    Re Scottish BS replies  :)

I had read others saying they had  courtesy call from them, in same way as some people do not like paying for stamps, I am not keen on phoning chargeable phone numbers, I fully expected to receive either account opening details by post or application returned stating needed DL etc.

I will reply to email merely expressing disappointment at delay in opening account  causing me to miss out on topping up to £250 maximum monthly deposit, did not send cheque for £250 as felt plenty of time to receive account details and send £200 faster payments. ( i had actually given up on receiving anything from them)

They may reply saying that the delay has been caused by yourself, due to you waiting 11 days to message them after receiving the missed call.

Do you not have free phone calls included with your mobile or landline contract, like most people?

My Gatehouse Bank Regular Saver Issue 2 matures on 4th November. It has been earning 5.30% variable for a year with a monthly deposit of (up to) £300. There doesn't seem to be a replacement RS account being offered by Gatehouse at the moment when I checked today. Just wondering if anyone knows if a replacement is on the horizon?
My Issue 2 matured on 31st March, Issue 1 on 29th November last year.  There were no replacements since.  I wouldn't play a guess game, just assume that there is nothing on horizon and if Gatehouse comes up with another surprise you will see the announcement followed by 30+ new posts in this thread :)

I will reply to email ... and send £200 faster payments.
Not sure how fast faster payments to Scottish BS accounts are in practice. I opened a Regular Saver with an initial £50 deposit by cheque. There was a delay of my own making for having omitted to include nominated bank details in my application. Anticipating it could come in handy to expedite matters, in the meantime I also opened an e-Saver Plus account online.

Yesterday I received confirmation that the RS was open and sure enough the details had been linked to my online account which already showed the
e-Saver Plus. Late last night I sent a test payment of £1 by faster payments to the RS using the sort code and bank account details of the e-Saver Plus and the account number of the RS, followed at lunch time today by a further FP of £199. As of just now neither of those payments is showing online, so it will be interesting to see if they do end up being credited today, or if I have missed October's boat.

I see there is a discrepancy in their RS accounts t+c's.
Both say, on maturity, it matures into an Easy Access account that permits withdrawals and deposits

interesting, didn't the 30 day RS account mature into a 30 day notice account with no additional deposits permitted?

Either way, I will open this, but will be retaining the t+c's document.

Yes it should do, principality seem to credit accounts automatically, its just down to how fast the 'faster payment' is

For some reason I can't fathom, myself and my wife seem to have missed a payment to the Halifax regular saver. Are we going to be penalised on the interest rate!
