Crazy, you need to change your attitude, you're spending like you're not poor. All these things can wait until you get a job. If you're desperate to spend money, better get yourself on Udemy and find Excel or some bookkeeping "zero to hero" courses that will keep your mind occupied and help you to upskill and become an even better candidate for the job. You really need to prioritise better and stop the excuses. When do you need to start paying your mortgage again?

    Mortgage: £173,700 Sep 22  £159,400 Sep 25

MF Date: Sep 52 Mar 52

Thanks @RedLipstick I know I need to but I also don't have money for food or fuel, all the money I have is for bills so I need the credit card. I am using OPs to pay the mortgage which is still quite healthy. So I just need a lodger and or job, this will happen in time I am just buying time. I know I need to stop using the credit card like it is free money that is for certain, but I still need the CC unless I ask MD to borrow £1700 which I don't want to do and which I may not need to totally. I am needing to use my mind over matter to do this, I literally have £400.14 coming in which is not enough to cover all the bills, so once I get a lodger there is some more freedom and especially if I utilise the larger room there will be an excess of circa £200 if I don't have interest to pay on the CC which can then be used to pay off the CC. It all hinges on tomorrow and whether I can get in the smaller room - sounds daft but I am actually excited with the prospect and the possibility of having excess money each month with having a lodger here.

I like the idea of looking up some courses, I did actually sign up for a course with local college for September actually two courses to help get into payroll as an extension to my AAT accounts certificates. I will look up Udemy to see if there is anything that can help there too thanks for the idea.

Now the table is up and I think I will be okay working from it, it is smaller which is to be expected owed to lack of space in the smaller room but it will fit the computer and a chair fits comfortably underneath it, so all good, it will be even better when there is a weight on it as it is quite lightweight. Gosh it took a bit of putting together 20 screws all very tight, arm ache!

I have stopped spending on home furnishings now it is just snacks that I am still buying, I did find when I had something to do like make a cake and then snack on it I didn't go out so often to buy snacks. Sadly I did buy lunch out today while I was getting fuel I did visualise myself not spending on snacks and just fuel, but in the end my naughty side won, I wasn't even that keen tbh. I think I am done with snacks, I certainly need a few days off of snack buying. I have a shop coming next week I will make sure there is some cake making things with what I get within the budget.

The house is a bit grungey today, well the floor and where I have been is, however I am waiting to do a thorough clean tomorrow after the carpenter has been, Like chievely said I will probably need to do some painting, touch up work to get a good finish before moving into the room, so it will porbably be Tuesday before I can move in...lets see? I will take photos - ooh that reminds me I better go and do a before shot.XX

The Carpenter is still working away, so far I am impressed with what he has done, I can't wait to see the finished piece. I think potentially I need to re-decorate the room, never mind at least it will be fresh for me, which also means more time out of the room, never mind it is only a small room. I'll try and do it later today once he has gone, I am quite excited to get on to the next stage!

I haven't spent any of my money today but I took MD to the shop and she bought me a steak, my favourite type too. I have also put on a lunch of cheese on toast for MD me and the carpenter we all ate at the table it was quite nice. I have also done the washing up.

I will need a lovely list to work from with regards the work I need to get done in the smaller room once the carpenter has been:-

    0) Get everything out that I need and put it on the table ready to use in the dining room.

    1) Hoover and dust

    2) masking tape up

    3) Paint

    4) Allow to dry

    5) See if a second coat is needed on the newly exposed areas - second coat.

    6) Leave to dry for today and have a window open.

    7) Clear up after myself.

    8) R&R

    9) Search for a job and apply.

I have to say he has done a cracking job I am super pleased with it. I have already polyfilled problem zones, next sanding and masking tape and working though that list. I am a bit tired now so may not do too much right now and try and get an early night.

    Thank you redlipstickXX

Today I am ready and raring to go to get the work done, I need the work done soon as I am against the clock to get it finished. A potential lodger is interested in the smaller room as I had decided to put the ad up as all interest is good interest. Also I racked up my first no spend day in a while yeseterday leaving me on 5/19 No spend days for August. I have got the list here so it is easier to find with a few changes.

    0) Take down piccies.

    1) Hoover and dust

    2) masking tape up

2.5) Paint the ceiling and wait to dry

2.75) Clean up after painting ceiling

    3) Masking tape up extra sensitive

    4) Paint the walls

    5) See if a second coat is needed on the newly exposed areas - second coat.

    6) Leave to dry for today and have a window open.

    7) Clear up after myself.

    8) R&R

    9) Search for a job and apply.

    10) Take returns back to the shop.

    But first brekkie!

Sometime later - I have been to MDs and I took a lot longer there then expected as she needed my assistance however it was worth £27.75 in refunding as I managed to get old roller and paint brush which I thought was lost, I took back the returns and I am about to face the next challenge, I am giving myself a suitable break first then I will paint the ceiling. I am not looking forward to it! Once that is done I will leave it a night then continue tomorrow.

Wow I am glad the ceiling is done, I really am not fit and very fat and get hot, luckily it is a cooler day, very preferable, at least that is done now. Next stage will be tomorrow now I think when the ceiling has been dry a while, then in the morning I will masking tape and get ready for the wall painting, then paint the wall - here is the list for tomorrow:-

    1) Masking tape up extra sensitive

    2) Paint the walls

    3) See if a second coat is needed on the newly exposed areas - second coat.

    4) Leave to dry for today and have a window open.

    5) Clear up after myself.

    6) R&R

    7) Search for a job and apply.

However I will search for a job today and cross off the previous list.

Project now is get a few chores done and relax ready for tomorrow.

Job well done, a few smudges but I got most of it off, I didn't need a second coat, it looked like I would when I put it on but after drying it looked solid, no lines, so bonus! I feel a bit done in, as I pretty much did it in one go I haven't done anything like that for a long time, I just pushed myself to comlete it and I did it - surely I am employable!

On that note, as I know I have an interview coming up I really want to go all out and prepare for it, so that is my mission for this afternoon, I want to make sure I have thought of every angle and prepped for it having prepared best possible answers and questions, as this interview that is coming up - I really want the job and I have a good chance of getting it!

Today sadly I have spent money I was going to keep within the £6 that I won on a previous day, but when I got to the till it said £6.89 and then I decided since it was going to be a spendy day I would get more scratch cards and lost on them - so feeling a bit foolish, I could have done a much better job of it, like taking back the chocolate milkshake I got so it would be within the budget, never mind!

I think I will also do some cross stitch and read later too, I haven't thought as far ahead as dinner, but I may get some cheeky cod and chips, which I know is unwise but after todays exertion I feel a reward is due!

I have peeled off the masking tape, there is one problem zone but mostly otherwise it looks good. I am going to see what happens when I move in there! wish me luck!

    I need a little list:-

    1) Make sure the floor is clean and free of paint and debris.

    2) put the rug down and decide where the furniture is going.

    3) Move the furniture into the room, make sure it all fits nicely.

    4) Move printer to the lounge and switch on.

    5) change all bedding.

    6) move bedrooms and see if everything fits into the new room.

    7) Clean old bedroom.

    8) Sleep in new bedroom and re-evaluate my choice!

    9) Decide which room I am staying in.

    10) Take piccies and put room ad up.

    11) Project get the house clean and new list!
