Yes, still waiting for £250 sent by SO early hours of Friday 1st to Member RS to show on the account.easysaver said:Skipton BS
Anyone else waiting for their deposits (faster payment from Chase at 01:23 on 1st Aug) from yesterday to show on their account(s)? I've experienced this before and it's irritating to say the least.
What do others do to avoid it? Can I fund my base rate tracker and do internal transfers from there? But won't that payment not get credited on time too? Fundamentally, is Skipton BS just unreliable?
Skipton can be slow but it varies. A few months ago a payment I made to one account (I had two accounts then) hadn't shown by the third business day, while a payment made at the same time to Member RS showed on the day it was made. I phoned them and they confirmed receipt of the non-showing payment which eventually showed up towards the end of the third business day.2 -
I emptied and closed my Virgin RS on morning of 31st and gave an external account for interest due.
I also opened a RS 3 on 1st. No problems.
This morning I see the 10% RS has correctly disappeared but the Everyday Saver has appeared. I would have thought my actions on 31st negated the need for yet another account (which I'll just want to close) being set up.0 -
That's interesting. For those of us with automated payments, unfortunately the standing order leaves in the early hours.Bridlington1 said:

I've found Skipton's systems in general don't seem to like payments into regular savers too early in the day on the first of the month so I usually fund them during business hours.0 -
Skipton BS
Thanks for the replies.
I've never had a payment returned but more than one delayed credit. I'd not thought it was because of early hours payments so I'll try manual mid morning payments in future.
Quite an effort for Skipton to be out-credited by Mon BS🙂0 -
Yes, mine, sent from Bank of Scotland, just before 01:00 on the 1st, still isn't showing - just been on chat with Skipton, and the CSA said that they can't investigate further as the 'payments team' don't work at the weekend, but 'it's likely just a delay on their side', and that it will be credited back to the day sent. This is the first time I've had this problem with Skiptoneasysaver said:Skipton BS

Yes, I'm still waiting for mine to show up. The payment was sent by SO (early hours 1st Aug) with two other building societies, and they showed up 1 hour and 11 hour later.easysaver said:Skipton BS

Last months payment took under 40 minutes when l looked.
It's not as if they are a smaller Building Society either.
Annoying.

I had payments returned by CBS because their system didn't update (on one occasion) until 01:30, so I now do payments to them during the day - looks like I may have to add Skipton to that as well...?0

I had the same problem & phoned them this morning. They eventually found the payment & the reference had been messed up with my name included as well as the Skipton account number. Said they would request it to be allocated manually & might take a couple of days but there would be no loss of interesteasysaver said:Skipton BS

OK thanks. I dont have an 82 account . How can I open one please ?allegro120 said:
You can open RS with 05 and 82, which are identical systems. 08 has different type of products, so you can't have 08 RS.jrh22542254 said:I read somewhere on here that you could open a Virgin RS using the 05 account system, and also open one if you have an 08 account ?
However when I try to do this using 08 , I dont have an option to open the regular saver ?
I have an 05 current account but not a current account starting 08?
Is this the reason ?
You have to have two current accounts with Virgin, one on the 08 system and one on the 05 system?
Thanks.0 -

My SO date has been advanced to 01/09/2025CS say it will 'probably' show on Monday but no one can see that it has happened, or what the statement date is/will be as some team or another doesn't work weekends1
