Welcome aboard the EDT I_Love_comps 👋 Lovely to meet you & I really like your name 😊 Sorry to hear that your mother is in a nursing home 😔 You are probably aware how much we like cat (any pet really 😉) photos so it would be lovely to see a pic 🤞It sounds like you already have some great practices in place but just need a little spare time from RL issues to make a concerted effort 🤞Although I must say that I am exceedingly impressed that you have only one item in the loft 🤩 Keeping everything crossed that you can get the ‘big frog paperwork’ sorted out 🤞 Good luck 🍀
Excellent decluttering mehefin 👏 I love your motto “I don't count - just do.” 😊 Of course this means that I can be rather remiss in making awards 😉 so I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ to acknowledge how much you have already done 👏 Good luck with the ‘muckheap’ 🍀
basketcase, what a lovely offer ☺️ & I see from skim reading ahead there are at least a couple of our Declutterati family who would love to help you declutter 😅

Excellent work decluttering the cleaning jobs Wednesday2000 👏 I looked at the Flylady thread once & agree that it is definitely very involved + I have the disadvantage of being rather lazy 😂
Lovely post Deni_debt-free_dreamer 😊 Your mention of SYLO has reminded me that a NEW Series is starting on Tuesday 11th February 8.00 p.m. 🥳 I like your 2025 Challenge “to put things away AT ONCE!” 🙂 words to live by 👏

Brie - Mr F took care of the recycling here - always squashed cans and milk bottles etc. Another job for me now.
I had an easy afternoon yesterday - needed to as I had two severe dizzy spells.
Today I was up before 6.30 - going to bed early and we are sleeping well. So far Mr F hasn't needed to get up for the bathroom during the night.
I took a trolley and bag full of stuff to the charity shop this morning. As usual - when you want to be out for a short time - you meet people you know. I first saw C's wife who asked after Mr F. Then I saw a retired minister's wife who insisted upon giving me her phone number in case she could help in any way.
I dashed back home and we had a tea break.
I wrapped the slippers that need to be returned and got stuff ready for the charity shop.
Again - while trying to not leave Mr F for too long - I met friends. One friend - I have known for 63 years - she was off loading about her husband - 11 years older than her and sounding quite hard work. I dropped off the stuff at the charity shop.
Then I met another friend who looked after her husband before he passed so she could understand what it is like being a carer.
I had to queue in the post office and popped in Save..When I got to the harbour I didn't have to wait for a bus.
No phone calls today - so far from nurses/OT/Physios.
I have done 9k steps today .

Liverpool_Anne said:@Brie interestingly our council has specifically asked for plastic bottles and tins not to be flattened, must be something to do with the sorting machines 😁
Well I got totally distracted watching the squirrel trying and finally succeeding in getting to the fat ball holder 😂 so funny to watch and I don't mind the raid as I think if s/he is eating here it will leave food elsewhere for the birds 😁
wildlife can be quite entertaining. I keep hearing an owl hooting very near our house at about 4am most mornings. I expect it's immediately above my head on the roof when I'm looking out the window. I've only spotted one very close on another portion of our roof about 4 years back and some on neighbours' houses a few other times.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. Hellooooooooo
Right I’ve had a word with myself and hauled my very unsexy big knickers up!!!!! I’ve done so well taking everything in my stride but this just threw me completely. I wallowed yesterday in self pity and today forced myself out of bed into the shower - felt heaps better and probably smelt a lot better too!!!
The NHS advise I looked up says to take gentle exercise and build it up and when resting to raise the affected leg to hip level. Well I can’t see that happening 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Hubby will come home from work and find me in a heap on the floor….
Today I have decluttered:
71-72 pants that no longer fit
73 general bathroom rubbish
74-77 UU bathroom beauty products….
I also did 10 mins ironing and am about to tackle some admin…..leg firmly NOT at hip level cos I can’t get it on the desk.
Thank you all so much for your support xxxxx⭐️⭐️⭐️🥇🥇🥇 2024 decluttering

DH is just heading out on the motorbike as it hasn’t been ridden for a while & will do a small shop.
A ‘blanket’ thank you to all our kind & caring Declutterati family for their support of vulpix & their continuing support of Florenceem🥹
Lovely welcoming post 2Scratters 😊 & some great ideas for Iloveyoutoo 👏
Soontobeoap, fingers crossed that you will soon be helping basketcase in her mission to declutter her stash of yarn 🤞😉
Excellent work using up newly bought material immediately daisy_1571 👏 Now that you are back in the swing of sewing hopefully you will find it easier to declutter your other sewing projects - Good luck 🍀 A real pity about the ‘double swipe’ when buying the flannelette shirt - you will just have to make sure that it lasts twice as long 😉
MadamMim2013, sounds like you have had an absolutely wonderful time 😊 Of course, now that you have crossed off a few places to visit from your Bucket list you will have to add a few more 😂 No need to ‘confess’ 😉 it would be a real sin if you had visited Hay-on-Wye & not bought any books 😊 Although it does sound like you have more than balanced the Ins with the Outs 👏 This “… DS1 completed his Tudor Corner Lego set while we were away, ………... There isn’t a room in the house that doesn’t have some sort of Lego item in it.. 🤣 He even sorted his room and purchased a new unit so things could be shuffled, cleaned and displayed better. I do love his sets.. enjoy moving the figures about to see if he notices 🤣 they bring us all happiness in our own way.. ☺️” specifically that last comment almost made me fall off the sofa 🤣 Lovely supportive post for our poorlies & our newbies 🥹 Good luck with your lists 🍀 Best wishes to your OH for a speedy recovery once he is back home after his surgery 🙏 I was just about quick enough to get some lemon posset & sample a Jammie duffin 🤤
Lovely post Florenceem finding time to support others when you are having such a tough time 🥹 It sounds like MrF is slowly improving 🙏 Hopefully the nurse will be able to arrange a more suitable stool & will sort out the issue with MrF’s heel 🤞What a stupendous amount of Decluttering 🥳👏🥳 A Gold Star ⭐️ is on its way 🤩
florianatwobob, I love your first way of telling that spring is in the air “all the cobwebs have come out of hiding” 😂 Talk about ‘green fingered’ your praying plant sounds marvellous 🤩

Just as I posted my previous post DH arrived home. The bits of shopping have been put away & I have eaten the warm sausage roll that he treated me to 😊
Wednesday2000, thanks for sharing the information about a housework system 👏 I do really need one & as you say it sounds like “it should be doable” 😊
Excellent decluttering Floss 👏 ”Pink rhubarb” I am drooling 🤤
tiddles, Velcro slippers sound perfect 👏

Deni_debt-free_dreamer, now that is what I call a lovely visit - not only did you have the joy of seeing DD1 & DD2 but also the pleasure of a successful decluttering session 👏😊
basketcase, no need to be embarrassed 😊 How very genteel “…… delicately dabbing lemon flavoured crumbs with a damask napkin.” I see you are practicing for when I finally sort out the Orient Express type trip 😊 Hmm, love your idea of “being fairly quiet on the decluttering front” 🤔 Especially impressed with the decluttering of leftovers, pantry & freezer contents 👏 Very useful in reaching your NSDs target 😊
Another page caught up & just in time to make myself another hot drink & have a wee rest 😉

Good evening,
I've been a bit lax in posting - I was doing housework on Saturday and yesterday I had an easy day doing very little to destress myself after a week that definitely wasn't one of our better ones. I did carry on with the decluttering though. The scores on the doors are 15 items for Saturday, 10 items for Sunday and another 10 items for today. The "outs" today were all the black bags and other items (broken plastic wash baskets etc) that needed to go to the tip. I was going to wait until tomorrow but grocery shopping didn't take long so I did the tip run today.
We've had 2 general waste bin collections in the last 8 weeks so I went round the house and emptied all of the smaller bins into black bags and took that rubbish with me too.
I watch Clutterbug on youtube for decluttering/tidying stuff and for entertainment purposes too. It's definitely easier to be tidy if you have a handy husband who will build shelves, cupboards and units for you but some of the videos are helpful.
Hugs for Florenceem, Muddy_Walker, Vulpix, weenancy and anyone else that needs one.
Take care all of you 😊15 -
No calls from medical folk but the pharmacy phoned - what flavour drinks did Mr F want? I haven't been able to weigh him as he can't stand without support so don't know if he needs the protein drinks.
I have stuff ready for the charity shop tomorrow.
Washing and ironing decluttered today.
