My West Brom RS has matured and I tried to open another and forgot that it has become branch only. I will not be going anywhere near a branch anytime soon, has anyone found a way around this?
    West Brom RS maturity

Not sure if you're registered for online access, but in any event this might be useful:

    https://www.westbrom.co.uk/savings/easy-access/west-brom-saver

You can open it online and (hopefully) transfer between from the West Brom RS maturity account into the EA, and then withdraw. Failing that, perhaps wait till Monday and phone or ask for a withdrawal to your nominated account via 'live chat'...

... but to open another at maturity, no, still requires a branch visit in person

For those still holding this unlimited-in-time RS, annual interest is due to be credited to accounts today (31st October). Not showing yet, probably tomorrow but dated today.

That's one online access I don't have any more, as when I tried to log in previously texts didn't arrive and I would have been blocked had I kept trying. Not sure if the online system has changed in the past few years though and I could safely re-register?

Not a big deal either way, it's been kept alive with minimum funding (balance tracked on an app from last passbook update) so the interest won't be much and I leave a gap in my spreadsheet and fill in when my passbook has been updated following a withdrawal. I use it to fund occasional purchases that are a bit of a splurge.

I've not had any problems with the online system, not aware of any changes since I registered in August 2022.  I also currently do minimum funding (£25 pcm). Rate is currently an unexciting 4.40% variable. The account is still available to open. It has the advantage of a high monthly deposit limit (£1000).

    Skipton BS withdrawal query
Do Skipton process withdrawals to external accounts on weekends please?
  • Monmouthshire BS

I have 3 Monmouthshire Regular Savers (Issue 8, App Exclusive and "Branch" Exclusive).

I also have a Monmouthshire Instant Saver Issue 4.

Has anyone here tried funding Monmouthshire Regular Savers from the Monmouthshire Instant Saver Issue 4?

Because if they allow it that would simplify my bank transfers this weekend.

It may seem an odd question as to whether internal transfers are allowed, but I have had money returned before from other BS such as Chorley as they don't allow (some of?) their RS to be funded from anything other than the external linked bank account.

    Nope.

They don't even process internal transfers on weekends/non-working days. I think the cut-off for transactions on a working day is 8pm, and anything after that will be processed at the start of business on the next working day.

It’s allowed, I did the regular version to the Exclusive version by internal transfer on occasion in 2023/4 when I was short of funds. The question is rather whether the transfer will fall over, given that anything sent to the Instant Saver today is unlikely to show until Monday in the app, and even later online, given they are slower than average to process. When I funded by internal transfer, my balances were up to date before I started.

Closed my YBS Xmas 2025 RS today as it had reached it's maturity date.

Funds expected by close tomorrow to an external account.
