When I asked in branch they said a general rule of thumb is if a payment is received by 2pm on any working day it will appear in the account on the app at 9am the following working daytony_1 said:Anyone find payment into Monmouthshire slow ?(Santander to Monmouthshire)2 -
Good luck with that. I applied to open an account in July. On the 25th July had this reply:TheQuaker said:Sent a cheeky application for the Monmouth Exclusive Branch Reg. Saver yesterday. Expecting it to be rejected as it's just been pulled, but you never know
"Thank you once again for choosing to open an account with Monmouthshire Building Society. What happens next? Our team will now begin to process your savings application. We’ll be as quick as we can and appreciate your patience."
But heard nothing afterwards. Have made an inquiry.. also still awaiting a reply
I know others have had a totally different experience, so don't want them to get all excited.0 -
The app problems at the time are well documented. I've not seen any evidence that any other route has been impacted?alfred64 said:

If you still want the account, reapply.0 -
The account that was launched in July was open to everyone, whereas the August Exclusive launch required that applicants were existing customers. That would make it less likely that checks would be required.alfred64 said:

Also, the text of your email suggested an online application. These were pulled relatively quickly and not reinstated, suggesting that Mon BS were perhaps aware of an issue with applications submitted in this way.1 -

Just me?
I had the same problem about a year ago which I solved by turning off AdBlocker Ultimate. (That extension is actually causing problems for me on several other websites at the moment)

Melton BS have pulled all their savings account applications while they upgrade their system, which is expected to take several weeks.
We’ve been working on some improvements to the way you can access and operate your accounts.
The launch of the new system is imminent, and as a result there will be some short term disruption in the interim period.
From 9am on the 19th September, you will be unable to make any changes to your nominated account.
From 9am on the 26th September, you will be unable to make amendments, withdrawals or transfers, apply notice, or input any instructions.
I guess that means they won't be launching a special account for UK Savers Week this year.0 -
Woah this is crazy - presumably you can still operate in branch/by post/by calling anyone know?WillPS said:Melton BS have pulled all their savings account applications while they upgrade their system, which is expected to take several weeks. We’ve been working on some improvements to the way you can access and operate your accounts.

I trust existing Melton accounts will be able to receive deposits.0

Very poor if that notice was not given prior to 19th September. Anyone with an outdated nominated account that wasn’t switched using the switch service now cannot make any withdrawals until who knows when, given that Royal Mail might struggle to deliver a written request for a cheque plus passbook before the 26th (if Melton will even issue a cheque at this point given that it definitely won’t arrive with the account holder and clear by Friday morning.)WillPS said:Melton BS have pulled all their savings account applications while they upgrade their system, which is expected to take several weeks. We’ve been working on some improvements to the way you can access and operate your accounts.

Building society cheques are drawn from the relevant account when the cheque is issued and placed in a holding account (with a clearing bank) from which the funds are transferred whenever the cheque is presented. It'd be fine.Kim_13 said:
