- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Finally back after having a bowl of hm soup which was delicious 😋 I finished reading my fiction magazine & completing the puzzles. Now back & raring to go:
~FlowerPot~, lovely post 😊 & thanks for the reminder about Swedish Death Cleaning 👏
Of course you can join Natty68 👋 No such thing as failing ‘wagging finger emoji’ You couldn’t have ‘failed badly’ in 2024 otherwise you & your DH wouldn’t have been awarded gold stars 😉 Real life (RL) obviously intruded & I like to think that you have just been ‘marshalling your decluttering forces’ ready to start your 2025 Decluttering Campaign 😊
Great post dND 😊 a good idea re the masking tape & permanent marker pen 🙂 I do love reading our first posts of the year on the Thread - a chance to remind ourselves of how & why we declutter plus a chance to share what method/s have worked for us 👏 A mine of information & a huge encouragement not only to our new recruits but also to our veterans 🥹
~FlowerPot~ , we weren’t too bad on NYE unlike other parts of the country where events were cancelled 😔 Such a shame 😔 Your target of 2025 items has been noted 😊 As you said - 6 items a day 👏 Now you just need to hone that & decide what you are counting 🤔 I count any daily recycling & rubbish disposal which automatically gives me 2 of 6, leaving only 4 items 😉 Good luck 🍀
EcoIntent, I hear you - NO counting ✅ Your new method of working round the house & by category seems to be your perfect fit 👏🥳 An absolutely brilliant start to your 2025 Decluttering campaign 👏 & I really admire your commitment to your name “EcoIntent” 💐 grown in a garden 😉
Nice to see you retiredinfrance 👋 I have made a note of your 365 target & the target areas you have earmarked 😊 Sadly the garage has reverted to being a bit of a tip 😔 so that is back on the agenda Once the warmer weather arrives 😉 Thanks for the reminder of the Charabanc 👏 of course now it just wouldn’t cope 😂
Another page done & perfect timing as I need another cuppa 😉 I do hope everyone has had a good day so far & has managed to stay warm 🤞

I'll join for 2025 please, without a total as I will also just clear, and not count. Wow 20 pages already! I enjoy the thread, and will need to continue to dip in and out, due to the speed of the train relative to available time!
We've been decluttering in the background. There's always a big charity shop bag on the go. It's full and so we will drop it off this weekend. It has a mug in and some of DS's too small clothes, amoungst other things.
It's moving year. Well done on the unpacking @GrannyKate and I'm glad the numbering system is working well for unpacking. We are getting quotes from removal companies. We hope to do more clearing out this weekend. Like one of the newcomers mentioned, I also hang on to clothes I've not worn for years. Maybe some will go this weekend.
I will list some pjs on ebay. I've not joined Vinted but hear it's good. I got some gifted at Christmas which were too big (doesn't usually happen), and I have some from a Christmas past, still with tags on, that I don't like due to the sleeves being short. I might just see if the new house is warmer before I get rid of them, or keep them for warm summer use. I've not worn them in the current cold house.
Off to the quiet coach after the hecticness of Christmas.

Took down the Christmas deccies and put them away. We also sorted through some extraneous Christmas bits and a few of them are off to charity and others have been bagged up to be added to Christmas presents for next Christmas.I did buy a new jewellery stand, it didn’t look so big in the shop……however it does mean I can combine two jewellery stands into one so I’ll take that as a win. The previous ones can go to charity and it’s space taken up in one place rather than two so that’s another win.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Hellooooooo! 2nd day back working which has been good actually as I’m now back in a routine. I will admit however I was in pyjamas today (I work from home) and then had a lovely long hot shower after. Lush!
1st jab of the year today - I have 2 this month as they are 28 days apart so waiting for that to kick in and knock me out. In a newly changed bed how fabulous! (For those who don’t know I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer 2 years ago and although it isn’t curable there are treatment options that keep me going.)(I also have a very dry sense of humour which also keeps me going and confuses a lot of people as they seem to think I should be all doom and gloom)
Drum roll please…….I have decluttered the following:
1-2 last years calendars
3 step progress tracker
4 very large envelope which can’t be used
5 a pencil and a biro I don’t like
6 3 pairs of pants which have definitely absolutely shrunk in the wash 😂
7 2 Am boxes
8-10 6 bras that do NOT fit in any way shape or form
Green things - I decided it would be good for my mind to spend gentle time outside plodding away and to make a note of it. As MrsSD knows I try and do All the Things and get frustrated when I can’t. So green things this week were:
Put my terrinium together I got for Christmas and I am very happy with it! Will try and post a picture.
Yanked some weeds up
Managed to walk both dogs together (I call this weight training as they pull so much) with dog2 chuntering away and dog1 winding him up 🤣
That’s it for now. Take care and happy decluttering xxx⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering
