrap put in around the base of the nest, which has fortunately, worked out well
Foxes have been well fed tonight & are keeping well away as the auto lights go on
That hasn't stopped them coming to the back door to say hello
much to the displeasure of babyface, and they were off again before I could get a picture!
Little Miss Tyke!
However, they all look healthy & well, so all good on Animal Farm
Off to get a last mug of coffee before I think about going to bed and trying to get some sleep - babyface has already gone off to bed after her usual kiss & cuddle session~ NSD 2025 - NSD July 19/20 (6 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - Ongoing~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1634.34 / £2025 (58%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £13,429.74 / £12,000 💯 - Continuing14
