We watched an Agatha Christie Hour from 1982 last night.
Today I was tackling a frog - tie backs for curtains - not an easy job in velvet fabric. I got them as far as just needing openings closed and D rings attached.
We fed the birds on our way into town. I needed to collect a prescription for toothpaste from my Dentist.
I needed some more D rings so got those while Mr F waited at the chemist.
I suggested that we got a bus to Broadstairs - got on one - it was not moving as the engine had overheated so we all got off and onto the one behind. Broadstairs was very busy - lots of people on the beach and in the sea.
We watched another 2 Agatha Christie hours this evening.
I want to get the tie backs finished so I can start on making cushion covers.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Florenceem, do you wet the bread you put out for birds? If they feed dry bread to babies, it can kill them as they can't get water to them. Also with this dry weather, adult birds need water too.
Apologies if you are already aware of this.

Hi all, another warm day here so 1 LDFPA. I got to the post office so 2 parcels posted with wrapping and packaging from stash and 2 cards posted from stash. One parcel had the 2 unopened tubes of hand cream. I spoke to another gardener today and he is going to come out to look at it sometime next week hopefully. I told him about the guy who came yesterday so he has an idea of what he's expected to do though I did tell the first guy it was a hard digging job but I don't think he really listened to me 😂. I also spoke to the roofer today and he will hopefully be out on Monday or Tuesday to look at that so some progress there. I spent quite a bit of time sorting out the towels. I have identified at least 3 to go to the animal rescue place and 15 to go to the women's refuge, mainly new unused bath towels as opposed to bath sheets, that we won't use though there are a few more that I have asked OH to look at to see if they can go as well. I am waiting for someone to contact me with an address where I can drop them off. I sorted out a couple of loads to go through the machine to freshen up as they have been hanging around in the airing cupboard for a while and what was left is back in the airing cupboard and we will now be able to rotate them and OH can check if there are any others that don't suit. OH is a bit fussy about towels, too long, too narrow, too short, too deep etc, they are all fine for me so we shall see 😂. I plan to put them in the big suitcase when I take them to the refuge as they might find that useful, if not I will bring it back home and think again 😂.
I did no more than look at the garden today apart from watering the plants in pots 😁 but I did finish off a notebook and empty the kitchen bin 😁.
Footy tomorrow so I am not expecting much to be done though I will get a couple of loads of stuff through the machine and on the line before I go out.
Off to bed now so hugs to anybody who would like one

Today I have been getting boxes ready to go in the recycling bin on Monday. Then took a bag of books to the library while roommate Di attended a book club there. Came home via a discount department store. Bought what was on my list. Came home and after feeding cats, roommate G wanted to go to the grocery store. Went with him and only shopped in the discount bin: cat food, drinks for me, English breakfast tea, and cookies. Special cat food for less than half so we can celebrate the younger cat's 1st birthday tomorrow. Didn't want to do much else unless I continue deleting emails from roommate Di's email file (started with over 12000 unread - now down to 4,000). Have her permission. And it has been very hot today - 36.6C! It is supposed to go down and bring in rain later this week. I think I burned my hand on the steering wheel. Iced it when we got home the first time. Now it is down to 31C at 6:00pm. Didn't need a blanket last night - probably won't tonight. No air conditioning here or in the library basement where I was working. Only lasted a half hour there. Went upstairs to find out about the summer reading program and sat in the cool air until Di was done. I don't think I am ready for summer at all.18

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Saturday is gloriously sunny with clear blue skies but very breezy with a high of 21°C, low 8°C DH is watching the MotoGP qualifying races & DSis is playing games on her mobile. I have my first cuppa & am intending to settle down to the cheerleading by finishing Thursday’s posts……… I got distracted & ended up doing puzzles, reading, watching TV 😔 DH went out on the bike & filled up with petrol. Dinner was chicken fried in a little butter, boiled potatoes & mixed veg. Wudupa.

Beautiful photos Dizzycap 😍 What a lovely surprise & Mr Swan must be so happy that he has a couple of sons that he can get to know before he is overtaken by females 😂 Definitely Animal Farm & a lot of hard work keeping the foxes fed so that they are not inclined to go after the cygnets 🙏
A very busy Thursday Florenceem 🤩 Excellent work with all the sewing repairs 👏 & so pleased to hear that the 2nd zip was easier 😊
Dizzycap, how lovely that the foxes are coming up to the door, although it does sound like they are teasing babyface 😂 Everything crossed that you managed to get some sleep Thursday night 🤞
Excellent work sorting out the under-stairs cupboard Brambling 👏 A medal 🏅
is on its way 😊 Hope you managed to drop off the books 😉
Liverpool_Anne, re This “Glad my little tale made so many chuckle, OH thought it was hilarious 😂…….Still only a bit of bruising so no harm done 😁” I think the only reason some of us were amused is that you didn’t do yourself any serious injury 😮💨 As to This “Honestly I am 70 this year but why my brain keeps telling me I a can still do these things and convinced me I am still 19 is beyond me 😂” perhaps you can train your brain to convince you that you are in your 30’s 😅
Dizzycap, that was a very early breakfast for babyface - 4:00 a.m. Friday 😧 Fingers crossed she didn’t want a 2nd breakfast at her usual time 🤞which of course brought to mind hobbit mealtimes 🤣 Hope the doctor’s appointment went well 🤞 85 votes for babyface 🤩 that is hilarious 🤣 Hopefully you managed to get a bit more sleep before babyface woke up wanting her 2nd breakfast 😉
WickedLady4, This “The garage is my problem area; DH feels that he needs everything in there but I disagree! I tend to leave him to it nowadays and occasionally mention that it would lighten the load for our two children if he cleared a few more things 🙂” made me smile & I am sending lots of positive vibes your way so that DH will pay more attention to your occasional mentions of decluttering 😉
Nice to see you 2Scratters 👋 I am keeping everything crossed that the weather stayed nice on Saturday & you managed to sell all your items at the car boot sale 🤞
Jellybaby, such a pleasure to read This “I’ve been away visiting an old friend for the past four days and while I had a great time with her and her DH, the highlight of the week was walking through the front door last night and my house was TIDY😁 DS2, here on his own, had even managed to wash dishes and keep the worktops clean - wonders will never cease!”
Dizzycap, daddy swan was presumably getting a bit of peace & quiet before taking his boys out & letting mummy swan have some quiet time 🙏
vulpix, I do hope that the situation down South is resolved & becomes less fraught 🙏 Sending cwtches 🤗
Florenceem, sorry to hear about the SA member but 95 is a great age. Eek to 4 fillings 😧 Great work decluttering another bag of stuff to the CS 👏
YBR, a busy & successful Friday 👏 Well done on ‘officially starting’ the packing 🥳
I have caught up a little but am nodding off now 🙂 Sleep tight 😴

Will.see what I can do in rod which needs carpet putting down but struggling to find space in other rooms to put it which given its just me (although some dds stuff ) is shocking .
Will report back later16 -
@TC77 it's just me here with 2 bedrooms of furniture. I recently had decorating & new carpet in my room so everything went onto the landing or into the spare room where I was sleeping. Now the spare room ceiling has been fixed & replastered, with decorating & new carpet within 2 weeks, so all that stuff & furniture is in my room or on the landing. I can't wait for the next Bank Holiday weekend when it will be all back in it's right place!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

@Floss, you must tell us when you've decorated. I still remember all the wonderful vibrant colours of your rooms, and also your major downsizing!
Plumber been so I can put washing machine and d/w on. He ran w/m at 30 and said that should be find but previous one said do a 60 degree wash empty as water from the sink was going into the drum.
Up v early so I didn't miss 8 call and decided to go through diy stuff - under stairs and landing cupboard and had move around of furniture - shelves/bench that was in spare room as no other space no in cupboard and putting things I use often in plastic drawers which are in corner of extension to have ready to hand bits but also put cats thing (or some) so we're not looking at them when watching tv. Out 3 cables/sockets for donation hub, others tidied, out plastic bits , v cheap insulation tape which looks as if it wouldn't work and couple of other bits, old sandpaper pretty much used as have plastic bag of unused. Counting as 10. and 15 for DD1 pick up yesterday so 835.14 -
19/52 - bin cupboard under the sink completely cleared and cleaned (it was very very yucky and overdue) and a kitchen cupboard cleared and cleaned (also yucky), with 10+ jars cleaned and put out for recycling.16
