Everyone is doing a fantastic job decluttering and it's so inspiring to read all the great efforts to help keep the decluttering train ticking along, daily@ daisy_1571 - I came onto the threat right at your post and was greeted with: I was told the same re underwear, heavens yes it was v important! And then just sat here in pause mode, read the rest of your post, which was an awful experience for you, both times, before my brain screamed scroll up, scroll up to link it......@ Mrs_Salad_Dodger - Just wondering if you watched the daxies on Crufts yesterday 🙂YES, I loved them all and I'd have them ALL in a heartbeat!
Don't get me started on Beagles either because I adore them too
The removal of the mega wardrobe of doom and the arrival of a standard wardrobe will be celebrated with all the proceeds from the decluttering going to a now very long weekend break for my daughter & IDeclutter of the Day - OMG!All began well, decluttered the usual HH paper bins, sprayed all the kitchen surfaces ect and decluttered my usual large mug of fresh coffee and packed up another 2 parcels to be decluttered at the RM quad locker. Took babyface for her walk, decluttered the dolly trolly at the CS and the 2 parcels at the RM QL and came home to lovely morning sunshinePottered around in the garden with babyface and decided on a sling around long cut lawn mower stint which only took 15 minutes and made the lawn look tidier, which babyface loved!
She's always got to be included as the helper doing fruit-loops all over the place, but well away from the lawn mower
typical Daxie
All done and another decluttering of water followed by coffee. I decided to check on the shed where I keep all the gardening items to find a large pile of stones in one of the corners behind a plastic storage unit which I pulled out and discovered stomes everywhere. Curious, I decided to take everything out of the 2nd shed and low and behold rats had been in and as I began taking everything out the stench was unbearable. I had to put a peg on my nose and wear a mask and gloves to clear up all the mess before I began repairs, put down agent and set-up the electronic deterants. All-in-all it took 4 hours and I had to stip off my clothes in the shed, put on a summer dressing gown and then threw the whole lot into the washing machine once I left my shoes outside & got back indoors while I took a hot shower, much to the pleasure and excitement of babyface who thought I'd come up with a new game!babyface also she got an extra bath too and just loved the swim around followed by rolling around on the freshly cut lawn - little tyke!
She does make me laugh xxxx
I managed 1 hours late afternoon sleep after listing a few items, as if I hadn't done enough for the day, before feeding the foxes & completing all the HH bin cleaning tonight, finally having dinner, and I'm now decluttering a very welcomed mug of coffee. I'm already paying with my usual chronic pain but I'm hoping that I'll drop off before I've even hit the pillow after I've finished my coffee for a couple of hours before I have to get up an move again
Wishing everyone a lovely peaceful night & hugs to all those who would like them xxxxx~ NSD 2025 - NSD July 18/20 (6 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - Ongoing~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1234.34 / £2025 (58%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £13,429.74 / £12,000 💯 - Continuing18 -
Hi, gosh Mrs SD, Mr SD's ailment could be very tricky indeed. xx
Reg n bue, we need to hear all about your trip to Japan, please.
Cranky, I still only wear good underwear! You never know!
Brie, That is a difficult topic to tackle with your friend, and such a shame when he has lived there so long. It might instigate the fresh start he would like in the end. Best of luck to him.
Liverpool Anne, I do think in a way your OH has the right attitude. Don't let it spoil life now as it may / may not in the future. I was like that with a cancer diagnosis. It did subliminally inspire me to get my house in order so to speak and kick started my de clutter. I just thought, whatever the outcome, it would only make things easier for everyone. When it has properly sunk in with your OH it may have the same effect. they will be flinging stuff left, right and centre! xxx
Queen Jess I think you can forgive colouring pencils for the children. They will get hours of use out of them and you saved them from going in the bin.
We went to view the house. If we sell ours ( it's live right now) We will go for it. Kitchen and bathroom not our taste but new and perfectly serviceable. It's not my dream house but it has a sunnier garden than I have now. As Mr V says. a stepping stone towards Shady Pines. What he means is towards our final home. A young girl showed us round. I don't think she was used to someone being as decisive as I am. I don't buy with my heart. I always buy a house which will be easy to re sell. It's stood me in good stead for many years and many houses. Worst house on the best street. You can change the property but not it's location.
I have been batch cooking tonight, sewing up the latest baby jumper and mending DS's rugby training joggers. He tells me it's 3 years since I mended them last time. I must say my sewing isn't as neat for this fix. He and baby V are visiting tomorrow, DIL is having a day resting. At the moment she still hasn't successfully eaten anything since last Monday. She can now drink without vomiting. She does say she is feeling better which is good.
Take care all Vx:18 -
@Blue_Doggy - housework done right can kill you. Be careful there with mattresses. They are the worst.
@CRANKY40 - not only did my mother in America say the same - so did her mother. Maybe they were saying the same thing in the 1600 when my family came across the sea. Nowadays, my thing is, "Can you live for three days in whatever you are wearing". Not comfortable enough, loose enough , strong enough - forget it. I've had too many emergencies to buy clothes I can't live in for several days if necessary. If it wrinkles or is too crinkly or not soft enough - out it goes.20 -
- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
So much for coming back 🙊 I ended up watching all the Channel 4 Crufts programmes followed by Law & Order SVU. Although I did have a break to cook dinner - fish in batter, oven chips & peas. Wudupa
450 - 451 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans - recycled
452 Kitchen detritus binned
Excellent decluttering CRANKY40 especially the clothing 👏 Eight inches is a lot of hair to declutter 🤩
Willowtree222, I will keep my fingers crossed that sales pick up 🤞
Liverpool_Anne, excellent work tackling so many phone calls 👏 but especially impressed that you persevered with the pension thing 😊 I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ Sorry to hear about your OH 😔 I will keep everything crossed that there will be no treatment required 🤞Re the mice, all the bird food is stored in critter proof containers but there are spillages when DH fills the bird feeders 😉 However, we are more than happy to have mice in the garden as it means we don’t have rats 🥳 The mice live in the compost bins & quite often DH catches a glimpse of them when he is adding food scraps. Lovely cheerleading as usual ☺️
Excellent decluttering retiredinfrance 👏
Lovely cheerleading vulpix ☺️ Hopefully you managed to have a short nap on Thursday afternoon after signing the Estate Agent documents 🤞Hope Fomo is OK & the early wake up call was just a one off 🤞Very pleased to hear that your DIL is now home 🥹
Just noticed the time so I am off to bed 😉 Sleep tight 😴

Morning All, I have 18 pages to catch up on!
Had a lovely week of winter sun in Half term. Proper week of doing nothing, except being on holiday was amazing. First week back at work busy so house taken a back seat. Lots of ironing of holiday clothes today to pack away.
Still selling things on vinted and will hopefully find some more to upload today
More things are going out than coming in which is the right direction. I just keep forgetting to count things.17 -
Good morning declutteri
and what a lovely bright morning Declutter a lovely large mug of coffee, as usual whilst catching up on MSE
@ QueenJess - I certainly wouldn't be concerned over 130 colouring pencils that will get hours of use & pleasure which have been saved from landfillCount it as 1 batch item in, if you have to
@ @CRANKY40 I'm also one of those who was taught to always wear decent underwear, just in case! I do, like others, but I also go through undies twice a year to dispose of any that maybe heading towards their sell by date. I tend to wear the same batch of undies after washing leaving unused items ready for use, which I keep seperated from 'in use undies' in a draw divider / organiser so I know how many new items I have and when I might need to begin thinking about buying any new without guesswork or getting caught out@Duchess2 and @GrannyKate - It's virtually impossible for me to decorate now. I could give it a good try and then be bedbound in hospital with several left side discs out or highly inflammed, so best left aloneI'm not sure what the plan for decluttering is today other than the usual HH bins and general kitchen, bathroom & bedroom surface cleaning / wipe overs, but probably cleaning windowsills, dusting, and a deep clean hoover with Henry, energy permitting. I know I've got to clean the tops of the kitchen cabinates at some point, but not todayThe washing machine is loaded ready for action but I forgot to put the washing on when I was making my first coffee of the morning. Any excuse to have another cup and switch it on then!
Babyface is still snoring away in bed and she piggy snorted contently when I popped into the bedroom to wrap her up in her fleecy light blankets and give her a few snuggly kisses xxxTime for the 2nd coffee and put the washing on. Wishing everyone a super decluttering Saturday xxx

Hi all, well I went back to bed yesterday and didn't wake up until 11 😂 by then it had stopped raining so I got myself organised and headed back out to the garden 😁. I did some more chopping and 2 bags into the garden waste bin. OH had popped to the Drs for a sample pot and came home with coffee so that was that, coffee over the fence with ln and a catch up. OH's dniece sent us a video of their baby toddling along a track when he found a puddle. Typical stomping to make a splash then he promptly laid down in it. Luckily he was dressed appropriately but we laughed so much 😂😂😂. After tea I only did a bit of crochet. This gardening lark is doing nothing for my numbers but is great for my mental health 😁.
I have a load of washing swishing as it is forecast for sun all day today so that will be out on the line as soon as it's finished and I have football this afternoon so probably not much else done today 😁.
@charlies_tribe I think it's great you see your gcs so much. I only knew 1 grandfather and that was only for a short time, all the others were dead before I was born.
@Duchess2 and @GrannyKate I can also relate to finding decorating harder now. I remember the days when I could do a room in a day but it takes much longer now 😂. OH also used to be a whizz with the decorating but can't do it now. We have recently resorted to employing decorators 😁.
@CRANKY40 another one who was told to wear decent underwear in case I had an accident 😁. I wonder where and how this started. There must be a story about it somewhere 😁. I am quite frugal with underwear, (fashion on the ration thread), and have newish for when I am leaving the house but don't worry about it if I am not going out but I have loads so I don't really worry about it too much 😁
Broke off to hang out the washing 😁
@Florenceem please take care of yourself and if you don't improve maybe a visit to the Drs is the answer, hugs
@Yoshimi2025 I am definitely going to have to investigate this recycling thing at boots 😁
@Brie I am sure your friend appreciates what you have done and everything crossed he can be helped.
@Mrs SD I hope the treatment for Mr SD is working, hugs
@Fizz2015 a week in the sun can cure a lot of things, glad you had a nice time 😁
Right off for another cuppa
Hugs to everyone who would like one
295 & 296 garden waste
Take care everyone
