I saw that a man in Brighton saw a sparrowhawk in his garden recently.
I have my meditation class today and then cranio-sacral therapy afterwards. I am supposed to be deep cleaning the kitchen windows and blinds today, but I will see how tired I am after the therapy. I watched a video on YT to see what was involved and one woman said she felt refreshed afterwards so it might be the opposite to what I'm expecting.
I need to pick up a blood test form as I realised I didn't have my birthday review test last year. I also have to look for a dress for the afternoon tea. I walk past lots of charity shops on the way to the class and back so hopefully I will find something suitable.

Hi @sqwiffy. Thank you so much for your kind offer of help with receiving the wool from @basketcase. The post office class the Isle of Wight as mainland and will not charge any more for postage so we should be OK direct .
I agree sometimes big companies occasionally put an extortionate price on delivery to the Island. Mainly furniture etc. It never seems to make sense. We had a planter delivered to my daughter in Winchester once because they wanted more for delivery to us than the item cost itself but had a huge summerhouse delivered from Nottingham for free. 🤷. There is no rhyme or reason to it. Thanks again for thinking of us @sqwiffyVery thoughtfulcraft stash 2023 =161, 2024 = 119 2025 = £17.98 spent, 128 made and 5 mended,

sqwiffy said:Quick post as it's already gone midnight and I didn't sleep well last night as I couldn't turn the TV off !! More about that tomorrow. Just wanted to mention that I live near to @soontobeoap. I can't remember who was offering the wool but I know that sometimes deliveries to the IOW can be more expensive. If it's cheaper to send to the mainland, I'm just across the sea and I have a DN who lives in Arreton and is back and forth, so if you wanted to send it me, I think we could arrange a collection somewhere between us. If any good, PM me for my address.
Once again, thanks for your very kind offer.
OTOH, if I ever want to send a planter... 🤣A budget is like a speed sign - a LIMIT not a TARGET!!

Hi all,
Quick post as I have an appointment with the podiatrist 😁. Reasonable day yesterday once I got going 😁. Mini sort out in the fridge door, 2 ood sauce things OH had saved binned while waiting for the kettle to boil. Pjs sorted and spares put in a small suitcase that was sitting on the top shelf of the wardrobe nearly empty 😁. The much smaller pile that was in the suitcase is now waiting to be sorted 😁. The kitchen recycling, bedroom recycling and bedroom bin emptied. Small sm trip for fat balls for the birds and the few things I couldn't get at ald1. OH came as well to get Easter things to post to Australia and Germany. OH then went to another sm hunting for turmeric, we seem to have a shortage in this area as none there either and I used our last in the curry 😑, but did come home with 2 bottles of shampoo, we have a bottle under the bathroom sink, and a bottle of hand wash, we have 2 bottles under the kitchen sink 🙄, they will get used eventually at least and I will continue the training on sticking to the list 😂. I also fitted in 3 sessions of ironing 😁. Discovered a few bits that need mending so will try to get them sorted today but annoyingly a couple of t shirts are starting to fray on the collar and I am not sure how to fix them but probably worth a try as they are nice thick cotton and otherwise very wearable. I find some of the newer t shirts I have are not as well made and much thinner cotton. In the pj draw I also found 4 pairs of gloves, a bottle of perfume and a bar of fancy soap 😂. These have been put where they should be. I did debate on the gloves but they are all different sorts of gloves and I will use them for different occasions, i.e. thin black gloves for funerals etc.
@Brie I think it might depend on how the recycling is sorted. Our council use a one wheelie bin system for paper, cardboard, tins, glass and bottle shaped plastics only. It is all taken to a recycling centre where they use a big conveyer and a combination of blasts of air, magnets and scanners to separate everything so open tins don't get left around for wildlife to get stuck in, in theory anyway. I assume that if the bottles and tins are squashed they don't get recognised by the scanners etc. It seems to work but I do get annoyed that they don't take other plastics such as yoghurt pots etc, those I collect in a bin bag and take to the tip where they have a hard plastic skip and a soft plastic recycling point 😁. Our recycling bins are emptied every 2 weeks and are usually quite full. I heard recently that they are looking at moving to monthly collections in the Bristol area 🤐. I could cope with that for general rubbish but not the recycling so I am quite glad I don't live in Bristol 😁.
@CRANKY40 yes I imagine it is easier if you have someone who can build storage for you 😂 but I find a lot of the US based videos have much bigger spaces, basements etc than I have in my 1930"s semi and no matter how much storage I had it still wouldn't fit, I just have too much stuff 😂😂😂.
@-taff 3 hoovers fitted under the stairs 😁 that's good going 😁
@Mrs SD I quite often see sparrow hawks and kestrels when driving along the local motorway which has farmland around it but I have never been lucky enough to see them in the garden 😁
@Florenceem please take care of yourself, no wonder you are feeling like you are getting a cold, you must be exhausted, big hugs
Right better get weaving, hope the yarn deliveries go well, I have been following all the suggestions of how to get it from Aberdeen to Derbyshire and the iow 😁,
Hugs to everyone who would like one
180 ood stuff from the fridge
181 kitchen recycling

Hello lovely people, Thank you all for your good wishes. I am staying in bed today, my eye and face have caught up with events and are starting to ache. I am also starting with a cold. I think I have been running on adrenaline and now I have relaxed it is all showing up. I will tell you what I don't like! My eyelid has drooped, not impressed with that at all.
LiverpoolAnne, my stairs were death stairs before I had a vision problem,I have a little bit of vision at the bottom of my eye but tbh it makes things worse as it is either double vision or stepped like I am zooming into a magic eye picture. It's early days, I will get used to it. We need to make a meet up happen. No driving for me for a bit but I can always hire Mr V's taxi.
Hawk like birds. I always see one or one of his relatives because I have seen it for years on the way to Buxton I love how they just hover and then drop like a stone when they see prey. My son tells me that breeding pairs of type I have forgotten have been introduced on the M40, M4 corridor and they are doing very well.
I decluttered a big frog yesterday and rang and sorted out a pension. I am also reading the books my son gives me to read. It's like homework, he is an ex English teacher. Actually I am reading things I would probably never have chosen myself. On the whole I have enjoyed them with the exception of The wasp factory.
I am still knitting . I am now in possession of the almost finished jumper that I left in Oxfordshire. If I got my finger out it technically could be finished today, but another baby jumper is calling me.
Mr V is on the way out to take some chocolates to the optician. Mr V made me go when I thought I just had something in my eye and it was he who examined me and sent me to hospital. I promise I will stop talking about it now.
Happy decluttering Vx

Same here @Liverpool_Anne. We downsized from a 5 bed 5 storey Victorian house to a 3 bed terraced after I was widowed. My kitchen in the other house was bigger than the whole of the downstairs here. I decluttered heaps of stuff before we moved but we still filled this house.
This morning I cleared and rearranged the things that I'm keeping in the bottom of the pantry. A few chuck outs but not many, some food to our local foodbank (already dropped it off), some added to the charity shop pile and some put away for my sister who is coming over with her car in June so can take more than she would if she was flying. A total of 50 items decluttered so I'm pleased with that.23
