Principality 6 month RScheekyweegit said:I'm another with 3 Principality Issue 3 accounts now, Started off with Issue 1 which matured last Month to an Issue 3, with everything being said on here I didn't expect my Issue 2 to be matures into another Issue 3, but I've had confirmation in the post that it's going ahead and should happen on the 10th. I'll wait with baited breath.
My original issue still has 3 months to run so that will be end of September before I know what will happen with that. I quite like the 6 months savings, handy if you are saving up for something in the not to distant future and don't want to commit for too long.
Now this £50 refer a friend one, if only we had a thread for referrals for this and also should I open a Skipton a/c with just £1 in it and wait patiently for their next offer? They seem to be popular and with a good reputations.
PS thanks to all who post in here / the savings board. I've learned so much but could very probably do better.
Next on the list to start looking for is a replacement for my chip ISA when the bonus runs out next month, but boy did the transfer from Zopa to Chip take seemingly for ever (23 days - not all working days).
I have four issue 3 accounts now. Don't know whether it's a loophole or intentional, but £800 p/m at 7.5% is good.
Skipton
It's worth opening an account with £1. I did it when I've missed their first member/loyalty RS. It made me qualified for the next one and once you are in it is very easy to open new accounts with Skipton.
ISAs
Transfers seem to be erratic across the board this financial year. Most of mine failed, some went through and only one was quick (3 working days).

I have multiple principality regular savers, issue 2 and 3. I think it's the maturity optioned ones that are allowed, ie, the application passes their policing algorithm. Their tip to open an easy access and use this to distribute to multiple reg savers is a winner. I ve never had need to contact principality, they ve been very generous with their products and deserve the business they ve picked up.1

Looking to open a Chorley BS account to get a membership incase of a good future account.
All the easy access want £500+ initial deposit.
The Regular Saver needs a minimum £25 and then says "Our Regular Saver allows deposits from £25 to £400 per month. Partial withdrawals are not allowed but you can close the account within the 12 month fixed period."
Does that mean I can open with £25 and then each month has to be at least £25, so I could not put anything else in or is it a minimum of £25 each month?0 -
Their notice accounts allow you to open with £1 so you could open one of these with £1 if you just wanted to keep a foot in the door.ThePirates said:Looking to open a Chorley BS account to get a membership incase of a good future account.

As for the Chorley BS RS you can skip months if you wish so you could just deposit £25 and leave it there.3 -
In fact it is actually possible to make deposits directly into the Santander Regular Saver by usingWillPS said:
First Direct is the only one to enforce payment by standing order/from linked current account AIUI.
Santander and Zopa don't provide BACS details so you can only internally transfer.
HSBC, LBG and maybe some others state that it should/must be but actually don't care how the money gets to them.

Anyone closed the RS before the end of the term? If so, how long from closure was the transaction processed and the funds in your account please? Is it a same day affair, next working day, same working day etc. ThanksIf you want me to definitely see your reply, please tag me @forumuser7 Thank you.

How very strange! I've got 3 x Issue 3 6 month RS and @surreysaver has 4, so something seems to be a miss as Issue 3 is still available. I presume that you tried to set-up the maturity instructions pre-maturity? If so, then then should have been no issue regardless of being completed online or over the telephone??Money_Grabber13579 said:My second principality account has matured and it was also blocked from maturing into a 2nd regular saver account (but not by the same person who was mentioned here previously). My single maturing Issue 1 did not convert to Issue 3 as requested, no messages explaining, it just converted to a maturity saver as if no instructions were sent (it definitely indicated maturity instructions had been received tho).
My wife had an Issue 1 and an Issue 2 which matured this week, and both converted to Issue 3 as requested (giving her a total of 3).0 -
A word of warning with Progressive BS.
If you're wanting to close an account that has matured and then open a new regular saver make sure to empty the account first before applying for the new account.
I made the mistake of trying to open a new regular saver in the hope that I could do a transfer from my matured account to the new account and it asked me to verify my ID, this failed and it has locked my accounts from being visible in online banking.
I'm now unable to close the old account (which has a balance of around £4k sat at a mere 1.8%) until they've verified my ID which I now have to send via email.13 -
