Good evening.
Another busy week. We have almost filled a large builders skip almost just from the shed and DH spent 3 hours burning cardboard in the incinerator. DH has pulled up the rotten decking and I fetched a few bits from the kids rooms. The shed now seems to be rubbish free except for 12 large boxes of paperwork that needs going through. Note to self-dont store things in cardboard boxes because when you get a big water leak, you lose everything!
There's still things behind the shed to go through though. Sorry for the huge list, I should have posted through the week.

@Dizzycap glad you had some time to yourself today. I think you and Mrs SD are giving me more credit than I deserve.... I have a plan to make a plan for decluttering and I have rescued some cables and put 2 boxes of cables close to each other!
A couple of people posted about going through underwear so I did that quickly early this morning - 8 items almost all new and unworn but some dating from 10 years ago! All in bag to go.
DD2 gave me 20+ more pens, crayons, timer, battery charger which have all gone in donation bag, and I added some face painting crayons
Wiped out underwear and sock drawers
damaged packing out and zipped protector for blankets out as zip doesn't work.
Walked to my town hall to drop off a letter but couldn't see a letterbox so may have to buy a stampThey asked me to send a letter not email.
old receipts out and some paper clutter out
Morning is definitely the best time for me to declutter .
Couldn't resist postinga picture of little ( tigi) and large (mylo) cats soaking up the late afternoon sun.
@Moorviews , thank you its very helpful to hear stories of how people feel about being offered things. And for me to keep very much in my mind.
I may go and have a lie down!22 -
Hi, I have been locked out of MSE on my laptop since we got back from holiday. I am on my phone and find it fiddly to type much. Just not had time to figure it out yet.Out

I've told ds that you've said well done Moorviews and Mrs_S_D and in return he said "thank you". Sadly Ds doesn't build storage solutions as he has very bendy fingers. I do the building but he's great at manning the kettle.
I see that Mr_S_D seems to have turned into "the squirrel whisperer" 🤣 Yesterday a Mrs Blackbird spent a good 15 minutes taking a bath in our small solar fountain. Ds was absolutely entranced and says that now we're running a wildlife spa we need to remember to feed the birds every day 😊 He doesn't usually remember to feed the cat and we've had that for 16 years 🙄
I only decluttered 5 things yesterday as my gallbladder hates me so I went back to bed for a nap yesterday afternoon. There seems to be a slight improvement today (as in I haven't needed to go back to bed) so fingers crossed that it will stop hurting soon.16 -
Lovely pictures of pets and wildlife, also crafty things and “home improvements”. It’s been a while since I posted, but have been very tired so just reading along.
Out since last I posted:
3 magazines and 14 newspapers to recycling
3 pieces of packaging and three sheets of tissue paper decluttered around Easter chocolates for family
(money decluttered to Royal Mail to send Easter chocs. The clerk told me the price 😳 and then said “Is that ok?” to which there was only one answer … (said with humour and a smile, it’s not his fault))
bag of lots of paper bags from greengrocer and butcher: they were saved for Justin but he left them lying around and gathering dust
8 pieces of packing paper from 3 packages which arrived and three boxes from same into recycling, shredded plastic packing into hh bin
Cleared old plastic-covered greenhouse: two old compost bags filled with rubbish and binned, sorted stored flowerpots and kept only the best/most useful sizes, and binned the rest (a fairly nearby Dobbies garden centre used to take them but it closed a few months ago).
Took the frame of the greenhouse apart, saved the best of the fittings and connecting rods and binned the rest (the least rusty went into recycling, the rusty lace ones into the rubbish)
Removed/cut up the disintegrating plastic cover and binned it.
Rebuilt the good fittings and rods into a shelving unit to hold useful stuff.
Swept away a heap of empty snail shells, which told me that at least one of my toads is still making itself useful. I did find a very small toad when I went to move a broken plant pot, so left that area alone for the time being
Pulled up several yards of bindweed which was making an early start on reaching for the sky
Wishing everyone a happy Easter and fine weather for the holiday.“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

Good evening all@ charlies_tribe - WOW AWESOME decluttering going on there in your parts 👏👏🙌💪🤩🤩- Keep up the great work as you'll have the rest done and dusted in no time 🤗@ TC77 - Any decluttering effort desrves recognition & support, even if it's HH basics. It's the fact that you make the effort to actually do something that counts towards the final decluttering goal 👍🫶Loving the comfy kitty pics and I see that they comanded both chairs & rightly so! 🫶🫶@ CRANKY40 - 😂🤣 @ Wildlife Spa😍 - I'm running a wildlife zoo at the moment and it's a 24/7 job! 😂🤣'The Squirrel Whisperer' 😂🤣 - Remembering, that's how rumours start

Lovely pictures guys, I hoping reincarnation is real as I plan to come back as a pampered pet hopefully to a retired person 😁
I needed to go into town briefly this afternoon so ensured that I put together a bag for the charity shop as I was parking behind it. I pulled out the rucksack I used for my work laptop and has been under the stairs since lockdown and managed to fill it with non clothes or book related items. For reasons I no longer remember I had been keeping two cardboard boxes in the small bedroom they have been broken down for the recycling bin. I also unpacked the bag I brought back from holiday last August which had games, cards, crossword books etc 🙄

33 today as counting 20 from DD2 as given to me and could have kept them. She has got rid of other things.
I've made an effort to put away more winter clothes - I had aimed to not have to store clothes outside chest of drawers but just have one storage bag of winter clothes.
Abandoning my plan tomorrow for a long walk outside london as replacement buses for the trains so too long a journey so will have time to do more decluttering and will hopefully meet a friend for a short walk.

Been lazing this evening and decided I needed to get up and have hoovered most of the house. Definitely noticing small areas where there is more space but still a long way to go. Noticed DD2 also done drawers of her desk which were difficult to close and now lots of space.
Think I'm going to try and make my bedroom nice, too many piles of things on furniture which is all abit brown!19 -
@Brambling..I Iove the idea of coming back as a pampered pet hopefully to a retired person.
@Dizzycap, great encouragement and photos13 -
- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Saturday cont’d: so much for my short break 😉 The squirrel only sat on DH’s lap today 😉 Dinner was an HF meal - rump steak with dauphinois potatoes & garlicky green beans 🤤 Wudupa I had a nice relaxing bath & am now air drying & will let my hair dry naturally.
715 - 717 Kitchen recycling, plastic jar, drinks cans - recycled
718 Kitchen detritus binned
Before I start on cheerleading the rest of Friday’s posts, I have a little mouse tale 😊 A couple of weeks ago DSis spotted a mouse in the kitchen. We put the special plug in & put down an humane mouse trap. There has been no sign since 😮💨 Now my DSis has spotted two mice walking across & up the brick wall in order to access the fat cake in the bird feeder. Absolutely amazing 🤩
Excellent decluttering Dizzycap 👏 It might have taken longer than you anticipated to declutter your art room but now it is done, it should be a doddle to keep tidy 😊 Hopefully babyface will let you have a few hours to yourself to finish decluttering & tidying your office 🤞 Of course you will need to do it quietly so as not to wake babyface otherwise she might just ‘insist’ on helping you 🤣 This “Today's decluttering jobs include throwing out very old PJ's and I mean seriously holey old 😆 as I found three brand new pairs in the top of my wardrobe yesterday - perfect! Nothing like going shopping in your own home ❤️” is absolutely brilliant - decluttering & saving money 🤩
BlueJ94, a great start to your Friday 👏 Fingers crossed that OH’s car passed it’s MOT with no advisories 🤞
Florenceem, a very busy Thursday 👏 Sorry to hear that MrF had another fall 😞 I hope he was OK 🙏
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 & well done on only buying one item in the CS 🥳 As DD2 has appropriated a previous purchase, I think that classes as one in, one out 😊 Well done to DD2 for decluttering a big bag of pens 👏
Didn’t get far with the cheerleading but my hair is dry & I am heading to bed. Sleep tight 😴
