Anyone else waiting for their deposits (faster payment from Chase at 01:23 on 1st Aug) from yesterday to show on their account(s)? I've experienced this before and it's irritating to say the least.
What do others do to avoid it? Can I fund my base rate tracker and do internal transfers from there? But won't that payment not get credited on time too? Fundamentally, is Skipton BS just unreliable?
Last months payment took under 40 minutes when l looked.
It's not as if they are a smaller Building Society either.
Annoying.

I had payments returned by CBS because their system didn't update (on one occasion) until 01:30, so I now do payments to them during the day - looks like I may have to add Skipton to that as well...?0

However when I try to do this using 08 , I dont have an option to open the regular saver ?
I have an 05 current account but not a current account starting 08?
Is this the reason ?
You have to have two current accounts with Virgin, one on the 08 system and one on the 05 system?

My SO date has been advanced to 01/09/2025CS say it will 'probably' show on Monday but no one can see that it has happened, or what the statement date is/will be as some team or another doesn't work weekends1 -

I've found Skipton's systems in general don't seem to like payments into regular savers too early in the day on the first of the month so I usually fund them during business hours.0 -

Also if you've experienced it before it could be to do with the specific links between Chase and Skipton that are the issue. Check your name details match between the two organisations as faster payments uses Confirmation of payee. But even if this is the case any payment sent with faster payments should be credited no later than the next working day.
I've never had issues with Nationwide or Skipton, and I wouldn't call them unreliable.
EDIT: Just want to add to this that any transfers to Skipton Member Regular Savers should be sent as payments to a business account (as per instructions on their website - see here Member Regular Saver). If you have the standing order set up as personal, it may take them some time to figure out where the payment needs to go.0 -

ccluedo said:I emptied and closed my Virgin RS on morning of 31st and gave an external account for interest due.
I also opened a RS 3 on 1st. No problems.
This morning I see the 10% RS has correctly disappeared but the Everyday Saver has appeared. I would have thought my actions on 31st negated the need for yet another account (which I'll just want to close) being set up.
Virgin have not yet processed your account closure request.2
