WOW! It's been a hive of activity in here today xxxx Well done everyone with all the great efforts@ Brie - Your Tulips have already folowered for the year or just died off? Interested as mine are half way up but nowhere near blossoming yet. daffs are coming up, and snowdrops and crocuses are up and flowering away. First signs of the approach of SpringEarly start today at 4am with medication, coffee, and decluttering 4 parcels at the RM Quad Locker when walking babyface @ 4.30am
I wouldn't be around for postie collection today as I was collecting gorgeous Gorda daxie
All went exceedingly well and it was love at first sightShe's settled in as if she's lived here all her life and has all the typical daxie demanding traits and boy, is she intelligent!
Queen babyface and Super Queen Gorda
I arrived back home, had a cup of coffee, took babyface for another walk and then we snuggled up in bed as I was exhausted. I woke up at 6pm to sort babyface out and for medication, food, and coffee before emptying the HH bins, clearing up, feeding the foxes along with a batch of fresh eggs; as it's that time, and made up a fresh food batch for the female swan and put it over the temp fencing next to the nest as she's not moved all day, so I'm assuming she's started laying - Will have a good check tomorrow in daylightJust had a lovely relaxing shower and washed one of babyface's thick fleeces which is on the airer drying. Now decluttering another cup of coffee and cluttering up on medication before I'm off to strip the bed, make it up, and load the washing machine ready for washing tomorrow morning. It's going to be another nice sunny day tomorrow so hopefully the washing will go out in the fresh airNo parcels to declutter tomorrow, which I'm happy about, so off back to bed as soon as I've freshened it upWishing everyone a lovely peaceful evening - hugs to all xxxx~ NSD 2025 - NSD July 23/20 (6 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - Ongoing~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1634.34 / £2025 (58%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £13,429.74 / £12,000 💯 - Continuing17 -
@Dizzycap
my grown tulips haven't flowered yet. Those few in the garden (4? ongoing for 7+ years) are about 4 inches high as are the ones I have in a pot outside the lounge door. There's a few more in another pot about 2 inches up. Not sure why the squirrels haven't eaten the lot.

@ Brie - Now I understand
Yes, all mine are about the same.3-4 inches high in the garden and around 4-5 inches in tubs. I was given a large bag full of mainly tulip bulbs last year which I decided to plant in all my front facing borders in the back garden in early November, along with around 10 large tubs which I prepared in mid November last year.
Decluttering - Err sort of.....All the bedsheets etc are washing away ready to be put out on the line as soon as they're done.Babyface thundered down the hallway, had a drink, went to the loo, looked to see if there were any parcels on the hallway chair, which there aren't, decided we weren't going out for a walk to post anythingand is now wrapped up in her snuggly fleece snoring her head off
I've cluttered up with a welcomed 2 pints of water and now decluttering a large cup of coffee while I'm working through some paperwork binning, filing, and organising, deleting emails and texts, and giving all the tech a good clean out with updates, if needed. I'm typing this post while working through decluttering tasks, so it'll probably take me an hour to postWashing finished and out on the lineNow I need to declutter another cup of coffee and start cluttering up on medication before I either head back to bed for a couple of hours or take some pictures of items ready to declutter list during the day - decisions, decisions

👋 hi everyone. Dipping toes back into MSE waters. Starting with decluttering as DS1 now lives in work accommodation, DS2 considering moving out with girlfriend (only yesterday he was my baby!), possibility that my mum may need to move in as energy costs are starting to mean she can’t live in her own home. All this means that things have to go to possibly make space but more to gain peace of mind. I know how quickly these threads move so rather than posting daily I thought I’d do my bit and post weekly!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.18 -
Morning all - nothing much to report in. I had GCs last night unexpectedly so didn't get started on frogs. I did manage to assemble my 'box' for the storage of garden cushions. I had assistance from Sox who sat in the half assembled box off and on and was most disappointed when the lid went on and he could only sit on top of it. It can go into the shed/utility room today.
It was only when I was reading posts and someone mentioned washing that I remembered that my washing from yesterday morning was still out on the line. It won't have come to any harm out there. Coving was put up in bedroom yesterday - hopefully skirting will be finished today. I bought paint so things are moving along. I also went to make some slight alterations to kitchen plan - not thinking too hard about the cost - it needs to be done. I think decluttering bits of wall and a cupboard will be the first job. Then moving the boiler up a bit - need to revent through roof space then. At the minute it is in a cupboard which stands on the work surface to left of sink which is really awkward. Waiting to hear from the person doing the fencing but I know he has been doing a big patio job.
Right I'd better get those children up and ready for school. Drop off only takes me less than 15 minutes in the mornings now rather than the better part of an hour from where I lived before.
I could do with another tip trip as I have another bag of wallpaper and a large cardboard box to go. There is also a pile of wood bits from the bedroom - old grippers skirting etc - not sure if it will go in new car but I can see - perhaps a bit at a time.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Hi all, a few things done yesterday, kitchen bin and it bin, a session of ironing and 1 LDFPA. I tried to phone the lady about the union thing but no luck so another voice mail left. I had a lovely evening out with ex colleagues, we left when they threw us out 😁. Lots of chatting and laughing 😁. I had a bin bag of plastic in the boot of the car for one friend but she couldn't make it last night, something to do with her son who has bought a grade 1 listed house and the planners, so that has not yet been decluttered 😁. I have a load of washing swishing but it will have to go on the maiden as it is miserable here this morning, so that will be sorted before I have to head out to the funeral.
@Vulpix yes the online doctors thing can be a faff, they say " just do it online " but sometimes I think it's quicker to just drive to the surgery and do it in person, unfortunately my surgery doesn't like you to do it that way any more. My dmum would never have been able to do it. Same thing with cheques, my bank now have signs saying you can pay in cheques via the app. I am sure a lot of people are happy to do this but judging by the queues whenever I go to the bank there are still a lot who want to bank in person. The back is still tricky 😐 but I am taking ibuprofen so keeping everything crossed it is improving slowly 😁
@Yoshimi2025 welcome aboard 😁. Mrs SD is a fantastic cheerleader 😁. I used to have a stack of boxes but it was so ridiculous I have recycled most of them. I have kept a few of the type that store flat that you would have to buy from the post office. My main problem is OH loves to order things online so boxes keep arriving 😂. If I can I snaffle them straight into the recycling 😂 though I do have a stash of padded envelopes 😂.
@Brie I also have a stash of recycled gift bags that never seem to get any less 😂. I don't know how bag makers keep going if we are all passing them on, I can't remember the last time I had to actually buy a gift bag 😂 but how lucky are we to have a continual supply to top up our stash 😁. My main problem is pretty tins and now people know I like them I get given gifts in tins as well 😂.
@Muddy_Walker I think we were all cats in a previous life 😂😂😂
@esmf73 welcome aboard 😁 looking forward to following your journey
@GrannyKate well done on assembling the storage box 😁 and good luck with the kitchen alterations.
Right I need to get weaving, hugs to anybody who would like one

- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
This is yesterday’s post 😉
Monday: A very lazy afternoon for me although I did complete my weekly puzzles entry form & tidied the coffee table that my DSis uses; DSis sorted out her tablets for the week & DH phoned his DSis (he usually phones on Saturday), filled the bird feeders, washed the rear window of the car & went for a walk. It rained on & off most of the afternoon & evening. I made a full roast dinner: slow cooked beef, roast potatoes, parsnips & carrots, green beans, cabbage, Yorkshire puddings & hm gravy. Wudupa

I gave up on taking pictures for listings and went back to bed and idn't wake up again until 7.30am, so I obviously needed to sleep as I was watching the GB Sewing Bee which had moved on 6 episodes by the time I woke upI've been cluttering up on essential food health shopping for the swans and babyfaces. Gorda has totally settled but I need to sort out a couple of skin issues, so as the sun is out, it's bathtime for her with some special shampoo
and then cream. I've also taken chicken out of her diet immediately, as she has classic signs of intolerance
She'll be on the mend starting in the next hour and no doubt will be demanding a big poultry free breakfast before she starts sunbathing
Babyface and Gorda Daxie have taken to eachother with absolutely no problems, so I'm thrilled and delighted for them both2 unwanted Daxie babyfaces who are now living a full rich life and want for absolutely nothing
**The Last, shall be First and the First, Shall be LastSold a decluttered item this morning which I will be decluttering out of the house later when I take the 2 babyfaces for their walkThe washing is almost dry so will be cluttering it in after Gordas bath, but for now I'm cluttering up on a super fresh large cup of coffee whilst sitting in the sunshine - LOVELY!

Managed to get rid of my green wheelie bin and 3 black recycling boxes I inherited in the house move using Freecycle, Recycled 5 empties for £5 worth of points at boots, stocked up on vitamins to activate the points so that’s now £17.27 in points on my card, I’ve got another 5 to recycle tomorrow.Chopped up a cauliflower that was in the turn and put it in the compost bins.So that takes my total to 2025/1969.
Off to watch Bridget Jones this afternoon, looking forward to a giggle.
Also managed to rehome all my olio collection yesterday, kept some grapes, it’s always dicey if you’ll get rid of it all.Managed to bring home a Zara coat from the charity shop for £22, was still tagged at £89! I’d been hanging my nose over similar ones for month but I’m in a no buying brand new for 2025 and never thought I’d see one of these out in the wild so feeling super smug 😏Decluttering Challenge 2025/1483

Hi Yoshimi2025 and welcome. I love a good box, I never have the right box for what I need and end up buying one! It hurts to recycle a "good" box though. I save padded envelopes too, I give them to the church shop for their ebay sales. We have just had a new telly. The box has gone in the loft. useful for when we next move house.
I had a thing for tins too. I recycled them all, I actually needed one last week when I wanted to take baking to my sons house. I took them in the tins they were cooked in with foil on top!
Hi esmf73, welcome aboard.
Muddywe all seem to have been cats in previous lives!
I have had a txt from the GP offering me a telephone appointment with a nurse on 10th March.Exactly why I have been putting off trying to see a GP. I suppose it's a start. If you go in the Doctors surgery it's like the Marie Celeste. You have to try and get someones attention in a back office. I actually changed to this surgery because it is a massive improvement on my old one! At least if you can get to see a human at this practice they are pleasant.
I bought some daffodils with our shopping. I can't find my usual daffodil vase. It hasn't been broken, it's not as if the house is so huge that it could be lost. It's a mystery. There is one corner cupboard so skilfully packed with Christmas and Easter things and stuff rarely used where it might be. Can't face it. Daffs in a jug.
Dropped the big jumper off at the chazzer and bought another jumper whilst I was there. Not tried it on yet. For rags, a pair of boxers with straying elastic and holy socks. Mail redirected, again. Still getting bank statements for the person we bought the house off, must be 12 or 13 years ago. I have been sending them back to the sender for all this time, I have even told his family member to tell the guy. It might be time to start throwing them away.
Did loadsa batch cooking last night. Will box it up for the freezer and box some up for Mum. She doesn't get much in the way of a home cooked meal and is always appreciative of my meals on wheels.
Gotta get a wriggle on, my hairdresser is coming to the house shortly and then it's craft club.
