Vulpix, sorry to hear your medical news, how completely carp...fingers crosse for the firing up to continue..Florence, don't forget to get on their cases if you need something before they forget all about you both.Muddy, when you're ill, you're ill, don't feel guilty, sometimes you can't just bull your way through with positivity, sometimes yu need a good old wallow. And bed rest, so rest!Sqwiffy, sorry about your pet, they do worm their way in don't they?I would recommend Dana K White, decluttering at the speed of life book. I re read it sometimes when I need to straighten my head up...I've been doing under the stairs, took all the boarding off because I thought it had asbestos in it, turns out, it probably does, so I re boarded it out again, painted it, put a couple of new shelves up and today finally sorted everything to go back in. In the process, I've got about twenty spanners, some screwdrivers, hinges, and various other bits and pieces to go, along with a lot fo screws to the metal bin to the tip. I have to book a tip run before long too. But much less went back in than came out so there's room for all three hoovers now [ Iknow!] but one the OH bought, it's far too heavy for me, so I got a handheld which is good, but also a little Henry because it can pick up anything and has been brilliant. Will be talking to OH about the heavy one because he doesn't use it either...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi14

Brie said:vulpix said:regbbue, thank you for sharing. It is something that can be adjusted to fortunately. Typing for one! No more sly people watching on my left hand side for me. I will have to turn my head for a full gawp!
Brie, when I had all the family at home, I used to put our bin out late at night for 7am empty and share out our excess into other peoples bins! Only really a thing if all the bins have to congregate in one spot like ours did.
Gordon Bennet I pressed post instead of save!Is it possible for you to temporarily put recycled stuff into black bin liners, tie up gently (so you can reuse the bags) and put outside upside down (to protect from rain) next to your recycling bin until Thursday night? That's what I sometimes have to doBusy day of little bed rest, except for a 2 hour sleep this afternoon:Emptied all the HH rubbish bins twice today with another emptying of the recycling small bins into a recycling bag ready to put out before I go to bed along with the kitchen bin rubbish - I like to spray and wipe all the surfaces, draining board, sink and the bin (using kitchen roll) and get a fresh bin liner ready. I dislike waking up to a dirty disorganised kitchenI managed to declutter 9 parcels off to the postie today - 2 large black bin liners fullJust decluttered another parcel at the inpost locker when I took baby-face for her evening walk. She does love a walk around all the inpost lockers and village before heading home for kisses, cuddles and snuggles
On a cluttering note:My local charity shop manager friend asked if I could help with collecting unwanted items connected with Rememberance Day as its the 80th Anniversary this year and she wants to do a fab window display. Needless to say I sent a couple of texts and message out to friends and relatives (fatal) and have collected 3 large parcels this evening full of lovely gorgeous donated RD items, including a fabulous pair of white poppy curtains
, which are cluttering up the hallway
and will have to be decluttered first thing tomorrow
As for the 3 large piles of sorted items on the bedroom floor, the dolly trolly has been loaded as much as it can be, will have 2 runs to the charity shop tomorrow. The other 2 piles are items I've listed which I've sold a few and hopefully more to follow, but I've now managed to orangise the piles into the mega wardrobe so there's no visible clutterIf I sell anything tonight / tomorrow morning, I'll have to clutter the spare bedroom floor with any parcels as the hallway is full - It looks like I'm moving out at the moment
I've managed to declutter loads of homemade soup today which is very positive for me at the moment. I've also had 2 sandwiches and hope to snack on some cream crackers & cheese later - I'm sure baby-face will be up for some cheese before we snuggle up for the nightor how ever long I manage to sleep
**Loving all the declutter efforts everyone. It keeps me inspired to finish the mega wardrobe declutter and then get rid of it. Then I'll be totally clutter free of non-daily general clutter and I intend to keep it that way!Off to make a coffee chocolate and yes, you read that right! Coffee with hot chocolate - you've have just got to try it!Wishing everyone a good night & a happy decluttering day tomorrow, with you all in my thoughts and prayers xxxxx~ NSD 2025 - NSD July 18/20 (6 x💯)# Spectos/Royal Mail Monitoring and Posting Panel - Ongoing~ Totally FREE Christmas 2025 - 🎁✉️🏷🎀💐🪪🗒🧺⭐️Completed Challenges 2025:# No.36 Make £2025 in 2025 £1234.34 / £2025 (58%) (3) 💯💯+# No.12 Save £2 a Day 2025 2025: £730/ £730 💯# No.27 Save 1p A Day 2025 £667.95 / £667.95 💯# No.19 52 Week Env Challenge £1378 / £1378 💯# No.34 Save £12k in 2025 £13,429.74 / £12,000 💯 - Continuing15 -

Vulpix, Muddy I hope you are both looking after yourselves I'm sorry to hear you have both been ill
I volunteered both Friday and Saturday and was out all afternoon yesterday so not a lot of decluttering done over the weekend, I took some books to volunteering on Saturday about half which need to go as I can't carry too many from the car park. All this wool talk made me dig into my stash today, there are 3 or 4 projects waiting, a couple which I started and parked. I've sorted out some wool I won't use and will pop it to a local charity which are always on the look out for it on FB free cycle, if I can't find the lady I will just add it to the other stuff I want to list there. I was gifted a lot of fabric a few months ago from a elderly friend which I've now finally sorted and removed some nice silk fabric (not sure for what yet) the rest which I know will just sit there has joined the pile of stuff to either go on freecycle or the CS. It's nice fabric just not my taste but I'll be discreet in getting rid of it so not to offend.

Quick post as it's already gone midnight and I didn't sleep well last night as I couldn't turn the TV off !! More about that tomorrow. Just wanted to mention that I live near to @soontobeoap. I can't remember who was offering the wool but I know that sometimes deliveries to the IOW can be more expensive. If it's cheaper to send to the mainland, I'm just across the sea and I have a DN who lives in Arreton and is back and forth, so if you wanted to send it me, I think we could arrange a collection somewhere between us. If any good, PM me for my address.
TrialTrying different methods of decluttering..... Random at present but not very organised.19 -

@vulpix , I’m sorry to hear about your health problems, I hope you are managing okay and looking after yourself.
@muddy_walker , I hope you are doing okay too.
@Florenceem, please look after yourself too, you seem to be doing so much.
@i_love_comps, lovely to see you on this thread too.
Mrs SD, it’s interesting that you mention the sparrow hawk and Canary Wharf, keeping Mr Sticky abreast of the group conversation I had mentioned the sparrow hawk and shown him the photo. Mr Sticky returned from an early dinner at Canary Wharf on Saturday and reported he’d seen one!
I’ve managed to get back on the case a bit with the decluttering and on our local freebies site have got rid of children’s clothes, some of DH’s clothes that no longer fit him and some school uniform. Three Christmas Eve boxes that we won’t use next year as I’ve brought more robust plastic ones and Christmas clothes that are going to be too small next year. Seven pouches of cat food that Violet loved but potty cat won’t eat and a cat bed that neither of them liked. This works out at 5 bags.
I’ve taken photos for a load of stuff to go on Vinted and am gradually uploading it. I’m working two days this week but I’m hoping to get enough time to sort through stuff to do a boot sale on Sunday. We need the space and the money!
My new total is 12/104
Love to you all xx

- Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
- Concerted effort to sort out sleep patterns - Realistic targets: bed by 2:00 a.m. & up by 10:00 a.m
- Continue dealing with mail & email on a daily basis
- Don’t put it down, put it away + deal with mini tasks as soon as they are noticed e.g. refill olive oil pourer or salt cellar, stitch up a hole in a garment etc
- Commence ‘Operation Frog Tickling’ using the acronym - I.R.I.S. (Identify, Research, Implement, Sign Off) - One per quarter
- Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
My ‘wee rest’ turned into a long one 🙊 DH scrubbed another bird feeder. Dinner was linguine in a creamy bacon & pea sauce. Wudupa. ERNIE was unkind for the 2nd month in a row 🙁 but kind to DH again 🙂

vulpix sorry to hear that the sight loss in your left eye is permanent 😢 Please get plenty of rest 🙏 Congratulations to your neighbour on knitting another baby jumper 👏 Hopefully she will get around to learning the purl stitch once she understands how many different pattern options this will open up 😉 e.g. stocking stitch & moss stitch 😊
Now, now TC77, I will have none of that ‘wagging finger emoji’ Remember you are also working full time & doing all the decluttering, cleaning & decorating on your own, so please cut yourself some slack 🙏 Not only have you done some excellent decluttering already this year but you are also continuing your ‘No wombling’ 👏
DundeeDoll, good luck with your February challenge 🍀 Success will mean that you declutter 406 items 🤩
Lovely cheerleading sqwiffy 😊 Great work with the cleaning, tidying & decluttering in preparation for receiving your family visitors & it sounds like everyone had a lovely time 😊
Just noticed the time so I am off to bed 🙂 Sleep tight 😴
