2025 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD - The Joy of Decluttering

Rearranged the garden yesterday, lifted some old concrete slabs (which will be repurposed behind the shed) to turn that area over to grass.Moved the honeysuckle and holly which live in huge pots to different parts of the garden where they’ll hopefully thrive.Decluttered lots of rubble and weeded some pots.Repotted a bleeding heart and a blueberry bush and put two strawberry planters outside the gate with their ‘free’ labels on them and they too have magically vanished!✒️ Declutter 2025 🏅👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

CRANKY40 said:Thanks @Dizzycap but I'm not overwhelmed. All the things that need to go are very well hidden so the house is tidy. I also did a similar decluter when we moved from a 4 bedroom 5 storey house into this 3 bed terraced house. It took me 3 months then so I worked a but faster because we were moving house. I can afford to go a bit slower this time.
Just 5 things gone for yesterday as I did the ironing and some gardening too. Another bin bag of ivy gone and some rose pruning done as there doesn't seem to be any frost in the forecast. The roses will be sealed up by the time/if we get another frosty night.@ CRANKY40 So glad you're not overwhelmedI was in the same boat except I had clutter upon clutter all being hidden and house looking tidy. It eventually became impossible to ignore as everytime I opened a cupboard, draw etc things fell out or I couldn't shut it again! :#2sWell, the decluttering list is chugging along nicely with everything completed outside, except leaf clearing at the front as I just began running out of energy, so I've stopped and will do that tomorrow. It's only a 5-10 minute job but I know if I do it, I will have to go to bed and rest, so it's not worth pushing it
Now decluttering a cup of coffee while having snuggly kissy time with babyfacebefore I clean the office desk, wash the bathroom and kitchen floors, and sling the hoover around the house a little
I'll have a rest and then start with taking more pics and getting more decluttering listings up and running. The sooner I get things listed, the sooner they hopefully get decluttered off to new homes

I am not able to keep up with this bullet train, life gets in the way and then there are another 70 pages for me to read. I am still decluttering though and have now cleared 370 items. Not as many as I would like, but better out than in!

Hi all, slow decluttering over the past couple of days, 2 LDFPA, lr bin, kitchen bin and kitchen recycling. On Saturday I was at the football and yesterday the weather was so nice I spent some time in the garden just pottering around and sitting in the sun with a cuppa 😁.
I have another load swishing which OH sorted and brought down last night after spending the day batch cooking for a visit to dniece today. Several things will be decluttered with this visit, some toys for the baby, some clothes for the new baby due in May, some food, a plastic storage box and a bowl which have been lurking since Christmas which belong to OH's Dsis. I am not going as I am expecting the builder today to look at putting a toilet under the stairs so I have some tidying up to do so he can see the wood for the trees 😂. Obviously as OH has been in the kitchen that needs to be sorted 😐 and a few other things moved but I am not emptying under the stairs until I know that the job will be done. To be fair although there is stuff in there it is pretty well organised and would only take 15 mins to empty but I am anticipating half of the kitchen cabinets will have to come out and that will be where I will have to spend some time. I am hoping the other half of the cabinets can stay until they are replaced so I will need to work out what we use daily and hopefully can stay while storing the less used items elsewhere. This of course is all in my head and might be totally unrealistic 😂. I also think the wood store outside will have to be moved to sort the drains and that will be a biggish job but it needs sorting out anyway so I will cross that bridge when I get there 😂.
@Yoshimi2025 I have had a look at the boots thing online and I think I might struggle to get 40 items into their recycling scheme every month as we do have kerbside recycling here that takes most things but things like empty tubes of toothpaste and pump action dispensers might be possible. I think I will have to go to the shop and see what they say 😁.
@GrannyKate well done on restoring the pond for the toads 😁. I have frogs that lurk around the garden 😁. Glad you have help for the ceiling painting, I find that the hardest thing to do, all that up and down ladders balancing paint and brush etc 😁.
@Jellybaby welcome aboard and I am looking forward to following your journey 😁
@dND nice to see you 😁. If you have kerbside recycling you might be able to put your glass in that. I can do that as I found out when I had some windows replaced and the old glass went into the recycling wheelie bin. Or alternatively if you have a local buy nothing someone might want it, another way I have disposed of old windows to some one who wanted to build a cold frame 😁, might save you a trip to the tip 😁. I love the idea of an orchard wall, it sounds amazing. I have 2 cherries and a plum tree waiting to be planted 😁. Hope you can sort out your French bank account, things like that wear you down, hugs.
@Vulpix I know what you mean about lack of sleep, I am hopeless if I don't get at least 4 hours. Hope you managed to get enough sleep last night. Glad the viewing went well and the asking price was offered, at least you know it will sell even if you have to wait until he sells his house, though I suppose that depends on how quick the market is in his area. Have you any news on your Mum's house?
@Florenceem you have had a very difficult time over the past year or so, so it's not surprising you are run down, please look after yourself. I know several people who have had colds turn into chest infections recently, if you don't improve maybe a visit to the Drs is needed, hugs.
@Mrs SD looking forward to your adventures on this year's rbr. I really love the idea of that challenge 😁.
Right off to get another cuppa and then tackle the kitchen 😂
Hugs to everyone who would like one

So much for taking things slowly, a drawer at a time! I went searching for an instruction manual last night and after pulling out and raking through about fifteen boxes of paperwork gave up. Up bright and early I’ve now amassed roughly three black bin bags of paper that can be shredded! The liberation of forty plus years of work stuff - keep it just in case…..why??? - is fabulous! Not to mention the lovely empty cupboard space. Still haven’t found the instruction manual 🤣🤣

esm, what a fabulous thing to do to offer to foster a child/ children.
I worked in fostering and adoption many moons ago. My first husband and I did the foster parent training and I then got pregnant so we never actually made it.
Charlies tribe, I know what you mean about your dogs fur. My fluffy cat struggles to keep up with grooming when she is losing her winter coat. I keep chopping lumps out when I can but she doesn't tolerate it well. Currently she is sporting a very bad half haircut.
Oh what a difference a good nights sleep makes.
Had the phone appointment with the nurse. It was much more productive than I was expecting. Bloods booked for the first port of call.
How fantastic is this run of weather? Although it's cold I will have a little tidy up in the garden later. Brambles are invading from the top garden (which isn't mine).
Just realised it's my Birthday this week. The Birthday girl takes cake to craft club. CBA baking, must remember to pick something up from the shop.
As I can no longer see properly I have booked an appointment to get my eyebrows done. I have never had a beauty treatment of any kind before, and you can tellQuite worrying that I can't see to tend to my beard very well either. I could end up full ZZ top!

👋 hi @Liverpool_AnneI thought that too but it quickly adds up, individual sanitary product wrappers, vitamin tubs, toothbrushes etc, even individual floss sticks (I don’t use them but Son3 does), plus my grandaughters bring me their used up make up empties, pays to train them up into the frugality from the get go 🤣🤣 xxxDecluttering Challenge 2025/1483

However, whether someone with a brain has actually questioned if there are any potential dangers of usage to those with any metal or medical conditions which require, as in the case of your brother, someone having a pacemaker, inside their body is clearly debatable based upon the electronic doors used, let alone whether they are disabled friendly, which by the look of them, they don't appear to be
Personally, I wouldn't use them either 👎👎👎
