@MFWannabe The blue monster is free and can be found on the 'No spend thread' I am currenlty up to 7/19 days including today and when you hit 20 you get the blue monster, I really want to reach him! He looks like this:-

    image

I have taken MD to the place she wanted to go today, she got what she wanted so she is happy, and I have come back home to have lunch, then I will do some of the cross stitch I have to admit I am still a fractionally bit hesistant - not sure why, but I will start it today, I think three small sections I will try and do today, if I get into it I will do more. But First I want the flat to warm up.

There are 11 days until the 19th, I have all the provisions in that I need and MD said she is happy to stay in next week so it should be possible to reach goal - however I have done small calculation and there is some leeway, MD bought me a blender and will arrive ready for next week, I am thinking that I will get the frozen fruit and juice that I need to make a smoothie for next weekend grocery order. I am also thinking I will buy the lamb afterall because there is the money for it, and it would be good to get some more meals in the freezer, If I am going to spend money then I prefer it on wholesome meals that I enjoy, This will give me something to do next weekend too as well as cross stitch and reading. Also I might be tempted to make a cake also.

I hope you all have a good weekend.XX

First bit of cross stitch is done, I think I will do one lot of thread at a time, I have a kit and the thread is already cut and lasts about an hour for one thread. I have done 4 sections and I enjoyed the process, I have a very big coastal scene to do so it should last about a year at least!! very cheap hobby and I enjoy yippee!! I may do more than an hour in the long run but for the time being an hour is enough for me. I haven't done a bad job either, although I am only doing a basic cross stitch, I am not planning on doing any fancy cross stitch besides I think I am missing those insructions? and I am happy enough doing the basic stitch, I may learn other stitches in the future but for now, I am pleased with it. So far it looks like a dash of green there is a hell of a long way to go with it.

Also I have prepared the tomato sauce and started cooking the quorn meatballs, all I have to do is chuck it in the oven put some pasta on and it will be done and that should really do 4 meals it might only do three, I will freeze the rest for another week. I really feel like I have accomplished something.

I have a little bit of time now before dinner needs to get started, i'll try calling a friend, sort the washing out and I think and that will bring me to dinner time. Satisfying weekendXX

There is a problem in paradise I have rather unexpectedly received a council tax bill, usually when you get council tax support in the past I have received support up until the next council tax period, but this time I have received a bill for £230, this will be two months in one Eak! That means with the Poor credit card balance and the unexpected bill,I am on target to save £100, wonderbar!! I feel somewhat cheated but never mind it is what it is.

I have never really saved much in the past so why now will be any different? it will be eventually I say to myself, even with paying council tax at a normal rate I am due to save by keeping my monthly spend down, it does mean I am further away from reaching goal but I am sure it is still doable. I just need to keep plodding, but feeling a bit upset about it.

9 days to go until cross over and it should be 9/19 days of No spend today we will see. Packed lunch is ready. I didn't have a good day at work yesterday either to top it off. Lets see how today pans out. 😒🍀😊

    Sometime later...

9/19 No spend days ...getting there, MD said the blender has arrived and I can pick it up, I am going to wait until the weekend rather then use fuel up to pick it up when I need to go at the weekend anyhow. Also I don't have the fruit just yet..I have ordered over budget and providing I don't spend and depending on outcome of CC issue, I will save either £84.73 or £404.69, my mind is thinking I want Fish and Chips but looking at the figure £404.69, If I keep everything as it is that would be a good amount to save (£400) and if I were to have fish and chips it would be below this!! Although there is a good chance I will get paid more then expected (tax break) so perhaps I will have the Cod chips at any rate!! Naughty I know, but a gal wants what a gal wants!!

Aiming for 10/19 No spend days, only 8 days to go until CC cut off. Except for the game blip I am doing the best that I can on the spending front, so even if this month is a write off, I am learning for other months. Fingers crossed for meXX

  • Morning CrazyBee... trying to catch up on a few people's diaries now I'm feeling a bit better 🤗...how do you work your NSDs out? Mine are counted when I literally spend nothing on any given day (I don't count bills though as they all come out of a separate account anyway). Wondering if on the NSD thread there is a different way to do it? I keep losing count of mine anyway so no idea how many I am having per month now but I'd guess on average I am finally at around half the month at least being NSd. I remember when I couldn't even go one day without finding something to buy 🙈🤣.

    Hope work is going ok?

Thanks I allow pocket money as included in budgets or I should say all budgets included in spending, it is only when I go over budget or spend more then I planned that I call it a spending day. However this is just to help with No spend days, most my days are true no spends, but sometimes I give myself some leniency. This was suggested to me as a means of becoming better at it. Sometimes when you start true no spends are hard, so you need a little middle step, such as pocket money. You could argue that after playing that game I had no pocket money, however I needed to give myself some to work with, you could argue, but it is working for me. I have spent far less by the methods I use. Like today I wanted to go and get snack, (tbh I am still thinking about it!) but I thought I want a No spend day and that is what stopped me from driving on after work. (I may go out still yet then it will be a spendy day!!).

I no longer have a job, I have decided that life is too short to be micro managed and ditched them. I am applying for UC and council tax support as well as many other jobs. I know this is less then sensible when I have £130 in the bank, however my mental health is suffering to a great extent that I feel I needed to get out and now I have. It is a shame because I am good at the job and they even said it. There is just something there that isn't right for me. Either that or I am genereally doomed for all work and I will never get the right job? I have worked at places longer then a month so I don't believe that, I just need the right opportunity. They can't all be dead ends, can they? It would then mean there is something wrong with me, wouldn't it. Which I think there is to some degree as most people could probably get through the day until they had found something else? wouldn't they?
