CrazyBee787 said:I no longer have a job, I have decided that life is too short to be micro managed and ditched them. I am applying for UC and council tax support as well as many other jobs. I know this is less then sensible when I have £130 in the bank, however my mental health is suffering to a great extent that I feel I needed to get out and now I have. It is a shame because I am good at the job and they even said it. There is just something there that isn't right for me. Either that or I am genereally doomed for all work and I will never get the right job? I have worked at places longer then a month so I don't believe that, I just need the right opportunity. They can't all be dead ends, can they? It would then mean there is something wrong with me, wouldn't it. Which I think there is to some degree as most people could probably get through the day until they had found something else? wouldn't they?
Considering how long you were out of work before you got this job and having no emergency fund I’m shocked you’ve made this decision 😥
I think whenever we work for someone else we are micro managed; the only option not to is to work for yourself, is that an option for you?MFW 2025 #50: £1139.75/£600007/03/25: Mortgage: £67,000.00

I have applied for many jobs and I have not heard a peep. MD says why not let out your room for money, I may have to at this rate. I have cancelled mortgage payment, I have applied for benefits and support. The money I saved for the Christmas fund will be used differently now! If I am going to let out my room, I will need to do a full tidy up as I have let chores slip for a few days. On thinking about it I would rather not let out my spare room, So I am going to plan for not doing for the time being. Lets see finances:-
Cash In account:- £113.75
Cash expected in salary at the end of the month:- £950
Bills to pay 01.03.2025:- £705 (May be less if Council tax support comes in on time.)
Leaving £358 for April
Bills April £625
Shortfall of £267.00 plus credit card.
Therefore I do need to get a lodger, which I really don't want.
Benefits won't come in on time for April because I would have been paid something in Feb...OHH knightmare!
Okay so I need a mission to get the place looking good as well as putting the ad up.....I have now put up the ad.
Next mission sort the place out, everywhere is getting disgusting I have to say it to act on it!
A list:-
1) Wash up
2) Do bins
3) Hoover
4) Mop the floor
5) Put washing on
6) clean desk
7) Put away desk set up in living room.
8) change bed linen
9) Clean bathroom.
10) Rest and review.
I think I will do more on Sunday now or tomorrow maybe.

Hey Bee, sorry to hear about the job situation. Don't know your full story, but I tend to recommend this site to friends in similar situation or just looking for a change https://www.bcs.org/it-careers/tech-career-quiz/quiz/I work with many entry level business analysts and others who did the intro courses/certifications via BCS and grew their careers if this is something you're interested in. Entry salaries are not necessarily super high but there are many jobs in different sectors and good progress. Shout if you have any questions. Wishing you best of luck!RL x

Oh gosh what a shock. I'm so sorry I didn't realise you were struggling so much with the job?! I am micro managed in one way but that's because I work with vulnerable young adults. I expect it. I'm taking it you don't in your job?
I wonder if you should look to do something completely different? Perhaps? Or self employed....I think renting a room out would give the breathing space you probably need right now but I understand why you wouldn't want to also.. oh dear what a quandary. Keep posting though! You've got support on here from people and could probably do with that right now.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. January 1st £118,267.06. If you really don’t want to have a lodger then don’t. It won’t work. My lodger & I rub along fine but there’s a lot of give & take on both sides. Are you really in the right frame of mind for this?I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters.
