I haven't posted since Thursday when I said that Mr F had insisted upon going out - he was taking a suitcase of stuff to the charity shop.
He hadn't returned after 2 hours so I went out looking for him. There are public toilets near the charity shop so I wondered if he was in there. I waited until a nice looking chap came along and asked him if he could see if an elderly man wearing a tribly was in there - he wasn't.
I found Mr F in the charity shop still - they had put him on a chair as he had come over wobbly. They were trying to ring home but the landline is only broadband now.
I managed to walk him home - had to stop a few times as he was unsteady.
I settled him indoors with a cup of tea and popped to SA. A friend turned up to help me sort donations.
As I got to my front door - I heard a crash and could see through the glass that Mr F had fallen in the hall way - over nothing. He wasn't hurt.
The evening got worse as he had a sit down strike - literally in the bathroom - he was in there for 2 hours!
He is zoning out and losing track of time.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

So…….. the sorting turned into……
…..rearranging all the furniture in the living room!!
Definitely not what we had planned when we woke up this morning. It has also resulted in practicing some hurdling in order to get over the furniture……

Grannykate, That must be heartbreaking for the family. Much sympathy. On a less important note, I hope you find the right cat.
Machasraven - that looks so inviting. I do love window seats
Lots has left the building today - although to be more accurate the outside of the building. The last bits of the roof etc works got finished and they kindly filled half the skip for me - as well as putting their stuff in they helped with the general patio and garden clutter, shifting all the heavy and bulky stuff that I would have struggled with on my own. This leaves me with half of an 8 yard skip to fill, and 13 days to do it in. The patio and gardens look so much better for what they have done, and I will be able to potter and sort the smaller things too assuming the weather is kind. The idea is to fill the rest with things that I can't rehome or put into the house hold waste so things like scrappy offcuts of wood that fill the house. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

I thought I wasn’t going to do much today, but seem to have done more than I thought (although much less than the real heroines on here accomplish).
I went straight from walking my dog to walking up to village to put in repeat prescription request and to the shop for a few bits. I’d half planned to catch the bus back home (2-hourly service) but when I got to the bus stop there was a 15 minute wait, so I decided to walk home. The bus beat me by a couple of minutes. But I was quite tired when I got home.
In came a few bits for me and some biscuits for an afternoon with friends on Monday. And a late Christmas gift. I didn’t eat any of the cheese I bought for Christmas, so I now have enough cheese to last me until Easter. 🧀🧀🧀
I dozed off after lunch and woke up as thick-headed as a thick-headed thing.
Out sort of things:
frog connected with a social group I run done
bag of kitchen waste to black wheelie bin
read utilities meters
magazine to recycling
received late (delayed in post!) Christmas gift of cheese & chutney hamper
- of which chutneys in cupboard
- cheeses in unheated study
- wood shavings (packaging) bagged up & put in garden store to give to hedgehog next autumn
- cardboard box to recycling
- plastic mailing bag turned inside out and placed as loner for cloakroom waste paper basket
- email to sender to say gift arrived“Tomorrow is another day for decluttering.”Decluttering 2023 🏅🏅🏅🏅⭐️⭐️

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed

Thanks Daisy. I've seen them and did think of getting one but decided on the slipper socks because I can walk about in them. I suppose, provided the bottle was on top, I could leave it on my feet and jump everywhere - sort of like a sack race 🤔. @GrannyKate - very sad news.
basketcase - I am on edge wondering what will happen next.
I got Mr F to bed on Thursday evening.
I was woken in the night by a crash - he had got up to use the bathroom and fallen - he said he was okay. When I got up and put the light on at 7 to give him his antibiotic - blood over his pillow - he had gashed his head. I cleaned him up and waited for 8 to phone the surgery to get an appointment. I got one for the afternoon which was good as Mr F gets worse as the day goes on.
We saw a Doctor that we knew well from our old Church - so she could see the deterioration in Mr F. Dr is booking Mr F for a head mri - no idea of waiting list time.
I got my friend at SA to print labels for me - the new printer has arrived but not set it up.
I haven't touched my new sewing machine as too preoccupied with events surrounding Mr F.
In the evening - I had a really hard time with Mr F having a shower - just forgetting what he is doing or taking so long. I am having to tell him what to do like a child.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
