Mrs SD - yes I am still madly in love with my new sewing machine. My poor new overlocker has yet to be used.
No Church this morning as not well enough and no wish to inflict my germs on others. Apparently lots of folk have this flu virus.
A Church friend dropped off a bag of food in the porch before she went to preach at a local Corps.
I do feel a bit better today and I have been working on the curtains.
I have the curtains and linings at a point where they need pressing - will do that tomorrow morning.
2 DGC called by - saw them at the door as they don't want to be ill - J is off to Dublin in his show and A is at teaching placement.
Had an email about an Eb.. sale - arrived broken. I thought it was securely packaged - who knows what the delivery people did with it.
C has text me - hope I am feeling better + when will I be available to count.

Good evening Declutteri - It seems that I've missed a number of decluttering posts, so I'm sorry if I haven't said much about others posts@ Jellybaby - Welcome to our lovely collective declutteri club and I'm sure you'll be an inspiration to us all as we journey through into clutter freedom&&& - I saw a post somewhere where someone was saying they've begun decluttering in their bedroom and it sounded as though they were a little overwhelmed, although they were delighted by their now decluttered bedside cabinate and that it looked great
Decluttering can be overwhelming at first and in very overwhelming for some. You could try a very simple method of a 10/10/10 rule. Choose a single room and find 10 items that need to be binned -put in a bin liner, 10 to give away to a CS / someone else or sell - put in a box, and 10 items that you want to keep - put in their rightful place, if not already. Once you know how that feels after a break add as many visits to the your choosen as that you feel comfortable with for that day. There is no right or wrong amount and no set completion time. It's how you cope & manage decluttering whilst keeping everything else in a balanced tandem and before you know it, you'll be repeating the exercise 2,3+ times each day and as you begin to see the results, no matter how small, you know your on the path to becoming clutter free
Can you believe I started this post at around 9pm and in between typing on MSE, I've listed, relisted, labelled & decluttered 8 parcels into the RM Quad Locker while taking babyface for her night walk and all before 10.30pm tonightBabyface is noisily demolishing a large piece of home cooked pork cracking in between talking to the fox through the window while wagging her tail
I'm decluttering a large mug of coffee, as expected
I won't sleep if I don't.
Talking of sleep, for those who are suffering with poor sleep at the moment, I have tried everything ever written and suggested on the subject of insomnia and sleeping patterns, then I totally broke the rules regarding drinking caffeinated drinks just before going to bed and also watching programmes on my IPlayer when I get into bed and I'm out like a light within 10-15 minutes and I only ever wake up if may physical pain becomes too chronic and I need to move to help get some relief which is when I have another cup of coffee and repeat the exercise after going to the loo - I manage between 4-6 hours at night with additional rest & sleep mid to late afternoon for an hour when needed.Oops, time is ticking and I'm off to bed. Nghy, night and hugs to all who would like 1 or 2+ Toodle-pip xxx~ NSD 2025 - NSD May 7/20 (4 x💯)# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £603.29 / £667.95 (90%)# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £9423.18 / £12,000 (78.5%)# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1170.23 / £1,378 (85%)~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺~ Decluttering Awards 2025: 🏅🏅☕️⭐️💐🏅⭐️⭐️☕️☕️⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £708.29 / £2025 (35%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯15 -
Thank you CRANKY. In my sleep deprived state I didn't remember to give relaxation noise a go.I used to listen to tapes years ago when I was really bad. Thanks for reminding me. Doh! I have just realised I have put the fan in the wardrobe for the Estate Agent photo's and not brought it out again. I usually sleep with the fan on all night!
Thank you also Pennypincin, I think I have solved the mystery as to why I slept so badly. Doh!
hello and welcome jellybaby.
The viewing seemed to go well. He offered me the asking price but his isn't sold yet. I am braced for an onslaught of people wanting to come for a nosy tomorrow when the EA is open. My telephone appointment with a nurse is tomorrow. Not holding my breath to get anywhere.
Gave a pillow and pillow case to someone in need of one. Thant's great as they are a big thing to find storage for. Used up some moisturiser and ate all the left over flap jack from yesterday.
Fan on, check. Ear plugs in , check. Lets see if I can sleep.

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Sunday was another bright sunny day but chilly in the shade high 17°C & low 8°C. I watched a wonderful film called Thelma (2024) DH received his landmark list for RBR (Round Britain Rally) 2025 & had a quick glance. Usually he would spend the next few hours planning but today he decided to go out for his daily walk about 14:00. I have read my weekly magazine & completed my competition entry form.
Back to cheerleading Friday’s posts
Excellent decluttering of clothes CRANKY40 👏 This “Did anyone else's mum or nan tell them you needed decent underwear on if you were going out in case you were run over?” I remember that vividly 😂
Lovely post GrannyKate 😊 What a wonderful trip your DD has planned & booked - Portugal in July 🥹
Pennypincin, great work reducing the contents of your food cupboard 👏 I have joined you in only getting DH to buy items when they are needed 😉 Menu planning is great for letting the supermarkets store food rather than having bulging cupboards with the possibility of food going out of date 😅 - only taken me 40 years to realise that 🤣
daisy_1571 😣 not to tempt fate but I have been very fortunate - walking pace accidents on the motorbike & only as a pillion 😮💨 Not withstanding the accident This “I remember looking at my pants ………, and although I had the figure for them in those days they were sensible rather than foxy” did make me smile 😀 I have never been one for ‘foxy’ underwear - always worn comfortable undies even as a teenager 😉
Florenceem, sorry to hear that you were feeling so unwell on Friday 😞 and I hope that you are feeling better now & have had plenty of rest 🙏 At the rate you are making curtains, you will soon be able to make them in your sleep 😉 I imagine that either R hasn’t had time to hang the curtains OR she needs assistance. The care you take over everything you make means that the curtains will be perfect 😍
You are most welcome Blue_Doggy 😊 I think mattresses should come with a health warning ⚠️ especially the ones you have to flip AND turn 😬 Excellent work on Thursday 👏 Such a shame that the vases need to be decluttered although if they were your mum’s, I would be tempted to keep a favourite one 🤔 I know, I know I am supposed to be encouraging you to declutter but…… 😊 Puppy_wuppy sounds like he had a lovely time on Friday afternoon 😊 such a shame that the C-A-T didn’t want to play 😉
Yoshimi2025, talk about forward planning 😁 now you just have to remember where you put the packets of hair scrunchies & hair ties 😉 although come to think of it you probably have a dedicated area 😊
Brie hopefully your friend will be grateful that you have arranged a meeting for him & it will start to concentrate his mind on what he has to do 😊
DH got back about 16:00 & is now planning his RBR trips 😉 I started dinner prepping @ 17:00 by putting pork joint (with crackling) in the oven to slow roast + peeling & chopping all the vegetables then started cooking at 18:15. Our dinner was roast pork, roast potatoes, parsnips & carrots, broccoli, Yorkshire puddings & hm gravy 😋Apart from overcooking the broccoli, everything else was cooked to perfection - even if I do say so myself 😂 The only trouble with having a roast dinner is that there is so much washing up 🙁 DSis & I are now catching up on all things Crufts 😉 The Flyball Semis are about to start so broke off to do the washing up with one baking tray soaking & the rest being left to dry
QueenJess, no need to “slope away quickly” after all this is a one off 😊 & your DD will be very pleased to have a good supply of colouring pencils 😊
Thanks Brie 😊 Hopefully London_1 will pop in just to let us know she is Ok 🤞
Dizzycap, so pleased to hear that you have a suitable celebration planned 😊 A very busy Friday 👏 & I loved that babyface showed her excitement by doing fruit_loops round the garden whilst you were mowing the lawn ☺️ Eek to the unexpected decluttering in the shed 😬 Well done on tackling the job 👏 & please have 2 💐💐 - one for your house & one for the shed 🙂 Everything crossed that the traps work & you will not have a recurrence 🤞
Lovely cheerleading vulpix 🥹 Hopefully DH will start to notice a difference when he has his 2nd treatment 🤞 Good luck with your house sale 🍀especially as you seem to have found your penultimate project 😊 Very pleased to hear that your DIL is on the mend 🥹 & hopefully she will soon be recovered enough to start eating 🙏
Caught up with the last of Friday’s posts 🥳 I finished the last bit of washing up, then dupa.

Morning all! Fab weekend of decluttering - went through all seeds - gave some to mum and planted lettuce rocket radish beetroot and carrot. Also planted some sweet peas. Did all ironing and packed for our holiday - we are going to my cousins wedding in India - will be an experience!!
recycling here today so that’s lots out too. Went through the loft on Saturday with DH and put more stuff up there as we move forward in our attempt to become foster parents. Unpicked a pair of jeans to make into a long skirt which I will sew up tonight. Lovely warm weather at the weekend has made me feel wonderfully positive for the year ahead. Here’s to a great week for allMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

Good morning. What a lovely weekend of sunshine. I managed at least 6 loads of washing dry on the line. I decluttered the dog of his thick curls over the weekend. Just a little bit more to do (have to do it in bits as the clippers get warm) then he can have a bath and be neatened up. A whole carrier bag of dog hair from him.
The car decided to declutter itself Friday evening. DH went out to work and it wouldn't start. He now thinks its the starter motor so will look into getting that fixed today.
I did tackle the children's bedroom floor that I could see. So many boxes and packaging still from christmas. The bin bag was counted as 1 but I've no idea what actually went in there, it was full.
This morning DD1 is going to pick me up after dropping DGD at nursery to go get her birthday present. I was supposed to pick it up over the weekend but haven't been able to because of the car. Can't believe the is 3 today. Time goes so quickly.
Right, just seen time, better get some kids ready for school, they dont want to go as its mocks for 2 of them and they are both really anxious, I keep telling them its just 15 weeks and it'll all be over forever.

Thanks @Dizzycap but I'm not overwhelmed. All the things that need to go are very well hidden so the house is tidy. I also did a similar declutter when we moved from a 4 bedroom 5 storey house into this 3 bed terraced house. It took me 3 months then so I worked a bit faster because we were moving house. I can afford to go a bit slower this time.
Just 5 things gone for yesterday as I did the ironing and some gardening too. Another bin bag of ivy gone and some rose pruning done as there doesn't seem to be any frost in the forecast. The roses will be sealed up by the time/if we get another frosty night.15 -

That looks like another good reason not to shop at Tesco. Woke up late this morning so scrambled to get kid's breakfasts and to school on time. Local history meeting this afternoon.
