  • Nobody said UK Savings Week was just about new account offerings. I guess this must be Meltons contribution to the Savings Week.
  • Virgin appear to have pulled their Regular Saver, did I miss this recently or has it just been pulled perhaps for a higher rate Savings Week offering?

interesting, even the same with a new issue number would be ok for nabbing too, remember all those Home Coach issues?

I'm pretty sure all their regular savers have only been offered for 1 calendar month - the 10% one was July 2024, then the subsequent 6.5%ers were May and August this year. Possible another one too earlier on.

    Nationwide BS Flex Regular Saver

My Issue 3 Flex RS has its maturity date today. Interest has been added (£93.46). I have moved the balance plus interest out.  The account is still showing as a Flexible RS which is preventing me opening a new one (now Issue 7). I can't remember what happened last year. Has anyone any recent experience of a Flex RS maturity and can recall when the account changes to an Instant Saver?

Mine matured yesterday and I was able to transfer the balance out, and close the account, yesterday. It wouldn't let me apply for a new RS until this morning - but that was then a one minute job. It couldn't set up an SO yet as the COP isn't working until tomorrow but I was able to fund the new RS with an internal transfer from a Nationwide current account

You have to leave it overnight
That is what I was told earlier this morning by NW CS agent. I asked what would happen if I transferred all of the proceeds (inc interest) while it was still showing as a RS today, to my NW CA and closed the RS online. That's OK if you still have one of your 3 withdrawals available!

It all seems to have gone OK and I then transferred all but £400 out elsewhere from the CA. I'll open a new RS next week, deposit £200 from the CA and another £200 on 1st Oct.

Did you make an extra £200 payment this month, ie total £2600.
I did and only got £93.42.

If it's of interest(!), opened the RS 22/09/2024, funded it 22/09 & 01/10 and then by SO on 01/11 until 01/09/2025, so closing balance was £2693.67.
