I've scheduled my deposit to Skipton from Cahoot for 1st August (these are usually processed at around 1-2am) and received e-mail from Skipton confirming the deposit at 7.04 am.Bridlington1 said:
The payments I sent to Skipton yesterday dinner time are showing in my account.easysaver said:Skipton BS
Anyone else waiting for their deposits (faster payment from Chase at 01:23 on 1st Aug) from yesterday to show on their account(s)? I've experienced this before and it's irritating to say the least.
What do others do to avoid it? Can I fund my base rate tracker and do internal transfers from there? But won't that payment not get credited on time too? Fundamentally, is Skipton BS just unreliable?
I've found Skipton's systems in general don't seem to like payments into regular savers too early in the day on the first of the month so I usually fund them during business hours.0 -
I don't know. I've inherited it 82 from Clydesdale as part of merger in 2019, I'm not sure how you can get it now.jrh22542254 said:
OK thanks. I dont have an 82 account . How can I open one please ?allegro120 said:
You can open RS with 05 and 82, which are identical systems. 08 has different type of products, so you can't have 08 RS.jrh22542254 said:I read somewhere on here that you could open a Virgin RS using the 05 account system, and also open one if you have an 08 account ?
However when I try to do this using 08 , I dont have an option to open the regular saver ?
I have an 05 current account but not a current account starting 08?
Is this the reason ?
You have to have two current accounts with Virgin, one on the 08 system and one on the 05 system?

£250 payment to Skipton Mem Reg Saver from Nationwide by Standing order is showing in my account this morning. Didn't check yesterday as normally I have no problems with standing orders.easysaver said:Skipton BS

Also if you've experienced it before it could be to do with the specific links between Chase and Skipton that are the issue. Check your name details match between the two organisations as faster payments uses Confirmation of payee. But even if this is the case any payment sent with faster payments should be credited no later than the next working day.
I've never had issues with Nationwide or Skipton, and I wouldn't call them unreliable.
EDIT: Just want to add to this that any transfers to Skipton Member Regular Savers should be sent as payments to a business account (as per instructions on their website - see here Member Regular Saver). If you have the standing order set up as personal, it may take them some time to figure out where the payment needs to go.0 -
No, but I am still waiting for the maturity funds from my Member RS Issue 3 which matured yesterday.easysaver said:Skipton BS

The Everyday Saver is your renamed RS3 account, not a new account.ccluedo said:I emptied and closed my Virgin RS on morning of 31st and gave an external account for interest due.
I also opened a RS 3 on 1st. No problems.
This morning I see the 10% RS has correctly disappeared but the Everyday Saver has appeared. I would have thought my actions on 31st negated the need for yet another account (which I'll just want to close) being set up.
Virgin have not yet processed your account closure request.2 -
For the first two payments of most RS's I open, I usually make manual payment by internal transfer. I forward a payment worth 2 x monthly amount to an appropriate EA or CA with the Bank/BS holding the RS. I do this just before the 1st payment is required as I like to initially fund most RS's near the end of the month and fund immediately by internal transfer and fund again a day (or so) later on the earliest day possible in the next month. I then set up a SO for the 3rd payment onward from wherever I intend to fund the RS from.easysaver said:Skipton BS

I find internal transfers are usually faster than any other form of payment and often means I can see it has happened either in the same online session as opening the RS, or when doing the internal transfer. Sometimes you have to log out and in again to check the transfer.
There are some RS's that you can't or wouldn't use this strategy with.
YMMV as to how convenient this is in your own circumstances! Works for me

Had been working fine since I got the app on 30 Jul. It just suddenly decided to stop giving me the SMS/email options yesterday. Tried reinstalling the app by selecting new phone, new number, nothing worked.soulsaver said:
No trouble here, just now 12.27am. Tap on sms option. Then tap on it again and it changes to the input box for me - if you get 2 codes, input the later of the 2... and then the 'M' pulses for a min..or 2.DealSeeker11 said:Is anyone having problems logging on via Monbs app? I’m still waiting for 2 automated payments to be credited to 2 separate Skipton regular savers, funds sent from Starling Bank at 1.40am yesterday, 1st August.easysaver said:Skipton BS

Nationwide
About 00.40 today I sent £200 by FP from my current account (Santander) to my Nationwide Flex Account. Once it had arrived (a short while later) I transferred the £200 to the RS. It's what I do every month.

Virgin regular saver issue3 and current account.
This morning, l emptied my virgin current account ( l transferred the lot except for the £250 to fund my new 6.5% RS), and it went without any issues. I've only ever used the virgin current account to fund my 10% regular saver, so was surprised when they let me transfer out.
The old regular saver 10% has now converted to the easy access, hopefully will now be closed after requested online yesterday.
