Since installing the app 8 days ago I've lost my online access.  The portal doesn't recognise my login details anymore.  I've tried to re-register with no success, the system lets me go through the whole process but collapses at the end.  Has anyone else experienced the same recently?

Yesterday I put my 13th payment into the VirginRS whilst it was still saying 10% interest. This morning its showing as an everyday saver paying 1.74%
My last interest was paid on 30th Jun 25 of £63.82, then before that £43.48 on 31st March 25, then £24.86 on 31 Dec 24, then £5.14 on 30 sept 24. So a total interest of £137.30
My first £250 went in on 13 Aug 24 and then I made 12 further payments circa the 1st week of each month.

What happened to my July interest ?

    Thank you.

You don't get it till the end of Sept. If you want it now you need to close the account.
Thanks. I opened a new regular saver and transferred £250 in from the now everyday saver. Cant see the point of keeping open an account paying 1.74% ?
So will not everyone close the one paying 1.74%?

Tried to close my 05 savings account in app. No go.

    Need to try alternative method.
You can’t close it in the app. You can either phone😳 or use online banking. Select the now Everyday Saver/ account services/ close account. Once you’ve input account details, message says they aim to complete within 2 working days. Presumably some human input so could be longer NB you need to reduce balance to £0 before doing this.

    No idea.
But somewhere in the hundreds of posts on various threads about this recently matured RS a poster was told this by a VM employee.

Because otherwise you will get a message next Tuesday saying "we can only close accounts that have a zero balance, please empty and resubmit request".

Sometimes it's best not to wonder about these things too much.

    Indeed.
One of VM’s many quirks which I’m prepared to accept in return for decent rates.

Virgin RS10% - changed to Everyday Saver overnight. Transferred total balance out to my external account (using app - no problems - instant) and then on to my best EA account.
Why would you not reduce the balance of the ES to 0?
Will close it online later today to release July interest.

I read somewhere on here that you could open a Virgin RS using the 05 account system, and also open one if you have an 08 account ?
However when I try to do this using 08 , I dont have an option to open the regular saver ?
I have an 05 current account but not a current account starting 08?
    Is this the reason ?
You have to have two current accounts with Virgin, one on the 08 system and one on the 05 system?
    Thanks.

Agree its logical to reduce to zero first if Virgin take 2+ days to close your account and also if you dont reduce to zero they ask you to do that after 2+ days further causing you loss of interest! Knowing that now I will reduce to zero! Had I not known I would have closed without reducing to zero expecting my money immediately!
