Lovely terrarium @Muddy_Walker. Your attitude towards your illness does you great credit. This really is a runaway train. Blink and you’re 2 pages behind. Lovely to “see” everyone. Really helps to get different perspectives on this declutterring journey. So many helpful tips. I’ve altered a dog coat this week to give it a bit more life. Sorted a frog which has plagued me since October. Been rather busy in RL but have managed to sort a small box for CS. Hasn’t left the house yet, but still looking on it as an achievement. My favoured CS is an 18 mile round trip, so like to try and get at least half a car full to make it worth my while. Well done on all the achievements so far. What a great start to the new year. “Keep declutterring” (Strictly music🕺💃) Have a great weekend and stay safe and warm22

Hi all, bit of a slow decluttering day yesterday. I had to go to the sm as OH had drunk most of the milk and we were dangerously low on toilet roll
. Ended up with a list after telling OH I was going 🤷.. OH was going to the accountants so wasn't available to help. All put away when I got home. Quick sort round and 2 boxes binned, 1 LDFPA from the maiden, 1 frog sorted that has been hanging around too long and 200 emails deleted. Then I decided to finish the baby blanket but I didn't like the border I had done so that got frogged and I will finish it today. Coming in 1 tube of eye gel so my eyes feel much better and 1 pair of thicker trousers that I have been hunting for for a while. I have quite a few thinner trousers and I have struggled a bit in this colder weather. I will have a hunt through to find an old pair to bin, I have a few pairs that are for use in the garden or when painting
. Also I realised today the trousers I wore were a little long as I have lost some weight since I bought them and they now hang lower so they need the hem sorting as they were wet when I got home so they are drying out and will go in the mending pile
.
@~FlowerPot~ what a lovely photo, I wish my phone took photos as well as that
@Muddy_Walker beautiful terrarium. I don't know if you have tried this but OH"s dsis used to show her dogs and if she had one that used to pull on the lead she used a lead that connected to a strap over the nose rather than a collar. It was a bit like a mussle but not iyswim. It doesn't hurt them but it always worked and she could revert to the lead on a collar after a few months and they didn't pull anymore. It might be worth a try as you are walking 2 dogs
Everyone is doing amazingly
Right off for another cuppa and then to sort out what I am going to do today, I might even get the dreaded iron out
Hugs to everyone who would like one
17 & 18 cardboard boxes
19 LDFPA
20 frog
21 & 22 200 emails permanently deleted
Take care everyone

Moving tips:
I heard one which I thought was helpful. Use up old coloured paint by painting a big smear of paint on outside of your boxes i.e blue for bedroom 1, orange for dining room etc. You can add numbers on top of the painted section once dry if that also helps. Fingers crossed none of the removal team are colour blind.
Also as someone who works in a sm we are always happy to provide boxes for people but please give us 24 hours notice. Some people seem to think we have a ready supply but we're busy and need to sort and put to one side any such boxes.

Hi all. Didn't get as much done as I hoped yesterday as went for lunch at garden centre with DIL when she took a work break. I didn't buy anything but food although I was tempted. Roofers are due any minute to do garage so I need to get dressed and move car.
@Janeryan - yes numbering boxes was as @daisy_1571 said. I started collecting boxes early on and would agree banana boxes are great for books. I also bought about a dozen of those large zip up bags from HB type shops for curtains and bedding. Will post more later.2025 Decluttering Campaign 635/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Just Wow! And a big round of applause for all the fabulous decluttering so far! 👏👏👏
I love the beautiful photos too. Craft and flowers, two of my favourite things!
@Liverpool_Anne - well done for finding the perfect winter trousers. Like you, anything new now leads to me going through what I have and letting something else go. I don’t want a massive wardrobe of clothes. The Christmas decorations are coming down this weekend, including all the ones in the loft that we didn’t use. Everything is going to be sorted and what we don’t want will go into a box for the CS later in the year.I have put two books aside for donation and am also planning another cull for the bookseller. We were determined that we only keep what can be accommodated on our existing bookshelves and are continuing to stick to that. Otherwise, I have decluttered a box of chocolates and we are still working our way through the Christmas foodstuffs.21 -
Good morning. Yesterday was supposed to be a bathroom clean but I had shopping being delivered at 11 so I started sorting through the fridge. DH just keeps pulling more bottes/cans of pop in when the kids drink one and I can't find anything. Started with the drawers and ended up with quite a bit thrown away as I'd forgotten about it as DH had shoved things that shouldn't be there in to the drawers. I didn't get to the actual shelves before the shopping arrived.
I put what I could away and then started on the pantry. I realise food waste is a lot higher than it really should be, I definitely need to be stricter with what I buy. I sorted 2 shelves in there but still more to do.
Today is bedroom day! The children's room especially need a good tidy. And DH is going to take down the christmas Dec's before the snow arrives. I was supposed to be taking DD3F to Liverpool tomorrow to see his brother but we've changed it to next week instead, incase the snow does get bad.
I really wanted to go to chatsworth House before it closes tomorrow as we have a yearly ticket and was hoping to see the lights, but everything has just been so busy lately and I don't think we'll fit it in this weekend either.
Well that was supposed to be a quick post! Have a good day everyone.

Morning everyone,
I spent 30 minutes in my spare room yesterday, I've organised some of the stuff a little better and have put some items in the charity bag and some items to wash before going in the bag. I also binned about 10 pairs of old tights and put a load of paper and card in the recycling bin. Also decluttered some cobwebs
All Xmas decs are down and put away tidily - never usually this early - go me!!
I've started the big frog that is my self assessment ...
Love to all

mehefin, even worse than an election. Our MP wants to merge the High Peak with Greater Manchester. Poor lad has only been in office a few weeks and he is having the roasting of his life. A very unpopular idea which everyone is against.
Craft and flowers are 2 of my favourite things too Moorviews. Thank you everyone for posting your lovely photo's.
I am a massive fan of a banana box Daisy,I couldn't move with any other box. I use them for everything as they stack so well. We moved ourselves last time. The time before we had removal people. They loved my banana boxes. They said it is their worst fear to turn up to a job and it's all in carrier bags ! The only thing I would add to your tips is a moving box in the car with kettle, mugs, milk tea etc and of course loo roll.
frog eaten, oiled a squeaky door hinge
Bathroom cupboards gone through, 2 hair conditioners to return to DD1 from when she last stayed here.
a new nail varnish to give to DD1
All I did yesterday was knit. The jumper is finished, I don't mind the sewing up,it's the picking up stitches and doing the neck I hate. One of my gang came round.( Sounds great that I am in a gang rather than a craft group.) She has sewn up her knitted squares into a blanket. I think she will become a crafter. Proper gang meeting starts next week.
A bottle of whiskey in. A thank you for some work by Mr V. We don't drink very much so another bottle for a raffle prize when needed.
My new next door neighbour called with 2 bunches of roses and some chocolates. She is having new flooring and was sorry for the noise. Not a problem but very nice of her. I still have flowers from Christmas, how lovely to have an abundance.
We are off out now before the snow comes. Stay safe and warm people. Vx:27 -
@~FlowerPot~ lovely picture of the primulas. And what great resolution!
@Muddy_Walker love the terrarium. My DD bought one and it's growing like mad. You, her and your assorted terraria inhabitants could get together and take over the world! 🤣
No more snow today, although it was bitterly cold when I first got up this morning. It’s now a balmy -6degC, supposedly rocketing to minus 4, but it's nice and sunny out there. Needless to say, the heating’s still on! I may switch it off for a while but at the moment I’m bunny-sitting DD’s rabbit. She’s very small and loses heat really quickly. So, although I’m all for “heat the person, not the room”, “heat the small bunny, not the room” is a bit more problematic! So I decided to kill 2 birds with 1 stone and washed 2 loads of assorted towels and cloths to make use of the residual heat overnight and which are very nearly bone dry now.
Yesterday, once the heavy snow showers had stopped, was a run to Costco to replenish stocks. This was budgetted; however, the 2 pairs of slipper socks (£4.79 for the 2 pairs, inc VAT) were not – so not a NSD. What can I say? My feet get really cold. And anyway, one pair’s a Christmas present for DD. (We’re having a present opening session on 9 January when she gets back!).
It might be pushing the definition a bit to call it decluttering, but I did manage some. The ‘Container of the Day’ was one of my washing hampers, plus a canvas bag (see above). I also took a full bag of recycling out. (I did declutter yet another pile of rabbit droppings – but I haven’t counted those before, and won’t do so here. Mind you, if I literally counted them, I reckon I’d’ve hit 2025 already! 🙃)
On the subject of decluttering, I wrote on Make Do, Mend and Minimise that “Being part of my minimising/decluttering counts, I've noticed how often I've mentioned it - and I'm appalled.
"Of course, recycling's better than sending it to landfill. BUT I've decided to try to minimise the amount of stuff I get with elements that need recycling in the first place. (If that makes sense?)”
Or, although it sometimes feels like it, do you think “Decluttering the Entire Planet” might be a tad ambitious? 🤪
